Prayers

Beloved of All
Please pray for my family. We have no idea what to do anymore. We already tried everything medical professionals, police, missionaries and pastors my brother sufferes from ### and today he started screaming and shouting because my mom wanted to send me old pictures when I was little. He shouted later insulting us for hours mostly my mom. We are very tired of his abuse and would like my mom to move out of this environment as soon as possible. She wants to but always finds an obstacle not to leave: Jesus Christ please help her she's exhausted and can't take it anymore. He's attacks are very common nowadays and mostly very abusive words.

We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your words, and our hearts ache with you as we lift your family before the Lord. The turmoil you describe is heavy, and the weight of verbal abuse and emotional distress is not something any family should endure. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s intervention, wisdom, and healing for your brother, your mother, and your entire household.

First, we want to acknowledge the love and concern you have for your mother. It is clear she is carrying a burden that has become unbearable, and her desire to leave this environment is understandable. However, we also recognize the struggle she faces in taking that step, likely out of love, responsibility, or fear of the unknown. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 15:22, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." We encourage your mother to seek godly counsel, whether from a trusted pastor, Christian counselor, or wise believers in the faith, who can help her navigate this difficult decision with clarity and wisdom. She does not have to walk this path alone.

For your brother, we pray fervently for his heart and mind. The outbursts and abusive language you describe are not reflective of the peace and self-control that God desires for His children. In James 1:20, we are reminded, "For the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God." We rebuke the spirit of anger, confusion, and torment that may be at work in his life, and we pray for God’s healing touch to break through whatever darkness has taken hold. Whether this is rooted in spiritual oppression, mental health struggles, or deep-seated pain, we ask the Lord to intervene in a mighty way. We also encourage your family to continue seeking professional help, as God often works through medical and therapeutic means to bring restoration.

We must also address the reality of abuse in the home. While we understand the desire to honor family and show love, Scripture does not require anyone to endure abuse. In fact, God calls us to wisdom and discernment in protecting ourselves and our loved ones. Proverbs 22:3 says, "A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it." Your mother’s safety and well-being are of utmost importance, and we pray that God will remove every obstacle standing in the way of her finding peace. Whether that means leaving the home, setting firm boundaries, or seeking legal protection, we ask the Lord to give her the strength and courage to take the steps necessary to preserve her dignity and health.

We also want to gently remind you of the power of forgiveness, not for your brother’s sake alone, but for your own hearts. Forgiveness does not mean excusing abusive behavior or remaining in harm’s way; rather, it is a release of bitterness and a surrender of justice to God. In Ephesians 4:31-32, we are called to "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." This is a difficult but necessary step in finding healing for your family.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the pain, the exhaustion, and the turmoil they are enduring, and we ask for Your divine intervention. We pray for this brother, that You would break every chain of anger, confusion, and torment in his life. Soften his heart, Lord, and bring him to a place of repentance and healing. We rebuke any spirits of darkness that may be influencing him, and we declare Your light and truth over his life.

Father, we lift up this mother who is weary and worn. Give her the strength to make the decisions necessary to protect herself and her family. Remove every obstacle that stands in her way, and surround her with wise counsel and support. Provide for her needs, Lord, and grant her peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to trust in You, knowing that You are her refuge and strength.

For this family, Lord, we ask for unity, wisdom, and healing. Mend what has been broken, and restore what has been lost. Teach them to set healthy boundaries while still extending grace and love. Fill their home with Your presence, and let Your peace reign in their hearts.

We also pray for this individual who has reached out to us. Give them patience, discernment, and hope as they navigate this difficult season. Remind them that they are not alone, and that You are working all things together for good.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

In closing, we want to encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this situation. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not forgotten, and God sees every tear you have shed. Lean on Him, trust in His timing, and allow His strength to sustain you. If your family has not already done so, we strongly encourage you to connect with a local church body where you can find support, prayer, and practical help. You do not have to walk this journey alone.

We are so sorry you and your mom are living under this kind of pressure. Because the situation is volatile, please put safety first. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. Trained people can help you think through a plan.

It is understandable that you are exhausted. You have already tried doctors, police, pastors, and missionaries, and yet the abuse continues. That is not a failure on your part. It is a heavy, ongoing burden. The most urgent need you named is getting your mom out of that environment. Since she wants to leave but keeps hitting obstacles, one practical step is to call a domestic violence helpline and ask someone to walk with her through a safety plan. They can help name the obstacles and sort out the next small step. You do not have to have the whole answer today.

Lord Jesus, You see this family, the exhaustion, the fear, the cruel words. Please protect this mother and give her clarity and courage to leave. Open a safe path and place practical helpers around her. Sustain the one writing, and bring calm where there has been so much turmoil. We ask for safety and wisdom in Jesus' name, Amen.

The Lord has seen the weariness of your mother and has heard the cry that rises from your house. It is not unbelief to say you have no idea what to do; it is often the place where the living God begins. A little child tapped at her mother's door, and when the mother did not come, she did the best thing under the circumstances. She cried as loud as ever she could, and her mother came to her. You have knocked at Mercy's door; if Mercy has not yet come, cry for it. Let the prayer go up with strong crying and tears, for Christ Jesus is able to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by him.

But while you cry, use the appointed means. Your mother should not remain in the path of a man whose raging words are a daily assault upon her soul. I will not ask God to bless her staying under that abuse, for it is not the King's Highway. He who travels on the King's Highway is under the King's protection, but he who takes to bypaths must protect himself. To stay without seeking release may seem like submission, yet it may be a bypath of fear and weariness. If there is a lawful door for her to move out, let her take it quickly. Do not act as though you had plenty of time; the present suffering is real and prolonged.

For your brother, I pray not that this evil be blessed, but that Christ would break the power of it. As the poor coming soul is often thrown down and torn by the enemy before he reaches the Savior, so your brother seems torn. When you pray for him, tell the adversary what is written: He is able to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by him; and whosoever cometh he will in no wise cast out. Pray that the Lord would deliver him from that desperate conflict. But his soul's battle does not require your mother to be the anvil for his blows.

Remember Joseph in the dungeon, Israel in Egypt, Hannah in the family of Elkanah, David when Samuel would have passed him by, Hezekiah when Sennacherib rebuked him. Are not all these instances of God exalting the low tree? He can lift your mother from this low place and set her in a safe habitation. It is a grand event when a family is saved, and I will ask the Lord that in your family the saved ones may be as Noah and his sons and his wife.

Let family prayer be more regarded, private prayer more diligently and more spiritually maintained, and bring this before the church. The Church is a mother, and never does she appear so truly a mother as when her children are sick and weary. Let the people of God surround you, not with words only, but with help for her removal.

The Lord Jesus Christ be near to your mother now. May He make her feet swift toward safety, her heart bold against false guilt, and her tongue loud in prayer until the answer comes. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The Lord sees your mother’s exhaustion, and He does not command her to stay in the path of daily abuse. Your brother’s screaming, insults, and cursing are not a small thing. Scripture says, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death, showing how seriously God views such sin. That is not a command for you to punish him, but a warning about the weight of his offense.

Whatever the cause of his condition, his actions remain abusive, and your mother is not required to endure them. You have already tried doctors, police, missionaries, and pastors. Now do what remains: get your mother out. There is no virtue in letting her be worn away.

The Lord Jesus, while dying, took care to place His own mother under the protection of John. If He made provision for His mother’s safety, you and your family must make provision for yours. Your mother may feel that leaving is against her duty or against Christ. It is not.

Christ is not the obstacle to her leaving. He is the one who opens the door. The command to honor mother and father falls on your brother too, and he is breaking it. His abusive words defile his own soul more than they can rob her of God’s love.

We will pray, and I urge the whole church to pray, that God gives your mother strength, removes every obstacle, and provides a safe place. But do not only pray. Help her pack. Help her go.

Continue to involve the authorities if there is any threat. And pray for your brother as well, that he would repent and receive healing. We ask the Lord Jesus Christ to help her now, to restrain his rage, and to turn his heart. But your mother must not be left in that house as a target.

Your request has been heard and I am praying for you, for your mother, and for your brother in this exhausting and painful situation. To live with hours of shouting and insults, especially directed at your mother, is draining and it is right to be concerned for her safety and for your own. The Lord sees how tired you are and how you have already sought help from medical professionals, from those in authority, and from pastors and missionaries.

Scripture shows us how complicated and painful family relationships can become between brothers. One brother who was the oldest felt a special responsibility for his younger brothers before his father. Another brother urged the rest not to lay a hand on his brother to kill him, but to find another way, because he is our brother, our own flesh. Years later those same brothers confessed that they were guilty concerning their brother because they had seen the anguish of his soul when he pleaded with them and they did not listen, and that distress had come upon them as a result. That story reminds us of two truths that apply to you. First, we must not harm our brother, and second, we must not close our ears to the anguish of those who are suffering in the home. Your brother's distress is real and needs continued care, and your mother's distress is also real and must not be ignored.

You described how your mother wants to leave this abusive environment but keeps finding an obstacle. In the same way Jacob once prayed when he feared his brother Esau was coming to harm him and the mothers and children with him. He prayed, deliver me from the hand of my brother, for I fear him. It is a biblical prayer to ask God for deliverance from a brother's threatening hand, and to ask Him to protect a mother and family. You can pray that prayer honestly. God is able to make a way where there seems to be no way. Long before a famine came, He sent Joseph ahead into Egypt to preserve his family. Even twenty years before the need was visible, God was preparing preservation. He can prepare and open a safe place for your mother now, even when every door seems closed.

Jesus also taught that whoever does the will of His Father in heaven is His brother and sister and mother. That means there is a family bond among those who follow the Lord that can be even closer than blood. When your own family is torn by abuse and exhaustion, God often provides support through faithful brothers and sisters in Christ who will listen, pray, stand with you, and help you think clearly about next steps. Do not walk through this alone. Keep trusted, mature believers close, and let them help your mother make a practical safety plan.

It is also true that a lack of strong spiritual leadership and the tolerating of what is harmful in a home can be very costly for a family, and that a family is cleansed through the Word which Jesus has spoken. Give God's Word its place in your home as you are able. Read it, pray it, and let it shape your decisions. The Word will not excuse abusive words and attacks, but it will bring light, conviction, and the call to repentance and to peace.

For your situation, please keep these things in mind as you pray and act.

Continue to seek appropriate help for your brother's condition with medical professionals and with wise pastoral counsel, but do not remain in a place where abuse is ongoing without boundaries. Abusive words that go on for hours are not something to simply endure. If there are threats to safety, it is right to involve those who can protect you.

Help your mother to move toward safety. If she wants to leave, come alongside her to remove obstacles one by one. That may mean helping her with practical details, finances, housing, and transportation, and involving other trusted people who can encourage her and hold her accountable to follow through, so that exhaustion does not keep her trapped.

Set clear boundaries with your brother in love. Loving him does not mean allowing him to continue to abuse your mother. Love seeks his good, which includes urging him toward repentance and treatment, and love seeks your mother's good, which includes protection.

I am praying for you in this way. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy on this family. You see this mother who is exhausted and cannot take more, and these children who are weary from long hours of insults and shouting. Deliver them from the hand of this abusive behavior and protect them. Make a clear and safe way for this mother to leave this environment and give her strength to take the next step without turning back. Bring conviction and healing to this brother, and provide the right care and help for his affliction. Surround this family with people who do Your will and who will be true brothers and sisters to them in this trial, and let Your Word cleanse and guide their home. Grant them wisdom, peace, and preservation, and let them know that You hear their cry. Amen.

Please keep reaching out for help and do not isolate. If you ever feel that anyone is in immediate danger, seek help immediately from those who can intervene and keep you safe. The Lord is near to those who are weary and He is able to preserve you through this.
