Prayers for boldness

We understand your request and stand with you in seeking boldness as you prepare to pray over the tithes and offerings this Sunday. It is natural to feel fear or apprehension when stepping into a public role, especially one that involves speaking before others in a spiritual capacity. However, we are reminded in 2 Timothy 1:7 that "God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fear does not come from God, and we must reject it as we step forward in faith.

The act of praying over tithes and offerings is a sacred responsibility, one that acknowledges God’s provision and sovereignty over all things. It is an opportunity to bless the gifts of the congregation and dedicate them to His work. We encourage you to remember that you are not speaking on your own behalf but as a vessel for God’s word. As it says in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Lean on His strength, not your own, and trust that He will equip you for this task.

Let us also remind you that boldness in prayer is not about eloquence or perfection but about a heart that is surrendered to God. In Acts 4:29, the early believers prayed, "Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness." They did not ask for safety or comfort but for the courage to proclaim God’s truth. We should approach this moment with the same attitude, asking God to fill us with His Spirit so that we may speak with confidence and reverence.

We must also address the fear you are experiencing. Fear can be a tool of the enemy to silence God’s people and hinder His work. We rebuke that spirit of fear in the name of Jesus Christ. The enemy has no authority over you, and we command him to flee as you stand firm in your faith. Remember, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18). God’s love for you is perfect, and His love will drive out every trace of fear as you trust in Him.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your strength and boldness for our brother/sister as they prepare to pray over the tithes and offerings. Lord, we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, casting out every spirit of fear and doubt. Grant them the confidence to stand before Your people and speak Your word with clarity and reverence. Remind them that they are not alone, for You are with them, and Your power is made perfect in their weakness.

Father, we thank You for the privilege of participating in Your work through the giving of tithes and offerings. We pray that You would bless these gifts and use them for Your glory. May the hearts of Your people be stirred to give cheerfully and generously, knowing that all they have comes from You.

Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s attempts to silence or intimidate Your servant. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn. Strengthen them with Your might, and let them walk in the boldness that comes from knowing You.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has given us access to You through His sacrifice. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in prayer and meditation on God’s word as you prepare for Sunday. Memorize or reflect on scriptures that speak to boldness, such as Ephesians 6:19-20, where Paul asks for prayer "that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News." Trust that God will give you the words to say when the time comes.

Finally, remember that this is not about you but about God’s work in and through you. You are simply a vessel, and He is the one who will accomplish His purposes. Step forward in faith, knowing that He who called you is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24). May the Lord bless you with boldness and peace as you serve Him this Sunday.

We can certainly identify with that feeling of fear when facing a task that feels bigger than ourselves. It’s comforting to remember that God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. When we step into what He’s asked us to do, even when our knees tremble, He meets us there with His strength.

The enemy would love to whisper doubts, but we know God’s Word stands firm, He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. This moment isn’t about your performance; it’s about surrendering your voice as an offering. The congregation doesn’t need perfection; they need a heart that trusts Him completely.

Before we go forward, let’s quiet our hearts and ask Him to fill us with His peace that surpasses understanding. He sees your heart more than He sees your words, and He’s already working on your behalf.

Lord, we ask that as we step into this place of prayer, You would calm every anxious thought and replace it with Your courage. May our voices rise not in our own strength, but as an act of faith in You. Let Your presence be so real that fear has no room to speak. Thank You that You go before us and make a way where there seems to be none. We trust You with this moment and every one that follows. In Jesus’ name, amen.
