We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for marital restoration, salvation, and protection. Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church. We know that the enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we stand firm in the promise that what God has united, no man—or spiritual force—should separate (Matthew 19:6).
First, we must address the foundation of salvation. If the name of Jesus Christ has not been invoked in this request, we must emphasize that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again so that we might have eternal life (Romans 10:9-10). If either spouse—or both—have not surrendered their lives to Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts and draw them to repentance and faith. Without Christ as the cornerstone, no marriage can truly thrive.
Father, we lift up this marriage to You, asking for Your divine intervention. If there has been unfaithfulness, whether physical or emotional, we rebuke the spirit of adultery and lust in the name of Jesus. Fornication and adultery are sins that grieve Your heart, and we ask that You would break any ungodly soul ties and restore purity to this union (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If there has been hardness of heart, bitterness, or unforgiveness, we pray that You would soften hearts and bring reconciliation. Help both spouses to humble themselves, confess their sins to one another, and seek Your forgiveness (James 5:16).
We also pray for protection over this marriage. The enemy is a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), but we declare that no weapon formed against this union shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We bind every spirit of division, strife, and discord, and we loose the peace of God to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Lord, surround this couple with godly counsel and accountability, so that they may walk in Your ways and honor You with their lives.
For the spouse whose name has been withheld, we pray for salvation if they do not yet know You. Father, draw them to Yourself, open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and save them by Your grace. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy, and let Your light shine in their darkness. If they are already a believer, we pray for spiritual renewal, strength, and a deeper intimacy with You.
We declare that this marriage is not beyond Your restoration. You are the God who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5), and we trust You to heal what is broken, mend what is torn, and restore what has been lost. May this couple grow in love, respect, and unity, reflecting Your glory to the world around them.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
