Prayers for my son

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My son ### goes to court this morning on a gun charge that was his friend my son just did ### in prison going through hell and inmates wanting to kill him but God I’m asking for prayers for my son Grace and mercy and favor and for help with his mentality that the DA be fair in his situation and that closed doors be open over his life as I also face a serious situation on tomorrow so keep me lifted as well we both are in need of a turn around miracle situation God is able

We have heard your heart and we are standing with you in prayer for your son as he goes before the court this morning and for you as you face your own serious situation tomorrow. We know this is a heavy burden, to have a son in prison facing threats on his life and carrying the weight of a gun charge, and we do not take lightly your request for grace, mercy, favor, and a turnaround miracle. God is indeed able, and we are bringing both of you before His throne together.

We want to gently remind you of something important we noticed in your request. You called upon God, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share with love that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. Romans 10:9 We encourage both you and your son to call upon the name of Jesus in repentance and faith, for He is our mediator, our protector, and our only hope for true mercy and grace.

We also want to speak with loving honesty about the charge itself. You shared that the gun was his friend's but your son is taking the charge. We understand the loyalty he may feel, but God desires truth in our innermost being and He calls us to speak truth. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16 and Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. Proverbs 12:22 Taking the blame for another when it requires deceiving the court does not honor God and can bring further consequences. True mercy and favor are found when we walk in honesty and humble ourselves before God, confessing what is true and trusting Him with the outcome. He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8 We pray that your son will choose truth, take responsibility for his own actions, and seek God's forgiveness and cleansing where repentance is needed.

We are praying for his protection and for his mind. Prison is a fearful place, especially when threats are being made, but we claim the promise that He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2 and Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 We ask God to place a hedge of protection around your son, to keep him from harm, and to guard his heart and mind. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 We pray that God will heal his mentality, renew his mind, and give him the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

We join you in praying for favor in that courtroom and that the district attorney and the judge would act justly. It is joy to the righteous to do justice. Proverbs 21:15 We ask that truth would be made clear, that justice would be tempered with mercy, and that any closed doors over his life would be opened only if it is in accordance with God's perfect will for his good and God's glory. We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

We lift you up as well for what you face tomorrow. We know you are weary and in need of a miracle, and we ask the Lord to strengthen you and uphold you. Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this precious son to You right now. Lord, have mercy upon him. Forgive his sins as he confesses them to You, wash him in the blood of Jesus, and draw him into a true relationship with Your Son. Protect his life in that prison, Lord, keep him from the hands of those who would harm him, and let him feel Your presence as his refuge and fortress. Heal his mind, calm his fears, and give him a sound and clear mind to make godly decisions. We pray for the court this morning, that every lie would be exposed, that truth would prevail, and that the district attorney and judge would act with fairness, wisdom, and justice tempered with mercy. If it is Your will, open doors that have been closed over his life and set his feet on a new path that honors You. We also lift up his mother to You, Lord, You know the serious situation she faces tomorrow. Hold her, strengthen her, let her cast all her anxiety on You because You care for her, and grant her a turnaround miracle according to Your will and for Your glory. Teach them both to trust not in man but in You, and to seek first Your Kingdom. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope, Amen.

Thank you for letting us pray with you in this heavy moment. We can hear how much you love your son and how heavy these two days feel with his court date this morning and your own serious situation tomorrow.

We are praying for your son's safety while he is inside, for steadiness in his mind under so much pressure, and for fairness and clarity in that courtroom today. We are asking God to give the judge and the DA wisdom and to open the right doors for his future in whatever way God sees best. We are also lifting you up for tomorrow, for peace and strength and for people around you who can support you face to face.

It helps not to walk through court days alone. If you are able, have one trusted friend, family member or pastor with you today and tomorrow, someone who can sit with you, help you remember what is said, and pray with you in person. If your son has access to a chaplain or counselor inside, encourage him to reach out there as well for ongoing support for his mentality alongside our prayers.

Father, we bring this mother and her son before You. Cover her son with Your protection, calm his mind, and let Your grace and mercy be near to him in court. Give wisdom to those making decisions over his case. Strengthen his mom for tomorrow and provide the turnaround only You can give. We trust this family to Your care in Jesus name, amen.

No he’s not taking it because his friend wouldn’t take it the car was in my son name so he was charged and I call out to Jesus which I see I didn’t mention and I thank you for letting me no that thanks everyone for the prayers left some information out wanted to get it on here before court started my son just got done with 6yrs in prison got 3yrs left on papers he not trying to go do more time in prison he just left to go back

Your earnest cry on behalf of your son and yourself has been heard, and we join our hearts with yours at the mercy seat.

We are moved by the heaviness of this burden. To have a son stand before an earthly court this morning, bearing a charge, and to know that he has already endured the hell of prison where his very life has been threatened, is a trial that would bow any parent low. When God has distinct purposes of mercy toward a soul He often begins with stern discipline and brings low by affliction and sorrow, yet underneath even such depths there are the everlasting arms. Though friends may fail and enemies press close, hear the promise that underneath you there are the sufferings of Christ, who Himself was deeper in the mire and who knows the sting of false accusation and the loneliness of being forsaken.

We pray that the God who is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy will show Himself strong on your son's behalf. All God's mercy to a sinner is gratis. He never sells, He always gives. He acts not because of any merit in us, but because He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. We ask that this mercy would go before your son into that courtroom, for the God of mercy delights to forestall His people and to prepare provision for every individual case before it ever arises. May the Lord grant grace and favor in the eyes of the judge and cause the district attorney to act with fairness and uprightness, for justice and mercy meet together in Him whose sword of justice is held in its sheath by the hand of mercy. We pray for a full discharge where it is just, and where there is guilt, for that greater discharge which can be pleaded in the High Court of Heaven above, that through Christ who died and is risen again no charge shall stand against those who trust Him.

We pray also for your son's mind and spirit. That the Lord, the great Interpreter between God and man, would speak to his heart not in words only but with a sweet sense of mercy shed abroad within him, to soften what has been hardened by fear and to give a sound mind, a new heart and a right spirit. When the gates of society seem shut and a man is counted among the outcasts, the gates of Mercy are not shut. Jesus still walks into the prison and touches the leper and says, Be thou clean. May closed doors be opened over his life, not by our deserving but by the tender mercy of God which delights to load us daily with benefits when we trust His dear Son. We ask for a turnaround that only God is able to give, that what seems hopeless to man may become the very season chosen by God for the interposition of His mercy.

And for you, as you face your own serious situation tomorrow, we spread your case also before the Lord. Do not suppose your case too hard for Him, for nothing is too hard for the Lord, and He cares for you in temporals as well as in spirituals. While you are yet speaking He hears. He who has gone before you in the past will go before you again, and will accept even the dry bottle that would have tears if it could.

What the Gospel asks of us it also gives to us. It asks for faith in Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone salvation is found. We pray that both you and your son would look believingly to Him, for He will give a full discharge and set free those who trust Him. May you be moved not to try to move God to mercy, for He is already generous enough, but to be moved to accept the mercy He freely offers in Christ.

O Lord, our God, be gracious to this mother and her son. Keep the son from harm among those who seek his life, guard his mind, grant favor in the court, and let justice be done with mercy. Keep this mother in perfect peace as she awaits tomorrow, and let her see that underneath her also are Thine everlasting arms. Bring you both to trust wholly in the blood of Christ, that you may know forgiveness, freedom and favor, for Jesus sake. Amen.
