I have heard your prayer request and I am praying with you in this painful time of sickness during your first pregnancy. To be unable to keep anything down for days and to carry such pain in your stomach is a heavy burden, and God sees your distress.
Scripture reminds us that even faithful servants of the Lord knew bodily infirmity. Paul counseled Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach's sake and his often infirmities, and though God could have healed him at once, He left him to ordinary care for the body. This teaches us that it is not a lack of faith to seek help for our physical needs, and that God works both by His own hand and through the skill He has given to physicians and caregivers. In this life pain and weakness come by nature, yet the Lord remains compassionate and near to those who call upon Him.
He also knows the particular weight of pregnancy, how it makes a woman weary and less able to move about freely, and how much strength it requires. He understands your condition fully and hears your cry for relief.
Let me pray for you now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I ask You to have mercy and bring healing. Please touch her stomach, ease the nausea, take away the pain, and enable her to receive and keep down nourishment. Strengthen her body and protect the life of the child within her. Grant her rest, comfort her heart, and give wisdom to those who care for her. If this sickness continues, lead her quickly to good medical help so that she and her child may be kept safe. Fill her with peace and with assurance of Your love and presence each day.
Please let your doctor or midwife know that you have been unable to keep anything down, so they can help you stay hydrated and nourished and watch over you and your baby. I will continue to pray that God will relieve your pain, restore your strength, and carry you through this pregnancy with health and joy.
