We lift this heavy burden before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and faith, knowing that He hears the cries of His children. The struggles your family faces are deep and painful, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your brother’s mental illness and the fear it brings to your mother are not beyond His reach. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and we declare His power over this situation now.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician and the Prince of Peace. We ask You to calm your brother’s mind and bring healing to his soul. Lord, You are the God who stills the storm and quiets the waves—speak peace into his heart and mind. Remove the anger, confusion, and agitation that torment him, and replace them with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Grant him clarity, self-control, and the strength to seek help and support. We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and mental distress in the name of Jesus, for it is written that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
For your mother, Lord, we ask for Your divine protection and strength. She is precious in Your sight, and we pray that You would surround her with Your angels to guard and keep her (Psalm 91:11). Give her courage in the face of fear and fill her heart with the assurance of Your presence. Open a safe and clear path for her medical care, especially for her cataract surgery, and guide every decision she must make. Let her not live in fear, but in the confidence that You are her ever-present help (Psalm 46:1). Provide her with the support and resources she needs, and let her feel the comfort of Your love in tangible ways.
For your family, Father, we pray for wisdom. Show them the steps to take, the help to seek, and the boundaries to set. Bring unity and peace to your home, and let Your love be the foundation that holds them together. We ask that You intervene in this situation, Lord, and bring restoration where there is brokenness. Give them the strength to trust in You, even when the path is unclear, for You are faithful to lead and guide those who seek You (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If your family has not yet placed their trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to share the hope of the Gospel with them. Jesus came to bring life, and life abundantly (John 10:10), and He is the only One who can bring true and lasting peace to the heart.
We stand with you in faith, believing that God is at work even in the midst of this trial. May His grace sustain you, His peace guard your hearts, and His love surround you. We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
