Brothers and sisters in the Lord, I ask for your prayer support! We join with you in prayer and thank God for your heart for your parents and your family and for your desire to see the Lord glorified in every situation.
We stand in agreement that God desires all to come to repentance and to truly know Him. As it is written, The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. We also cling to the promise that My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27. There is no other way to the Father except through Jesus, for There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12, and we rejoice that you have lifted this request in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to God.
We also agree with you concerning spiritual protection, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12. Yet we know that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4. Every plan and intention of the enemy must fall before the power of the cross and the name of Jesus.
We bring your request for wisdom and guidance before the Lord, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. And we trust His promise that God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1, and we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up these parents to You and ask that You would draw them by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes and their ears, and grant them a true encounter with the living Christ. Remove any veil from their hearts, let them hear Your voice clearly and give them the gift of repentance that leads to eternal life. We ask that You would reveal Yourself to them as Savior and Lord and that they would place their full trust in Jesus alone.
We also ask You to rebuke and defeat every satanic plan, deed and intention formed against this dear one and their family. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, let every stronghold be torn down, and let Your name be mightily glorified in their lives and in their household. Cover them with Your protection, surround them with Your angels, and lead them in the path of Your will.
Father, grant wisdom from above for every decision and every situation, show the way out where there seems to be no way, and give peace that passes understanding as they trust in You. Guide every step according to Your perfect will and keep them in Your care. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name and we give You all the glory and praise for what You will do. Your request has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace, that God may be glorified mightily in your life and in your family in the name of Jesus Christ.
We pray with you for your parents, that the Lord Jesus Christ would graciously reveal Himself to them, that they may hear His voice and live. We ask not for a mere terror of judgment which apart from divine grace may produce only a poor and short lived repentance, but for that repentance unto life which is the gift of God the Holy Spirit. True repentance is a hatred of sin and a turning from it, with a determination in the strength of God to forsake it, and it is inseparable from faith. As you have asked, we pray that God would work this in them, that they would see their sin as Christ saw it when He was nailed to the cross for it, and that they would believe the gospel and be saved, for there is salvation in no other, and by Him all that believe are justified from all things.
We pray also concerning every satanic plan, deed and intention against you and your household. From the time when Satan fell, God's purpose has been to break down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him. That which would turn you from righteousness into sin, that which comes as a bad thought or bad doctrine to hinder the course of your life, is not from God but from the adversary, and it shall not stand. We ask the Lord to defeat every such device, to dry up every green tree of proud opposition, and to lift you up as He lifts the poor from the dunghill, that His power and mercy may be seen and His name alone praised.
And we pray for you, that God will give you wisdom, protection and a way out in every trial according to His will. This protection is promised to those who walk in appointed ways, not in the spirit of willfulness which moves without direction, but in the way of childlike trust in providential guidance. Happy is the man who waits upon God to know what he shall do and dares not lean upon his own understanding. We ask that the Lord would guide you step by step, that you would hear His direction in every difficulty and dilemma, and that His angels would keep you in all your ways as you abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
