We join you in lifting up this burden to our loving Heavenly Father, who cares for us and knows our needs before we even ask. It's wonderful that you have come to God with this need, acknowledging Him as Jehovah Jireh, our Provider.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the promise in Matthew 7:7-8 WEB: "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened." God hears your prayers and He will provide.
We also want to address the relationship between you and the father of your child. It is clear that you are not married, and while God is a God of second chances, it is important to acknowledge that God's design for family is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman in marriage with any children raised within that marriage. Fornication is sin, but it can be forgiven and a new life begun just like the woman at the well in John 4. Jesus did not condemn her but told her to sin no more. You both should consider this going forward. It is not God's design that a family should be fractured in this way.
Regarding the father of your child, we pray that God touches his heart and brings conviction upon his life. We pray that he rises up to take the responsibility that God has given him. If he is not a believer in Jesus Christ, we pray that he comes to a saving knowledge of Him. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and can experience His forgiveness and new life.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up the father of this child to You. Stir his heart, Lord, and bring him to a place of repentance and salvation if he does not know Jesus. Help him to see the importance of his role and give him the desire and ability to provide for his child as he ought. Break down any barriers of pride, selfishness, or distraction, and replace them with love, wisdom, and integrity. Provide for him so that he may provide for his child. Help him learn to forgive himself and move forward in Jesus name.
Lord, we also lift up this mother. Strengthen her, Lord, and give her Your peace. Help her to trust in You fully, and to rest in Your provision. Guide her as she raises her child, and give her wisdom and grace. Help her forgive him and herself if needed and move forward in Jesus name.
Father, we ask that You provide all that is needed for this child's education and well-being. Give both the father and the mother a heart for You and a desire to follow Your ways in Jesus name.
Finally, we pray for their relationship and this family. We pray for healing, restoration, and guidance. If it is Your will Lord, we pray that this family would be reunited in marriage, under Your covenant, and that they would raise this child together, following Your ways. Give them both a desire for a Godly marriage and a Godly family in Jesus name.
We ask this all in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
