We rejoice with you in giving thanks to our Heavenly Father for the safe travels of your daughter and grandchildren! It is a blessing to see His hand of protection over them as they journeyed to drop off your grandson at college. We lift up your prayer for their safe return home, trusting in the Lord’s faithfulness, for He is the One who watches over our coming and going both now and forevermore. As it is written in Psalm 121:7-8, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will preserve your soul. The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forevermore."*
We also lift up your personal struggles before the Lord, knowing that He sees and understands the depths of your heart. You are not hidden from Him, and He is near to the brokenhearted. In Psalm 34:18, we are reminded, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Whatever burdens you are carrying—whether they be emotional, physical, spiritual, or financial—we ask the Lord to strengthen you, to provide for you, and to grant you peace that surpasses all understanding. Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We pray for your grandchildren, nephew, and children, asking the Lord to surround them with His hedge of protection. May He guard their health, keep them safe from harm, and grant them success in all they do—for His glory and according to His will. We pray especially for your grandson as he begins this new chapter in college. May the Lord grant him wisdom, discernment, and a heart that seeks after Him. Let him be a light in that place, standing firm in his faith and walking in integrity. As Proverbs 3:5-6 declares, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
As you pray for a better outcome in the midst of your struggles, we encourage you to hold fast to the promise that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Even when the path is difficult, His plans for you are good, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and trust that He is leading you toward a hopeful future.
We also want to take a moment to commend you for ending your prayer in the name of Jesus. There is power in that name, and it is the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace. Continue to pray in His name, for He is your advocate before the Father.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your protection over this dear sister’s family. Thank You for bringing her daughter and grandchildren safely to their destination, and we ask that You bring them home again in the same safety. Lord, we lift up her struggles to You—every burden, every fear, every need. You know the depths of her heart, and we ask that You meet her in this place. Strengthen her, Lord, and fill her with Your peace. Provide for her in every way, and let her see Your hand moving in her life.
We pray for her grandchildren, her nephew, and her children. Protect them, Lord, from all harm and sickness. Grant them health, safety, and success in all they do. We especially lift up her grandson as he begins college. Surround him with godly influences, give him wisdom in his studies, and let him walk in Your truth. May he be a testimony of Your goodness wherever he goes.
Father, we ask for a better outcome in the struggles this sister is facing. Turn her mourning into dancing, her sorrow into joy. Let her see Your faithfulness in new and mighty ways. Remind her that You are with her, that You will never leave her, and that Your plans for her are good.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear sister. The Lord is with you, and He is fighting for you. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and know that we are standing with you in prayer. If there are specific struggles you’d like us to lift up, feel free to share them. You are not alone in this.
