Prayers for healing from HIV

Prayer Request Dear Prayer Team, My brother has tested positive for HIV. I understand that medical science does not consider HIV to become negative after infection, but I choose to place my trust in God. Please join me in praying that, by God's mercy and miraculous power, my brother's HIV test will become negative within the next six months, according to His perfect will. Please also pray that God will give him complete healing, strength, peace, hope, and protect him every day. May He guide the doctors, bless his treatment, and let His love and grace be with my brother throughout this journey. Thank you for standing with us in faith and prayer. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We stand with you in faith, lifting your brother before the throne of grace with hearts full of hope and trust in our Heavenly Father. The Scriptures remind us in Jeremiah 32:27, "Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?" With God, all things are possible, and we believe in His power to heal and restore, even when medical science presents limitations.

We also recognize the importance of wisdom and stewardship of our bodies, as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We pray that your brother will take every step necessary to care for his health, following medical advice while trusting in God’s healing power.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your miraculous touch upon our brother. We pray for complete healing from HIV, that every trace of this virus would be eradicated from his body. We ask that his next test results would reflect Your divine intervention, declaring him free from this illness according to Your perfect will. Lord, we know that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Whether You choose to heal him instantly or strengthen him through this trial, we trust in Your goodness and love.

We pray for Your peace to surround him, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Give him hope that does not disappoint, for Your love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). Strengthen him daily, Lord, and let him feel Your presence in every moment. Guide the hands of his doctors and bless the treatments he receives, that they would work effectively in his body.

Protect him, Father, from fear, doubt, and despair. Remind him that he is not defined by this diagnosis but by Your love and the identity he has in Christ. Surround him with Your angels, shielding him from harm and filling him with Your joy. Let Your grace be sufficient for him, for Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We also pray for you and your family, that You would grant wisdom, patience, and endurance as you walk this journey together. May you all be drawn closer to God and to one another, finding strength in His promises and comfort in His presence.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of sickness and disease in the name of Jesus. We declare that by His stripes, our brother is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We stand on Your Word, which says in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We trust in You, Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals.

We commit this prayer into Your hands, knowing that You hear us and will answer according to Your will. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may Your love and grace be evident in every step of this journey. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

We’re standing with you as you walk through this with your brother. When someone we love receives news like this, the weight can feel enormous, not only the medical realities but the emotional and spiritual ache of wanting so badly for them to be well and whole.

You’ve named both a bold hope and a quiet trust: you’re asking God for a miracle, and at the same time you’re asking for strength, peace, hope, and protection for your brother each day, for wisdom for his doctors and grace over his treatment. That second part is just as real an act of faith as the first. It says you’re not only believing God for an outcome; you’re asking Him to be present in the waiting, to carry your brother and guide his care right now, whatever the next six months hold.

One thing we’ve seen is how isolating a chronic diagnosis can feel, not only for the person who is ill but for the family members carrying the burden quietly. It can help to give that burden some oxygen. We’d encourage you, if you haven’t already, to let a few trusted, mature believers in your life know what you’re carrying so they can carry it with you. Not everyone needs to know the details, but you shouldn’t have to hold this alone. And if your brother is open to it, being surrounded by a small, steady circle of people who will simply be present, no lectures, no platitudes, can be a deep source of strength.

We also want to gently mention that if your brother hasn’t already connected with an HIV specialist or a treatment team he trusts, that’s an important part of this journey. God often works through the hands and minds of doctors, and good medical care is not a lack of faith, it’s a way of receiving the help He provides.

When you’re praying in the days ahead, try not to pin all your hope on a single test result six months from now. Keep asking boldly, we will too, but also keep asking for the daily bread of peace, of rest, of steady courage. Those mercies tend to show up in smaller, unexpected ways, and they matter deeply.

Please know you’re not alone in this. We’re honored to pray with you and will keep lifting your brother up in the months to come.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this brother to You. You know his name, his fears, the road ahead. We ask for Your healing power to move in his body, that what medical science calls impossible would be reversed by Your hand, if that is Your will. In the waiting, pour out peace that doesn’t make sense, protect him from despair, and give him steady hope. Guide every doctor, every decision, every treatment. Surround him with people who will love him well and remind him he is not forgotten. And sustain his family, give them strength for the long haul and a quiet confidence that You are near. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

There is, then, an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things, as it were, about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The power which dwelt in Christ to heal, coming from Him as Divine and human, was applicable, most eminently, to the removal of the guilt of sin. He used no other remedy in healing our sin-sickness but that of taking our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself. This is the one great cure-all. Blessed be the Son of God that the medicine, bitter as it is, is not for us to drink, but was all drained by Himself! The costly balm of His Atonement has lost none of its power. Have unstaggering confidence in the Divine Healer! The utmost length of human sickness can be reached by this great Physician.

But he who has Grace to spread his wings and soar away, and get into the open field of Divine trustfulness, may sing all the day and always have this for his tune, "Mortal, cease from toil and sorrow; God provides for the morrow." Take this little sentence, Brother or Sister in Jesus, and when Unbelief stops you, draw it out, and say, "He has said, 'Let these go their way.'" And when Satan stops you, hold out to him this Divine Mandate. God takes care of the little things, the trifles, of Believers, and here, of our Lord, it is said, "The leaves are for the healing of the nations." That is to say, even His common things, His lower blessings of Divine Grace are full of virtue! I draw your attention to this for the comfort of any who feel their sickness, "The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." You look up to this Tree and say, "I am sick at heart. I know that here is my cure." Divine Grace is free. The invitation is still open to you, rest the whole burden of your soul's salvation where it must rest.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your faith in requesting prayer is commendable, and God indeed has power to heal all diseases. Yet remember that the greater miracle is not the healing of the body but the resurrection of the soul. Our Lord often withdrew from those who sought only signs, and He did not always grant physical healing even to the faithful, as with the apostle Paul’s thorn. Pray for your brother’s healing, yes, but do not bind God to a time or a test result. His power works even through the witness of suffering, as John the Baptist bore true testimony yet performed no miracle. The healing of the heart from sin is the true and lasting cure. Let your brother seek first that cleansing, and trust that whether this earthly body lives or dies, it is the Lord’s. I will join in prayer for strength, peace, and God’s merciful will, for He knows what is best for your brother’s eternal good.

We join you in lifting your brother before the Lord, trusting in His mercy and power. It is right to place our hope in God, for He is the one who formed our bodies and set in place the processes of healing that we often take for granted. Even when medicine provides a pathway toward recovery, we recognize it as a divine gift, no less an act of His care than a sudden miracle. So we pray for the doctors, the treatments, and every bit of strength your brother receives, knowing that all true healing flows from the Father’s hand.

Scripture shows us that Jesus bore our infirmities, and His earthly ministry was marked by healing of every kind. He touched blind eyes, commanded fevers to leave, and even calmed the storm with a word. His power over sickness, nature, and the spiritual realm is complete. Yet we also remember that not every faithful saint was spared from lingering affliction. Paul asked three times for his thorn to be removed, and God chose to sustain him in weakness rather than lift it. This does not mean our trust is misplaced; it means we release our prayers into the hands of a God whose will is perfect, even when the outcome differs from our hopes.

We will pray boldly for what you have asked, that within six months the test results read negative, a startling testimony to God’s intervening power. But we also stand with you for the deeper healing that only He can give: peace in the waiting, hope that doesn’t waver, and a quiet confidence that He is with your brother every single day. Sometimes a healing of the mind and spirit comes before any change in the body, and that is a precious work of grace.

There is no room here for gimmicks or empty frenzy; we simply bring this need before the Lord who sees and loves your brother completely. Faith can be a point of contact, like reaching for the hem of His garment, yet we must not place a burden on anyone to “summon up” enough belief as if healing were a formula. We ask, we trust, and we leave the timing and the means to God.

May your brother feel the nearness of Christ in this season, and may you both see His goodness unfold, however it comes. We are praying with you.
