Silas
Beloved of All
Your burden for your parents and your family is heard, and it is right to bring it before the Lord. It is good that you desire above all that they would truly encounter Jesus Christ, hear His voice, repent, and know Him as Savior. That is the greatest need any person has, and God desires that all would come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth through His Son alone, for there is salvation in no other name.
We join you in praying that the Lord will draw your parents to Himself, open their hearts to hear Him, and grant them repentance and faith. The Scripture shows that wisdom cries out openly and calls to all who will listen, and that wisdom when personified points us to Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. The world by its own wisdom did not know God, and human reasoning apart from God only leads to emptiness. God must reveal Himself by His Spirit, and He does so when the gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified is heard and believed. Pray that they will hear that simple message and that the Spirit will give them understanding.
We also join you in praying for protection and for God to defeat every evil plan and intention formed against you and your household, that He alone would be glorified. The Bible teaches that we have spiritual protection in Christ. Faith in His finished work is like a shield that quenches the fiery darts of the accuser, and the assurance of salvation in Jesus keeps us secure when the enemy tries to bring accusation and doubt. You do not have to receive his attacks. You can resist him in the name of Jesus, stand firm in what Christ has done, and rejoice that God has given you His Spirit and spiritual weapons to repel what is evil. God is able to keep you and to make His power known on your behalf.
You asked for wisdom, protection, and a way out according to His will, and that is exactly what God promises to give. Wisdom is the principal thing, and Scripture urges us to get wisdom and with all our getting to get understanding. To love wisdom and to keep her instruction is to be preserved and kept in the right path. The beginning of that wisdom is the fear of the Lord, which is to hate evil and to walk in His ways. The wisdom that comes from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, and it leads to a life of purity and peace. The wisdom of this world is earthly and brings envy and strife and every evil work. Ask God for His wisdom from above, and He will give it liberally. He also promises that He will not allow you to be tested beyond what you can bear, but will provide a way of escape so that you can endure and walk in His will. Keep your eyes looking straight ahead, ponder the path of your feet, and turn away from evil, trusting Him to establish your steps.
We pray that the Lord will give you clear discernment for every situation you face, guard you and your family under His hand, make His voice known to your parents, and bring them into true repentance and life in Christ. May He guide you daily, strengthen you by His Spirit, and lead you in His perfect will for His glory.
