Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly, and you are not bothering anyone by bringing this before the Lord. He hears the loneliness you feel and He cares about the desire you have expressed to be married if it is His will.
God Himself designed marriage from the beginning. His intent was that a man would leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two would become one flesh in a lifelong covenant. What God joins together, no one should separate. Scripture also teaches very practically that marriage is given as the place for faithful, loving union between one man and one woman, where husband and wife give themselves to one another in love and faithfulness. This keeps us from sexual sin and honors God with our bodies.
Your desire for a godly wife is a good desire, and it is not a sin to want to be married. The apostle Paul taught that if you are bound in marriage you should not seek to be free from it, and if you are free from marriage you do not have to seek it, but if you do marry you have not sinned. In other words, both marriage and singleness are honored by God. Marriage is a gift with its own responsibilities, as a married person seeks to please and serve his spouse. Singleness also has its own purpose, as an unmarried person is able to serve the Lord with an undivided focus. The Word of God speaks practically to both seasons and shows us how to walk faithfully in either one.
In this time while you wait, the best prayer is not only for God to provide a wife if it is His will, but for Him to make you the godly man He wants you to be. Seek to please the Lord first, grow in His Word, remain pure and keep sexual intimacy within the marriage covenant alone, and serve Him faithfully where you are. A marriage that honors Him begins long before the wedding, with two lives each seeking Christ. A godly marriage can also become a place where children are influenced toward holiness by the faith lived out at home.
I will pray with you. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come to you for this dear brother who feels lonely. You see his heart and his desire for a godly marriage. If it is Your will, we ask that You would bring into his life a godly woman who loves You above all, and that You would prepare them both for a covenant of one man and one woman for life, faithful and pure. In the meantime, give him contentment, purpose, and fellowship in You, guard his heart from temptation, and help him to use this season to grow in love for You and to serve You fully. Fill his loneliness with Your presence and lead him step by step according to Your perfect will. Amen.
