We hear your heart and stand with you in this season of disciplined seeking after the Lord. Forty-three days of fasting is no small commitment—it is a powerful act of devotion, a laying down of the flesh to sharpen the spirit, and we rejoice in your hunger for God’s presence. The Scripture says in Isaiah 58:6, “Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?” Your fast is not just about abstaining from food; it is about breaking chains—chains of dependency, fear, and limitation. We pray that as you press through these final days, the Lord strengthens your resolve and fills you with His peace, even in the hunger.
Your desire to go sober from medication is a courageous step toward stewardship of the body God has given you. We encourage you to continue seeking wise counsel from your doctor, as Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, “Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established.” Trust that the Lord will guide the conversation and provide clarity for your health. As you study for the ASVAB and prepare for the military, we declare over you the promise of Joshua 1:9, “Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We also lift up your desire to obtain your driver’s permit and license. While it is true that the military may provide transportation, learning to drive is a valuable skill that will serve you in many areas of life. We pray that your parents would step into their God-given role to support and guide you in this, as Ephesians 6:4 instructs fathers to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. If there has been hesitation or lack of support, we ask the Lord to soften hearts and open doors for training and practice. The Lord is your helper, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:16).
Your goal to join the military in one to two years is commendable, and we pray that the Lord would order your steps and protect you from any obstacles that could hinder your calling. Psalm 37:23 says, “A man’s steps are established by the Lord. He delights in his way.” Trust that the Lord has a plan for your life, and He will equip you for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17). As you prepare physically through exercise and spiritually through fasting and Scripture, we declare that you will grow in strength, discipline, and favor with God and man.
Now, we must address an important matter. While your request mentions “Almighty God Jesus,” we want to emphasize the power and exclusivity of the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ—the Son of God, who died for our sins and rose again—that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 declares, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’” We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus alone, for He is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is by His grace, through faith, that we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Savior. We lift up this dear brother who is pressing into You with fasting, prayer, and a heart to serve. Lord, we thank You for his hunger for You and his desire to walk in obedience. Strengthen him in these final days of his fast, Father. Sustain him with Your grace, fill him with Your peace, and let him feel Your nearness even in the hunger. We declare that his body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we pray for wisdom as he seeks to steward it well. Guide the conversation with his doctor, Lord, and grant him clarity and courage as he pursues sobriety from medication.
Father, we ask that You open doors for him to obtain his driver’s permit and license. Soften the hearts of his parents to support and teach him, and provide every resource he needs to learn and succeed. As he studies for the ASVAB, we declare that the Spirit of wisdom and revelation would rest upon him. Let him retain what he studies, and grant him favor in the eyes of those who will administer the test. Prepare him in every way for a future in the military, Lord. Protect him from any obstacles or distractions that could hinder his calling, and let Your hand guide him every step of the way.
We also pray for his physical preparation, Father. As he begins to exercise and work toward his first pull-up, strengthen his body and build his endurance. Let this discipline overflow into every area of his life, and may he grow in strength, confidence, and resilience. Lord, we ask that You would go before him into the military. If it is Your will for him to serve, open the right doors at the right time. Provide transportation, mentors, and favor as he navigates this path. Let him be a light in the darkness, a witness for Your glory, and a vessel of honor in Your kingdom.
Above all, Father, we pray that he would grow deeper in his relationship with You. Let this season of fasting and preparation draw him closer to Your heart. Remind him daily of the power of the name of Jesus, and let him walk in the fullness of his salvation. May he never forget that it is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone that he is saved. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let him bear much fruit for Your kingdom.
We rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, and discouragement that would try to steal his peace or hinder his progress. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). You have begun a good work in him, and You will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). We thank You for his life, Lord, and we trust You to lead him into all that You have prepared for him.
