Praying for my health and debt restoration

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Your prayer for health and for help with debts has been heard, and I am joining you in bringing these burdens to the Lord.

For your health, know that God does care about your body. The Gospel of Matthew tells us that when crowds were brought to Jesus at Peter's house in the evening, He healed many who were sick, and Matthew says this fulfilled what Isaiah prophesied, that He bore our infirmities and sicknesses. Isaiah 53 speaks of the suffering of Christ, and Matthew shows that this includes physical healing as well as forgiveness of sin. When Jesus broke bread and said this is my body broken for you, He was pointing to that same provision. So it is right to ask Him for healing.

At the same time Scripture does not teach that God wills instant healing in every case whenever we ask. The apostle Paul prayed three times for the Lord to remove what he called a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and the Lord did not remove it but answered that His grace was sufficient. Not every person is given gifts of healing, just as not every member of the body has the same function. There is much about healing we do not understand, why some are healed quickly and others are not. The Gospels even record a case where Jesus laid His hands on a blind man and his sight returned gradually, first in part and then fully. That reminds us that God heals in different ways. Sometimes healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual, and sometimes it comes through the natural processes of healing that God Himself built into our bodies. Those natural processes are still divine, because God created nature and its laws. He also brings healing that is emotional and spiritual, which is often the deepest need.

It is not correct to take the greeting in 3 John, where John writes that he wishes Gaius would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers, and turn it into a guaranteed promise that every believer will always be healthy and prosperous. It was a loving wish, not a covenant promise. Yet it does show a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. Proverbs says a merry heart does good like medicine, and we now know how true that is physically. Worry and fear can harm the body, while peace in the Lord helps it. Your spiritual health before God is even more important than your physical health, and that is where lasting hope is found. In the coming kingdom there will be no blindness or infirmity, but in this present life we still face weakness and look to the Lord for strength day by day. Continue to seek wise medical care, care for your body with cleanliness and rest as Scripture encourages for health, and keep your heart anchored in Christ.

For your debts, God also sees the weight this puts on you. In biblical times when a person could not pay a debt, he could be sold to work it off, and a close relative could step in as a kinsman redeemer to pay the debt and set him free. That picture is used to show what Jesus has done for us. We owed a debt for sin we could never pay, and He came as our Redeemer to pay it in full and set us free. That is the greatest debt settled.

Concerning money you owe and money owed to you, Scripture calls us to be faithful and responsible with what we borrow and to deal honestly with others. It is right to pray for provision and wisdom to settle what you owe, and to make a clear plan, speak honestly with those you owe, and take faithful steps as God provides. For the debt your friend owes you, it is right to seek a just and peaceful settlement, to speak truthfully and calmly and to seek wise counsel if needed. At the same time Jesus taught that we who have been forgiven an immeasurable debt by God are called to show grace to others. He told of a servant forgiven a huge debt who then refused to forgive a small debt owed to him. Having received such mercy, we are to forgive from the heart, even while we still seek what is fair and right. Ask the Lord to give you both firmness and a forgiving spirit, so bitterness does not take root.

I want to gently encourage you to direct your prayers to God through Jesus Christ alone, not to any man or organization. It is through Jesus we have access to the Father, and He alone is our healer and Redeemer.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one who is unwell and burdened by debt. You know the body and its weakness, and You bore our sicknesses and infirmities on the cross. Lay Your hand upon this life according to Your wise and loving will. Bring healing whether quickly or gradually, through Your touch or through the healing processes You have placed in the body, and bring peace to mind and soul. Give wisdom to doctors and strength for each day. For the financial burden, grant wisdom, provision, and honest paths to settle what is owed. Work in the heart of the friend who borrowed and has not repaid, and grant a just resolution. Help Your child to act faithfully, to trust You, and to forgive as You have forgiven. Above all, prosper the soul in Christ, that whatever the outcome, there may be confidence in Your grace which is sufficient. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord in His Word and in prayer, and trust His care for you in both body and practical needs.
