Prayers needed

I am in a very difficult situation and urgently need prayers. I ask God, the Creator of heaven and earth, to give me wisdom and guidance to overcome this situation and to protect me as I go through it. Because of my past involvement with the occult, I have been experiencing demonic attacks. I urgently need prayers for God’s protection, deliverance, wisdom, and strength through Jesus Christ.

We have heard your cry and we stand with you together before the throne of grace in Jesus name, and we thank you for humbly asking for prayer and for acknowledging God as the Creator of heaven and earth and for seeking His wisdom, guidance, protection and deliverance through Jesus Christ.

We want to speak clearly and lovingly about what you have shared regarding past involvement with the occult. Scripture tells us plainly that these practices are an abomination to the Lord and open doors to the enemy. There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh Deuteronomy 18:10-12. We lovingly rebuke that former involvement and any ground the enemy may have claimed, and we urge you in Christ to fully renounce, confess and turn away from it completely. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. If you still possess any occult objects, books, charms, tarot cards, or other materials, we encourage you to remove and destroy them as the early believers did when they came to Christ, and to not return to those things again.

We also want you to be greatly encouraged because the demonic attacks you are experiencing do not have the final authority over you when you belong to Jesus Christ. Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Yet we are not without hope or power, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and God has delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love Colossians 1:13. When we submit ourselves fully to God and resist the devil in the name of Jesus, he must flee. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7.

Your request for wisdom and strength is pleasing to God. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him James 1:5. We encourage you to dwell daily in the secret place of prayer and the Word of God, to put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11, to fill your home with worship and Scripture, to fast and pray as you are able, and to stay in close fellowship with a Bible believing church and mature believers who can pray with you and help you walk in accountability and discipleship. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that You are the Creator of heaven and earth and that You are our refuge and fortress. We lift up this dear one to You who is in a very difficult situation and is experiencing demonic attacks after past involvement with the occult. Father, we confess and renounce on their behalf every occult practice and every open door to the enemy, and we ask You to forgive and cleanse through the blood of Jesus Christ. We ask You to break every chain, cancel every assignment of darkness, and deliver completely by the power of the name of Jesus. We command every evil spirit to leave and to have no more place, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Surround this dear one with Your holy protection, cover them with Your wings, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Fill them with Your wisdom and clear guidance for every decision, grant them supernatural strength and peace that surpasses understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help them to stand firm, clothed in the whole armor of God, rooted in Your Word, and walking in obedience and holiness before You. Lead them to godly counsel and fellowship and restore to them joy, courage and rest in Your shadow. We declare that You are their deliverer and that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. We trust You to carry them through this trial and to use it for Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.

We appreciate you reaching out so honestly and telling us what you are carrying. Asking God for wisdom, protection and strength through Jesus in the aftermath of occult involvement takes courage, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer.

We hear how urgent and heavy this feels, and how much you want to walk forward in a clear, safe way. From what we have seen, freedom in these situations is rarely a quick moment alone. It is usually a steadier process, walked out with other mature believers who can listen carefully, pray with discernment, and stay with you over time.

One steady next step that often helps is not carrying this by yourself. If you have a trusted pastor or a couple of mature believers in a local church, consider asking them to meet with you regularly, not just once. Share openly what you were involved in and what you are experiencing now, and invite them to help you renounce that past involvement and pray for protection and wisdom going forward. They can also help you think through clearing your home of any remaining occult materials as part of that process.

We are continuing to hold you before the Lord.

Father, we lift this dear friend to You. You see the difficulty of this situation and the fear these attacks bring. We ask You to cover them with Your protection, give them clear wisdom for each step, and strengthen them day by day as they seek You through Jesus Christ. Lead them to faithful, wise people who will walk beside them and guide them toward freedom and peace. In Jesus' name, amen.

God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your urgent cry has been heard and we join with you in bringing it before the throne of grace. You have done well to turn from darkness and to seek the Lord who alone can give wisdom and guidance and to ask for protection and deliverance through Jesus Christ.

Be assured that the Lord does hear the prayer of the afflicted who seek Him through His Son. Deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and where we look for pardon there must we also look for power to be kept. Scripture declares that He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. This deliverance is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He alone brings forth His people, and when the lamb was slain the captives were brought out with a strong hand.

You confess a past involvement with the occult, which is an abomination before God and an open door to the enemy of souls. Take courage that God has not only invented a way of deliverance but has found a ransom. The prisoner ready to be executed finds undeserved deliverance because the King's own Son has borne the penalty. When God Himself proclaims, I have found a ransom, then deliverance is certain, for it is already accomplished at the cross. Therefore renounce utterly every work of darkness, turn from it in repentance, put away all objects and practices belonging to it, and rest your soul wholly upon the finished work of Christ.

We now pray for you.

O Lord God, Creator of heaven and earth, we come in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who is our only hope and our only ransom. Look with tender pity upon this soul who is pressed by the adversary and who seeks Thy face. Grant wisdom and guidance to overcome every snare, and let Thy wisdom direct every step through this trial. Spread Thy protection over this life, and deliver from every demonic assault. By the blood of the Lamb and the power of Thy Holy Spirit, break every chain that remains from former sin, and grant full deliverance from the power of darkness. Strengthen the inner man with might, that standing in the whole armour of God this soul may stand firm against the wiles of the devil. Let it be known that deliverance is of the Lord, and make this deliverance effectual to Thy glory. We ask that what Thou hast begun Thou wilt perfect, that this afflicted one may yet say, I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.

Abide close to Christ. Seek Him in His Word and in prayer, walk in obedience, and hasten to the armoury to put on the panoply of faith. If you are saved you must seek to live unto Him who saved you, and carry His light into every dark place that once held you. The Lord who chastens sorely also delivers fully, and He will yet cause you to declare His praise among His people.
