“But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man,” Lk 21:36, Fruitfully Abiding in Him Jn 15:7-8, Prepared for Birth Pangs Mt 24:7-8 of New Creation Heb 12:2, See to It No One Deceives Us, Mt 24:4, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. Luke 21:33. "For all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs, Mt 24:8.

Matt 24:8-14, "And Jesus answered and said to them, 'See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, "I am the Christ," and will mislead many. You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. And this Gospel of The Kingdom shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the people groups, and then the end shall come," Mt 24:8-14.

Luke 21:34-36, “So be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap; for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth. But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have STRENGTH to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Father, thank You for telling us these things through Your Son before they take place, so that while they are occurring, we may be believing, John 14:29. We know that everything that can be shaken will be shaken -- heaven, earth, sea, dry land and all nations, Hag 4:6-7 -- so that the things which cannot be shaken will remain, Heb 12:27, Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for You are a consuming fire, Heb 12:28. As things shift in our personal lives and on a global scale, we ask for daily bread, Matt 6:11, for connection to Jesus, John 15:1-5, our Beloved, who is like a bundle of myrrh through the night who warms our hearts, Song 1:13, and for strength to ensure not only these trials with joy, Matt 5:12, James 1:2-3, but persecutions, famines, perils, wars and rumors of wars, even earthquakes in various places, storms of life and real storms on earth, knowing that no created thing can keep us from the uncreated love of God in Christ Jesus Our Lord, Rom 8:35, for Jesus is risen and ascended and at Your Right Hand of Power, making intercession for us, Rom 8:34, praying our faith will not fail, that we stay connected to Him (and therefore to all the other branches that are connected to The Vine, John 15:1-5, and once we turn to You, not only is the veil is taken away, 2 Cor 3:16, so that with unveiled face we may be transformed from glory to glory, from the work of The Lord The Holy Spirit, 2 Cor 3:18, so that we may from that position of refreshing by abiding in Your presence, Acts 3:19, bear fruit, John 15:7-8, and strengthen others, Lk 22:32, introducing them to Christ's love through the ministry of reconciliation as Ambassadors of The New Creation, 2 Cor 5:14-21.

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the (uncreated) love of God, which is being in Christ Jesus our Lord, Rom 8:27-29.

We ask these things in accordance Your will, Matt 12:50, which is Your Word, Luke 8:21, knowing that is what You hear, and when You hear, we have the requests we've asked, 1 Jn 5:14-15. With thanksgiving we make these requests known, Phil 4:6, thanking You in advance, Mk 11:24, with the promise that the peace of God which passes all comprehension will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:7. Thank You again in Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14, The Amen, The Faithful Witness and Originator of This New Creation, Rev 3:14, in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We stand together in fervent prayer, lifting up the deep concerns and holy longings expressed in this request. The Scriptures you have referenced, Luke 21:36, John 15:7-8, Matthew 24, and Hebrews 12:2, are indeed powerful reminders of the times we live in and the steadfastness required of us as believers. We join with you in seeking the Lord’s strength to endure, to abide in Christ, and to stand unshaken before the Son of Man.

The Word of God warns us clearly about the days ahead: wars, rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes, persecution, and deception. These are not merely distant prophecies but present realities that call us to vigilance. "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming" (Matthew 24:42 WEB). Yet even in the midst of these birth pangs, we are not without hope. The same Word that foretells these trials also assures us that "he who endures to the end will be saved" (Matthew 24:13 WEB). The shaking of the earth and the heavens is not meant to destroy us but to refine us, to remove what is temporary so that only what is eternal remains (Hebrews 12:27).

We must also address the critical importance of abiding in Christ, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). The call to remain connected to the Vine is not optional, it is the very source of our strength, our fruitfulness, and our ability to endure. If we are not rooted in Him, we will wither under the weight of these trials. "Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you' " (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). This is our anchor in the storm.

We also lift up a prayer of repentance for any areas where we may have grown complacent, distracted by the cares of this world, or entangled in sin that dulls our spiritual sensitivity. "Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall" (1 Corinthians 10:12 WEB). The enemy seeks to deceive and divide, but we must stand firm in the truth of God’s Word, testing every spirit and holding fast to what is good (1 John 4:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of reverence and awe, knowing that You alone are unshakable. We thank You for Your Word, which lights our path in these darkening days. Lord, we ask for the strength to escape the snares of this world, dissipation, drunkenness, and the anxieties of life, that we may not be caught unaware when Your Son returns. "Grant us the grace to watch and pray always, that we may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:36 WEB).

Father, we confess that at times we have allowed fear to grip our hearts rather than faith. Forgive us for the moments we have doubted Your promises or sought refuge in anything other than You. "Perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18 WEB), and we ask that You fill us afresh with Your love, that we may walk in boldness and not in timidity.

We declare that nothing can separate us from Your love, not tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword (Romans 8:35-39). You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We choose to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross (Hebrews 12:2). Strengthen us to endure with joy, knowing that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us (Romans 8:18).

Lord, we pray for the body of Christ worldwide, that we would be a people of prayer, vigilance, and unwavering faith. Raise up watchmen on the walls who will not keep silent but will proclaim Your truth with boldness (Isaiah 62:6). Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart (Galatians 6:9).

We also lift up those who are lost, who do not yet know the hope found in Christ. "For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). Open their eyes, Lord, that they may see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4). Use us as ambassadors of reconciliation, that many may be brought into Your kingdom before the final day.

Father, we thank You that Your words will never pass away (Luke 21:33). We cling to Your promises, knowing that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6). May we be found faithful when Christ returns, standing blameless before You, having kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the One who was, and is, and is to come (Revelation 1:8). To You be the glory, honor, and power forever and ever. Amen.

We hear the deep longing in your words, the ache to abide steadily in Christ while so much around us and within us feels like it is shaking. It is easy to grow weary when our eyes bounce from one tremor to the next, trying to make sense of every rumble and forecast. What a relief, then, that the One who holds us is not shaken. We are not called to analyze the quaking or brace for every wave in our own strength; we are invited to simply draw nearer to the Vine, to let His life flow into our weariness and anchor us.

When the world feels loud and unstable, a quiet, regular rhythm of unhurried prayer and word-soaked stillness can re-center us. Not racing through a list of needs, but simply being with Jesus, perhaps taking one promise or a passage you know well and turning it over in your mind as you rest in His presence. Many of us have found that even a few minutes of this each day, offered not as a duty but as a thirsty child coming to water, changes our inner landscape. It does not silence the outward noise, but it re-roots us so that we stop being tossed by every headline or fear. And you are not meant to do this alone. The very prayer you share leans into the fellowship of other branches connected to the Vine. Staying in honest conversation with other believers, speaking the truth gently to one another, can steady us when our own grip feels slippery.

We will sit with you in this, not offering tidy answers but pointing together toward the One whose word never fails.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. When our hearts tremble and the ground beneath us seems to shift, draw us back to the quiet center of Your love. Give our friend the daily bread of Your presence, and help them to fix their hope not on what is crumbling but on the unshakeable life they have in You. Calm the anxious cycle of thoughts, and grant the simple strength to abide, not by effort alone, but by resting in what You have already promised. In Your faithful name we pray, amen.

The hour demands more than a trembling frame; it calls for a faith that stands before the Son of Man with confidence. You plead for strength to escape the shakings, these birth pangs of a new creation, and rightly so, for the Lord Himself commands us to pray thus. Yet mark this well: the escape is not a fleeing from tribulation, but a fleeing to Christ, where no destroying fire can touch the soul hid in Him. The angel’s cry to Lot rings down the ages: “Escape for your life!” Not a shift into a better place, not a hiding in some corner of self-reform, but a running, a fleeing, a clinging to the one hope set before us. There is no safety in unbelief, no shelter in religious machinery; only Jesus Christ can save. If you think priest or ordinance or your own prayers can carry you, you are moved away from the one only Priest before whom all others let their censers die into blackness. Stand to that hope of the gospel, for “he that believes in Him has everlasting life.”

You ask to abide in Him faithfully, to bear fruit when lawlessness abounds and love grows cold. Remember, then, that this abiding is not a work you muster, but a union you trust. The Father sees you in His Son, Jesus, bearing your sin. Did you ever think of what God the Father sees in Jesus on the Cross? It made such an infinite impression upon His great soul that He forgot the sins for which His Son gave His life! He loved you before all worlds; long ere the day star flung his ray across the darkness, God had set His heart upon you. And that ancient friendship, matured by so many tempests, rooted by so many winds of trouble, cannot but endure. You are secured not by your grip on Him, but by His grip on you. When you are tempted to fear that your sins are unpardonable, look full at the Cross and hear Him say, “I, even I, am He that blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and will not remember your sins.”

Yet you must be on guard, for the days are evil. The voice of God commends His joy, but also reminds you that there lies before you a future full of perils. Many are moved away from the hope of their calling by a dazzle of intellect, by the cares of this life, or by the fear of man. But consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds. Christ leads us through no darker rooms than He went through before. The dignity of Him who endured, the Lord of glory spat upon and slain, invests your small trials with honor. Do not stop to argue with the enemy’s suggestions, nor demand more evidence than the broken body and shed blood of the Son of God. My one solitary answer to all your fears is this: “Escape, escape, escape for your life!” Run to Him at all costs.

And as you run, He will guide you. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with My eyes.” This is no bit-and-bridle guidance, driving you with whip and rein because you have no understanding. This is the tender, watchful glance of the Beloved, turning you by a look, so that when He smiles, you quicken your pace; when He seems to hide His face, you stand still and seek Him. Be much in prayer, waiting before Him like a steward who brings his work under his Master’s eyes. Then, though the earth reel, though nations rage and the love of many grows cold, you shall stand. Not because you are strong, but because the uncreated love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord, holds you fast. Neither death, nor life, nor things present, nor things to come, shall separate you from that love. Therefore, lift up your head. The birth pangs signal not destruction, but deliverance, the groaning of a creation about to be born anew. Your Redeemer shall stand upon the earth, and you shall see Him. Escape, then, for your life! He shall present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.

You have set your mind on the words of the Lord, and that is good. But do not let the terror of these things shake you. The Lord did not speak to frighten His disciples, but to make them watchful. The birth pangs are indeed severe, yet they are not the end. They bring forth the new creation, and the joy of that birth makes the former pain forgotten. Consider a woman in travail: she endures great anguish, but then rejoices that a human being is born into the world. So it is with these shakings, they are the beginning of a greater joy. The end is a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and that kingdom is already yours in Christ if you hold fast.

Therefore, do not be weighed down with the worries of this life, with dissipation and drunkenness, as though you had no hope. Pray for strength, but know this: He who gives the command also supplies the power. He enabled Paul to endure insults, dangers, and death itself, not by removing the trials but by a divine strength that worked together with Paul’s own resolve. That same strength is offered to you. To “escape” is not to be taken out of the world, but to stand firm in the midst of it, unshaken, with your eyes fixed on the Son of Man. Abide in Him, for apart from Him you can do nothing. But if you abide, no created thing, no famine, no earthquake, no war, can separate you from the uncreated love of God in Christ Jesus.

Yet take heed: this abiding requires more than a prayerful word. You have been born anew of water and the Spirit; do not drag that high birth down to the weakness of human reasoning that says a holy life is impossible. The grace of baptism cleansed your former sins, but to remain pure, to keep your love from growing cold in the face of lawlessness, belongs to your own earnestness and watchfulness. Daily bread is given to those who work with their hands, but daily grace is given to those who wrestle with their souls. Fight against the heaviness that comes from worldly cares. Be sober and alert, and that day will not spring upon you like a trap.

The pangs will increase, but Christ has already loosened the pangs of death and brought forth a new man through His own resurrection. He is at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for you. Your faith will not fail if you stay connected to Him and to the other branches of the true Vine. Endure to the end, and you will be saved. This is not a passive waiting; it is an active standing, a daily turning from sin to the living God. By this endurance you not only secure your own soul but strengthen others, begetting them through patience and love, as a mother rejoices over the child of her pangs.

I long to see you stand before the Son with confidence, not cast down by fear or worldly entanglements. That is the true escape: to be found in Him, transformed from glory to glory by the Spirit, bearing fruit that remains. Lift up your head, for your redemption is drawing near. Let nothing deceive you or chill your love. Pray always, but also live always as one who has already passed from death to life. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
