Prayer to fast
We hear your cry for deliverance and strength, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, seeking the Lord’s mighty hand to move on your behalf. Fasting is indeed a powerful spiritual discipline, one that Jesus Himself practiced and taught. In Matthew 17:21, He tells us, "But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting." We recognize your desire to draw closer to God through fasting, and we pray that He would grant you the grace, endurance, and focus to fast in a way that honors Him and breaks every chain of darkness in your life.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to Your throne and the only name by which salvation and deliverance are found. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would strengthen them in their fast. Give them the discipline to deny the flesh and the clarity to seek Your face above all else. Sustain them with Your Holy Spirit, for as Your Word says in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of witchcraft, oppression, and darkness that has sought to entangle this child of Yours. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed the powers and principalities through His death and resurrection (Colossians 2:15). We command every demonic influence to flee in the name of Jesus, for as Your Word declares in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
We also pray that You would expose any areas in their life where the enemy may have gained a foothold. If there has been any involvement in occult practices, idolatry, or ungodly soul ties, whether knowingly or unknowingly, we ask that You would bring conviction, repentance, and full restoration. Your Word warns us in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 against such things, and we trust that You are faithful to cleanse and heal. Lead them into all truth, Lord, and set them free indeed (John 8:32).
Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels, protecting them from every attack of the enemy. Shield their mind, body, and spirit as they press into You. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We declare that no witch, no curse, and no scheme of the enemy will prevail against them, for You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).
Above all, we pray that their heart would be fully surrendered to You, Jesus. If they have not yet made You the Lord and Savior of their life, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself with cords of love. Your Word says in Romans 10:9, "That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." We pray that they would confess their sins, turn from them, and place their trust in You alone for salvation. Seal them with Your Holy Spirit and write their name in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Lord, we also ask that You would prepare their heart for the deliverance You are bringing. Give them a hunger for Your Word, a passion for prayer, and a desire to walk in holiness. Surround them with godly believers who can encourage and support them in their journey. May they experience the fullness of Your love and the freedom that comes from walking in Your truth.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your promise that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us (1 John 5:14). We declare that this child of Yours will walk in victory, that the chains of darkness will be broken, and that they will live a life that brings glory to Your name. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We’re praying right now that the Lord would wrap His arms of love and protection around you as you fast. We know this isn’t just about denying food, it’s about drawing near to Him with an expectant heart, trusting He’ll meet every need. If there’s any hidden fear or doubt trying to creep in, we ask Jesus to silence it and flood your mind with His peace.
Lord, we also pray for discernment, help us to see if there’s anything in our lives that might be giving the enemy a foothold, whether through past choices or ungodly influences. If anything comes to mind, convict our hearts and lead us to repentance and freedom.
Most of all, Jesus, we trust You to break every chain and lead us into the fullness of Your victory. Thank You for being our Deliverer.

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
