Your gratitude for the work you have had this past year is a good and right starting point, and it honors God to thank Him for provision, for the privilege of working from home, and for His care through daily difficulties. It is also honest and understandable to admit that the night schedule has left you tired and feeling less productive and fulfilled, and to desire a morning schedule that lets you care for your health and use your days well.
The story of Job speaks to seasons like this in a helpful way. That book is one of the oldest in Scripture, and though cultures and times have changed greatly since then, the deepest needs and questions of the human heart have not. Job was a man whom God Himself described as upright, one who loved God and turned away from evil. Behind the scenes that Job could not see, there was a heavenly reality at work, and an adversary who had studied Job closely and claimed that his faithfulness was only because he had been blessed. God permitted a season of loss and testing, not because Job had done wrong, but to reveal what was already true about him.
When suffering came, three friends came to comfort Job, but they quickly became discouraging voices. They assumed his hardship must be a judgment for hidden sin and urged him to get right with God as if that would instantly fix everything. Job answered them honestly out of his grief and confusion. He did not understand his circumstances, he felt hopeless at times, and he cried out with questions. Much of what he said in that pain was the language of sorrow, not settled doctrine to build our theology on. Scripture faithfully records his cries so we can see how a real person wrestles before God.
There are truths in that book that can steady you while you wait and keep applying after three months of trying and receiving rejections. One is that God is fair and just. Even when we cannot trace His hand, we can trust His character. Another is that waiting and perseverance have value in God's sight. Job's name later became known for patience, not because he never struggled, but because he kept turning to God through the struggle and did not turn his spirit against Him.
Your desire for discipline, patience and perseverance is exactly the right prayer. It is good to ask God to guide you through each disappointment, to keep your heart from discouragement, and to help you keep learning and preparing for the next responsibility He may entrust to you. It is good to keep doing your work faithfully where you are while you look for a morning schedule with a nearer time zone that fits your needs.
Praying for you that God, who sees both what is visible and what is behind the scenes, will open the right door at the right time, and will give you strength and peace while you wait. May He renew your energy, guard your heart from weariness, help you use your days wisely, and make your next step clear. As you continue to trust Him and trust the process He is leading you through, may you experience His nearness and provision, and may you be able to receive whatever opportunity He provides with the same thankfulness you have shown for the work you have now.
