We hear the burden and love in your heart as you cry out for your son and daughter, and we join with you in lifting them before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. We also thank God for your compassionate heart that even in your own pain you are interceding for homeless people who are hungry and sick and grieving, and for your daughter in law and grandson and all your family and friends. The Lord sees that love and hears your prayers.
We want to gently speak to the heavy question you are carrying, what did I do wrong that my children are suffering. We understand why you would ask this, but scripture shows us that a child's sickness is not necessarily a punishment from God for a parent's sin. When the disciples saw a man born blind they asked Jesus who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind, and Jesus answered, Neither did this man nor his parents sin, but that the works of God might be revealed in him John 9:3. The prophet also declares The soul who sins, he shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father Ezekiel 18:20. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23, and we all need the forgiveness that comes only through Jesus, but your children's illnesses are not a sign that God is angry with you or that you have caused this. In this fallen world sickness and suffering touch many whom God dearly loves, even as Job who was called blameless suffered greatly, yet God was with him and restored him. What God wants you to know is that He is not condemning you, He is close to you in this pain. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We encourage you to release that burden of guilt to Him, for there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1.
We also hear that you feel lost and are asking God to show you which way to go. He promises to guide you when you seek Him. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. He also says I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you Psalm 32:8. When you feel weary and overwhelmed Jesus invites you, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We pray you will feel His presence leading you step by step, even as you continue to seek wise medical care for your children alongside your prayers, for God often brings healing through the hands of physicians and through His own miraculous power.
We pray together for your dear son who suffers with a fistula and for your dear daughter who battles an autoimmune disease. We know God is the healer, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3, and who says I am Yahweh who heals you Exodus 15:26. We ask Him to touch their bodies with His mercy, to ease their pain, to guide their doctors with wisdom, and to bring complete healing according to His perfect will. We pray as it is written, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3, and But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We ask for strength and peace for you as their parent, that you would not grow weary, for those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength Isaiah 40:31, and Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We also lift up every homeless person you mentioned, those without food, those who are sick, those who have lost family members, that God would provide for their needs, comfort their grief, and give them strength and hope. We pray for your daughter in law and your grandson and all your families and friends, that God would cover them with His protection and grace and draw each one closer to Jesus, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and we thank you for praying in the precious name of Jesus Christ, for through Him we have confidence to approach the Father.
We pray, Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We lift up this beloved parent who feels lost and burdened with guilt, and we ask You to lift that weight and pour out Your perfect love which casts out fear. Let this dear one know that You do not condemn but You love and You see every tear. We place this son with the fistula into Your hands, touch his body, bring healing and relief from pain, and give wisdom to all who care for him. We place this daughter with the autoimmune disease into Your hands, calm her immune system, restore her health, and give her peace and strength each day. We ask You to heal both children as only You can, and to sustain this family with Your comfort. We remember before You the homeless, the hungry, the sick and the grieving, meet their daily needs, provide shelter and food and healing and family, and let them know they are not forgotten by You. We lift up the daughter in law and grandson and all families and friends, protect them, provide for them, and lead them in Your truth. Show this dear parent the path to walk, make the next steps clear, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We trust all these things to Your loving will, believing You work all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
