Prayers for relationship

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord, I come to you and ask for your help and guidance in my relationship. I ask that you give us your wisdom to help us overcome this. I ask that you help each of us heal from the trauma and pain in our lives and the pain we have caused each other over the years. I ask that you help heal his heart and bring him closer to you. Lord I ask that you help us reconcile our relationship and restore our family. I know we have the power to rebuild what we have stronger and better than before but lord we need your help. We cannot do it alone. Please help us in rebuilding what we have and repairing our foundation. I ask that you please take away all the distractions from the enemy that are against us right now so our focus solely lies on each other. I ask you to please help us in this. In Jesus name, Amen.

We hear your heartfelt cry for restoration and healing in your marriage, and we join you in lifting this before the Lord. Marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:25-33), and it is right to seek God’s wisdom and strength to rebuild what has been broken. The pain and trauma you both have endured—and the wounds you’ve inflicted on one another—are not beyond His healing touch. Scripture assures us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that He would bind up your wounds and restore the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25).

Yet, we must also speak truth in love, for the enemy seeks to distort God’s design for marriage. You mention distractions from the enemy that are pulling your focus away from one another. We rebuke every scheme of Satan that seeks to divide you, whether through bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, or temptation to stray from your vows. The Bible warns us to be sober-minded and watchful, for the devil prowls like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). We pray that God would expose any hidden sin—whether it be unconfessed hurt, emotional or physical infidelity, or a refusal to submit to one another in love—and grant you both the courage to repent and seek forgiveness.

Rebuilding a marriage requires more than good intentions; it demands humility, patience, and a willingness to die to self daily. Jesus said, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me" (Luke 9:23). This applies to marriage as well. Are you both willing to lay down your rights, your grievances, and your pride to serve one another as Christ served the church? Are you both committed to pursuing holiness, not just happiness? We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or Christian marriage mentor who can walk with you through this process. "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14).

We also lift up your husband’s heart before the Lord. You ask that God draw him closer to Himself, and this is a prayer He delights to answer. But true healing begins with repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. If either of you has not surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no lasting restoration—no true healing—apart from Him. If you have not yet placed your trust in Christ for salvation, we implore you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive Him as Lord. "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, yet full of hope in Your power to restore what has been broken. Lord, we lift up this marriage to You, asking that You would pour out Your healing balm on both of these hearts. Where there is pain, bring comfort; where there is bitterness, bring forgiveness; where there is division, bring unity. Father, we ask that You would break every chain of the enemy that seeks to destroy this union. Expose every lie, every distraction, and every scheme of Satan that has taken root in their minds or hearts. Give them both the strength to resist temptation and the humility to seek Your will above their own.

Lord, we pray for this husband, that You would draw him close to You. Soften his heart to receive Your love and truth. If he does not know You as Savior, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Let him see his need for You and grant him the gift of repentance. For this wife, we ask that You would fill her with Your peace and wisdom as she seeks to honor You in this marriage. Help her to extend grace, even when it is difficult, and to trust in Your timing for restoration.

Father, we ask that You would rebuild the foundation of this marriage on the rock of Your Word. Help them to prioritize their relationship with You above all else, for apart from You, they can do nothing (John 15:5). Teach them to love one another as Christ loved the church—sacrificially, patiently, and without condition. Where there has been sin, grant them the courage to confess and the grace to forgive. Where there has been neglect, help them to prioritize one another and their family.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against this marriage will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and unfaithfulness in Jesus’ name. We pray that You would surround them with godly influences—friends, mentors, and pastors—who will speak life and truth into their marriage. Give them the strength to persevere, even when the road is difficult, and the faith to believe that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in this marriage. May their love for one another be a testimony to Your power to restore and redeem. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.

We're praying for wisdom and guidance for you both, that God would give you the wisdom to navigate this season and the guidance to know what steps to take next. We're asking that He would bind up the wounds in both of your hearts and bring you closer to Him and to each other.

We're also praying for protection from the enemy's schemes. We rebuke any spirit of division, bitterness, or unforgiveness that's trying to creep in and destroy what God wants to restore. We ask that God would give you both the strength to stand firm against any temptations and the humility to seek His will above your own.

We're lifting up your husband, too, asking that God would draw him close and soften his heart to receive His love and truth. We're praying for both of you to be filled with peace, wisdom, and grace as you navigate this journey together.

Keep trusting in Him, dear one. He's got this. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your relationship. It has been our heartfelt honor to lift up your request before the Lord, asking for His wisdom, healing, and restoration in your lives. We have prayed specifically for the healing of past wounds, the reconciliation of your relationship, and the strengthening of your family’s foundation in Christ. We have also asked the Lord to remove every distraction and scheme of the enemy that seeks to pull your focus away from one another and from Him.

If the Lord has already moved in a powerful way and answered your prayers, we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a blessing to others who are walking a similar path. If, however, you feel that your prayers have not yet been answered, we invite you to post this request again so that we may continue to stand in agreement with you. We believe in the power of persistent prayer and the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father to work all things together for good.

May the Lord continue to draw you both closer to Himself and to each other as you seek His will. May He fill your hearts with peace, your minds with clarity, and your spirits with hope as you trust in His perfect timing. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
