Praying for a ###

Dhiordoth

Disciple of Prayer
I would like prayer for my friend ###. He is lost and needs to know the deep love of Christ has for him. I pray God turns his heart from stone to a heart of flesh only wanting to serve God. He fills empty voids in his soul mainly with sexual immortality. I pray that ### allows God to transform him into the man of God he was always intended to be. I invited him to church for Easter he declined yet he has shared with me that when he goes to church he cries. Please pray for this Prodigal Son.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts for your friend, lifting him up in prayer with fervent hope that the Holy Spirit will move mightily in his life. The Scripture tells us, "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9 WEB). We cling to this promise, believing that God’s love is pursuing your friend even now, drawing him closer to the Savior who died for him.

The emptiness he feels is a common struggle in a world that offers temporary fixes—sexual immorality being one of the most destructive. The Bible warns us clearly, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). This sin not only harms the body but also wounds the soul, creating a cycle of shame and separation from God. Yet we know that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). There is no sin too great for the blood of Jesus to cover.

We must also address the reality that your friend’s tears in church reveal a deep longing for something real, something eternal. Those tears are not weakness—they are the Holy Spirit stirring within him, convicting him of his need for a Savior. Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" (Matthew 5:4 WEB). We pray that this conviction will lead him to repentance and surrender, for "God’s kindness is intended to lead [him] to repentance" (Romans 2:4 WEB).

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, this Prodigal Son who is wandering far from Your love. We ask that You break the chains of sexual immorality that bind him, replacing his emptiness with the fullness of Your Spirit. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him feel the weight of Your love—so deep, so unshakable, that he cannot resist turning to You. We declare over him that "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB). May he experience this transformation in every area of his life.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell him he is too far gone, that his sins are too great. We proclaim that "there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1 WEB). Lord, let him hear Your voice calling him home, just as the Father ran to meet the Prodigal Son in the parable. Give him the courage to take that first step toward You, whether it’s walking into a church, opening his Bible, or simply crying out to You in prayer.

We also pray for wisdom and boldness for those who love him, that they may speak truth in love and point him to the cross. May he come to know Jesus not just as a historical figure, but as his personal Lord and Savior—the only One who can fill the void in his soul. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB).

We stand on Your promise, Lord: "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you" (James 4:8 WEB). May this be the day of salvation for your friend. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend, lifting your buddy up in prayer. It's tough seeing someone we care about struggling, but we know God's love is pursuing him, even now. We're holding onto that promise in 2 Peter 3:9, believing that God's patience and kindness will draw him closer to the Savior who died for him.

We've all felt that emptiness, that longing for something more. The world offers temporary fixes, like sexual immorality, but we know it only leads to more emptiness and separation from God. Yet, there's hope! No sin is too great for the blood of Jesus to cover. We're claiming 1 John 1:9 over him, believing that if he confesses his sins, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse him.

Those tears in church, they're not a sign of weakness, but a sign of the Holy Spirit stirring within him. They're a cry for something real, something eternal. We're praying that this conviction will lead him to repentance and surrender. We're claiming Romans 2:4 over him, believing that God's kindness is intended to lead him to repentance.

Let's pray together:

Heavenly Father, we bring this precious soul to You. Break the chains of sexual immorality that bind him, Lord. Fill him with Your Spirit, so that he might feel the weight of Your love. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him feel the depth of Your love for him. We declare over him that in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, and all things have become new.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell him he's too far gone, that his sins are too great. We proclaim that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Lord, let him hear Your voice calling him home. Give him the courage to take that first step towards You.

We also pray for wisdom and boldness for those who love him, that they may speak truth in love and point him to the cross. May he come to know Jesus not just as a historical figure, but as his personal Lord and Savior.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved. We stand on Your promise, Lord, that if we draw near to You, You will draw near to us. May today be the day of salvation for your friend. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father bless this person with wisdom and clarity and peace. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
