We join with you in prayer and we thank you for giving thanks to God for this day and for His presence in your life and in the lives of your children, for every good and perfect gift is from above and we give Him thanks in all things as we are taught in 1 Thessalonians 5:18. We hear the deep weariness and pain in your heart from years of feeling stolen from and lied about and hurt by your ex step sister and her family, and the burden you carry for your children and for the many others you have lifted up by name, and we bring all of this before the Lord with you.

We want to gently and lovingly correct a few things in your prayer so that your prayers may align more fully with the will of God. You prayed that the devil would be removed from your life and sent over to your ex step sister's house and onto her children. We understand the hurt that would make you pray this way, but Scripture does not teach us to ask God to send evil upon another person or family, even those who have hurt us. We are told to resist the devil and he will flee from us in James 4:7, and to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us in Matthew 5:44. Vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay in Romans 12:19, and we are told not to repay evil for evil but to overcome evil with good in Romans 12:21. Instead of asking God to transfer evil to them, we pray that God would deliver you and your children from the evil one in Matthew 6:13, that He would protect your home and your minds, and that He would also bring conviction, repentance and salvation to your ex step sister and her children if they do not know Him, for God desires that all should come to repentance in 2 Peter 3:9.

We also hear your prayers concerning several men in your life. You prayed for one who tried to kill you that love would be put back in his heart and in yours so you can heal. We must speak plainly here out of love and concern for your safety. God is your refuge and protector in Psalm 46:1, and He does not call you to return to or to long for a relationship with someone who has tried to take your life and has not shown true repentance and transformation. Forgiveness is commanded in Ephesians 4:32, but forgiveness does not mean returning to danger or trusting someone who remains unsafe. We pray for your complete healing and that God would restore life and joy to your heart, and that He would heal that man only as he truly repents before God, and we urge you to seek wise counsel and protection and to keep healthy boundaries.

You also prayed for a man who struggles with addiction and who womanizes women, that he would return to you and then choose to change. We pray earnestly for his deliverance, for God can set the captive free in John 8:36, and we pray that he would repent of sexual immorality, for the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord in 1 Corinthians 6:13 and we are told to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18. Womanizing and addiction are serious sins that destroy lives and relationships, and a man living in that way is not ready to be a godly husband until God has done a deep work of repentance and cleansing in him. We encourage you not to set your heart on being with someone in that condition, but to pray for his salvation and to trust God to bring you, if it is His will, a godly spouse who is a faithful Christian believer, for we should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6:14. The same is true for the other relationships you mentioned. You prayed for a man to leave the woman he is with for the right woman, and for another man to be with his rightful girlfriend, and for a young woman and her boyfriend to become serious. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and we encourage that any courtship between a man and a woman should be with the goal of godly marriage, not simply being a boyfriend or girlfriend, and that sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and is sin before God in Hebrews 13:4. Rather than asking God to move people from one romantic partner to another according to our own desires, we pray that each of these people would seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness in Matthew 6:33, that they would pursue purity, and that God would lead each one to the spouse He has for them if they are to marry, or give them contentment in Him.

We hear your exhaustion and your cry that you and your children deserve to laugh and be a family again, and we agree that God wants to give you joy and restoration. You mentioned depression and suicide, and we want you to know that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit in Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. The Lord has plans for you for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future in Jeremiah 29:11. If these thoughts of depression and suicide are weighing heavily on you or on those you love, please reach out quickly to a trusted pastor, counselor, or other help and do not carry this burden alone, for we are called to bear one another's burdens in Galatians 6:2. We also see your weariness from lies and stealing, and we pray that God would bring truth to light in Luke 8:17, that what has been taken would be restored according to His justice, and that He would help you to release bitterness, for bitterness defiles many in Hebrews 12:15, and to walk in forgiveness while trusting God as your defender.

We are grateful that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12, and it is through Jesus that we have access to the Father in John 14:6. We are glad you ended your prayer in His name.

We pray together now for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we lift up this dear mother and her children to You. Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and for being present in their lives. We ask that You would place Your hand of protection over this home and over the minds and hearts of these children, that no weapon formed against them would prosper in Isaiah 54:17, and that You would send Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7. We ask that You would resist the devil on their behalf as they submit to You and resist him in James 4:7, and that You would deliver them from all evil. We pray for the return and restoration of her children to her home according to Your will and Your perfect timing, and that You would be their shield and their comfort while they wait, and that You would provide godly help and counsel for them.

Lord, we pray for each person she named before You. We pray for the one fighting depression, that You would restore to him what has been lost and lift his heaviness with Your joy, and for every person struggling with addiction and sexual sin, that You would bring deep conviction, repentance and deliverance, that they would be made new creations in Christ in 2 Corinthians 5:17. We pray for those seeking jobs and education, that You would open doors for honest work and provision so they can provide with dignity in Colossians 3:23, and for the young woman in her studies, that she would use her gifts for Your glory. We pray for the man who has done violence, that You would bring him to true repentance or keep Your daughter safe from him, and we ask for healing for her heart from that trauma. For all these relationships, we pray that Your will be done, that purity and holiness would be upheld, and that any future marriages would honor You.

Father, we also lift up the ex step sister and her children. We do not ask for evil upon them, but we ask for Your mercy and truth to work in their lives, that any stealing, lying or harm would be brought into the light and repented of, and that bitterness would be removed from all hearts and replaced with forgiveness and love that comes from You in Ephesians 4:31-32. Let all who do not belong in this home and in these children's lives be removed by Your righteous hand, and let what has been undone by wrongdoing be restored as You see fit. Heal this family from exhaustion and sorrow, and let them laugh and be a family again in Your joy, for the joy of the Lord is our strength in Nehemiah 8:10. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.

Your heavy burden has been heard, and we thank you for bringing it so honestly before the Lord. There is much weariness in your words, long years of being wronged and stolen from, pain in your family, fear for your children, and deep heaviness of spirit that has touched you and those you love. The Lord knows this sorrow, and He invites those who are weary and heavy laden to come to Christ for rest.

We must speak with love about some of what you have asked, for prayer is not to send evil upon another house or to call down filth and sin upon another family. The Scripture teaches us not to curse but to bless, to pray for those who have harmed us, and to leave vengeance in the hands of God who judges righteously. We cannot ask God to send the devil to your ex step sister or her children, but we can and do ask Him to deliver you from the power of darkness. Deliverance from the power of sin and from the adversary is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and He alone must do it. There is a higher restoration than mere relief from outward trouble, and God has invented a way of deliverance for sinners from the pit of hell through a ransom, which is the gift of His love in Jesus Christ. That voice you shall always hear, if you are a child of God, when you are brought into peril and trouble, is that God has given commandment to save you, and you shall be saved from yourself, from old sins, and from the devil.

You spoke also of depression and thoughts of death, of violence that has threatened your life, of addiction and of sexual sin that has wounded many. These are not light things, and you should not carry them alone. Please seek the steady help of a faithful pastor and trusted, godly people near you, and if there is danger to your body or thoughts of taking life, seek help at once from those who can keep you safe. The Lord has chastened His children sorely at times, but there is a distant difference between chastisement and punishment. Chastisement comes from a Father's hand for our good, while punishment is the doom of those outside Christ. If you are in Christ, be glad that He has not erased your name from His heart or His hands, nor given you over to your enemy's power. He is thinking about you still.

Concerning the longings of the heart for others, we cannot ask God to bless what is outside His holy will or to put love in one heart for another according to our desire. God has made marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and He has set apart sexual love and living together to belong within that covenant alone. To pray that a man who womanizes would return to you, or that a man would leave the woman he is with for another, or that a boyfriend and girlfriend would become more serious apart from this holy pattern, is to ask God to bless what He calls us to turn from. Instead we pray for repentance and new hearts. For the one bound by addiction and sexual sin, we pray that God would deliver him from the fascinating power of sin and bring him to true repentance and faith in Christ, that he would learn the mischief that comes from loving the world and be made pure. For those who have tried to harm you, we pray not that love would be manipulated, but that God would bring conviction, safety for you, and true healing that can only come through the cross. For every relationship you named, we pray that each person would be brought to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and that any romantic love would then be ordered under Christ, either in holiness within marriage or in holy singleness before Him.

For your children, for work and daily bread, and for studies, we do bring these needs to the Lord according to His will. We ask that He would provide decent work, open right doors for learning, guard the minds and bodies of your children, and give wisdom to all who have lawful care for them. If you have been robbed or wronged, we pray that God would bring what is just and right to light in lawful ways, and that He would give you grace to forgive as you have been forgiven, even as you seek protection and peace for your home.

Let us pray for you now in a way that seeks what God has promised to give.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who is the only ransom from the pit, have mercy upon this dear soul and upon the children and family so burdened. Deliver from the power of darkness, from despair and from the assaults of the evil one, and keep them from going down to the pit. Forgive sin through the blood of Christ, restore the joy of Your salvation, and take not Your Holy Spirit away. Lift the weight of depression and keep from the way of self destruction. Deliver the addicted and the unclean, and make each heart new. Teach all to walk in purity, to honor marriage as You have ordained it, and to seek first Your kingdom. Provide work, provide learning, provide a safe home, and let this family live and declare the works of the Lord. Grant repentance, faith, and peace that comes from Christ alone. Amen.

We encourage you to remain under the care of a local Bible preaching church where you can be known, prayed for, and helped to walk in these things day by day. The Lord who has kept you till now is able to keep you still, and His healing leaves are for the healing of wounded hearts. Look to Christ Himself, for there is balm only at Calvary.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing your heart and bringing these burdens to prayer. It is clear you are tired and carrying a heavy load, and you love your children deeply and want to see your family have joy and peace again. God sees your weariness and He hears you when you call on Him in the name of Jesus, who alone is the way of salvation.

I want to pray with you in a way that follows what Scripture teaches about how we should pray, especially when we have been hurt by others. You asked that evil be taken from your life and sent to your ex step sister and her children. We cannot ask God to send evil or harm upon another family. The Lord teaches us to ask for our own protection from the evil one, to resist the devil, and to pray for those who have hurt us that they would come to repentance and know the grace of God. So instead we pray that God would guard you and your children from all evil, that He would bring justice where there has been stealing and lying, and that He would also work in the hearts of your ex step sister and her children to bring them to truth and repentance. We do not return evil for evil, but we ask God to remove what is false and to establish what is good and holy in your home.

You prayed for your children to be sent home to you. We will pray that God protects your children wherever they are, that He gives wisdom to all who have responsibility for them, and that He restores your family in the way that is safest and most healthy for the children. Like the parents of Moses who trusted God in great danger, we can trust God to care for children even when circumstances feel out of our control, and to give you strength to bear good fruit in your life as a parent.

You mentioned several men by name, asking that love be put back in their hearts toward you, that an addict who womanizes would return to you and change, and that men would leave the women they are with to be with the right woman. We understand the longing for love and for relationships to be healed. Yet we cannot ask God to force someone to love us or to bless sexual relationships outside of marriage. God designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and He calls us to keep sex and living together within that covenant. To womanize, to live together without marriage, or to leave one relationship to pursue another outside of God's design does not honor Him and does not lead to true healing. So we will pray differently. For the man who tried to harm you, we pray for your healing and safety, and that he would truly repent. For the man struggling with addiction and sexual sin, we pray that God would bring him to repentance, to sobriety, to purity, and to faith in Christ, and that any future relationship he has would be shaped by that repentance. For the others you mentioned, we pray that God would lead each person to follow His will for marriage, to be faithful where faithfulness is required, and to pursue purity and holiness rather than following feelings alone. We do not pray that God would make someone choose you, but that each of you would choose to follow Christ first, and that if it is His will to bring a godly marriage, it would be built on that foundation.

For the young woman you mentioned who wants to start college and for the man who needs better work, we do pray that God would provide for their needs, give them diligence, open doors for honest work and for education, and help them use those good gifts to honor Him. For the young couple you mentioned, we pray that their relationship would become serious in the right way, meaning that they would seek to honor God with purity and, if they continue together, to move toward marriage as God intends rather than simply living together.

You spoke of depression and thoughts of suicide, and of being tired of lies and filth and sin. Please hear that sin is serious, but despair is even more dangerous. One who has sinned can quickly be restored through repentance, but one who gives in to despair fails to apply the remedy that repentance offers. Do not give up hope. God encourages us not only with warnings but with promises that those who bear good fruit are delivered from judgment. He also holds up the simplicity and humility of a little child as a pattern for us, free from envy and desire for position. Bring your sorrow to Him with that childlike honesty, and keep turning from sin to Him. If depression and suicidal thoughts are pressing on you or someone you love, please reach out right away to a trusted pastor, counselor, or a safe person in your life, and seek help without delay.

Let me pray for you now in a way that asks for God's blessing according to His will:

Father in heaven, thank You for this day and for Your mercy in Jesus Christ, through whom alone we are saved. Guard this parent and these children from the evil one and fill their home with peace and truth. Remove lies and stealing and all that does not belong, and do justice with mercy. Protect the children and provide for their needs, and give wisdom to all who care for them. Bring healing where there has been violence and hurt, and teach us to forgive as You have forgiven us, while also seeking what is right. Bring those who are bound by addiction, sexual sin, and depression to repentance and to new life in Christ, and teach all of us to pursue purity and to honor marriage as You designed it. Provide honest work and opportunity for education, and help each person bear good fruit to Your glory. Lift up those who are despairing and give them hope, that they may not give in to despondency but find strength in Your grace. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
