Dear Lord, thank you for your goodness. I pray for good rest, for my wife’s health for her, for protection for ###, for financial favor and a cost effective solution to my car issue, and against lustful

We join you in thanking our good and gracious Lord for His goodness, for His steadfast love endures forever and His mercies are new every morning. We lift up your requests together before the throne of grace in Jesus' name.

We pray with you for good rest. The Lord desires to give rest to His beloved, for He gives sleep to his loved ones Psalm 127:2 and Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We ask the Father to quiet your mind and body at night, to grant you deep, peaceful and restorative sleep, and to guard your heart from anxiety.

We also bring before the Lord the health of your wife. We thank God for the gift of marriage, for marriage is honorable in all Hebrews 13:4 and is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that reflects Christ's love for the church. We pray for your wife's complete health and strength, that the Lord who heals us Exodus 15:26 would restore health to her and heal her Jeremiah 30:17, and that you both would be strengthened to honor and cherish one another in this holy union.

We pray for protection for your loved one whose name was redacted. We ask that the Lord will keep and watch over them, for He will keep you from all evil, He will keep your soul Psalm 121:7 and The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We ask for His angels to guard and His hand to cover them wherever they go Psalm 91:11.

We bring your financial needs and your car issue to the Father as well. We know that our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and when we seek first His Kingdom, all these things will be added Matthew 6:33. We pray for financial favor, for wisdom to make a cost effective and honest solution for your car, and for provision that allows you to be a good steward of what He has entrusted to you, without anxiety or greed.

We also hear your heart against lustful thoughts and we want to address this with love and truth. Lust is not a small struggle, Jesus taught that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. We are called to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. We encourage you to make a covenant with your eyes as Job did Job 31:1, to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace 2 Timothy 2:22, and to take every thought captive to Christ. When temptation comes, God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape 1 Corinthians 10:13. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We pray for a pure heart, Create in me a clean heart, O God, renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10, and for you to set no vile thing before your eyes Psalm 101:3 and to dwell on whatever is true, pure and honorable Philippians 4:8.

We noticed you prayed to the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9. It is by His name we pray and are heard.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You grant our brother restful sleep, touch and strengthen his wife with Your healing hand and bless their marriage, place Your hedge of protection around his loved one, provide financially and open the door to an affordable, honest and lasting solution for his car, and give him victory over lustful temptation, cleansing his heart and renewing his mind. Help him to walk in purity, in faithfulness to his wife and in devotion to You. We trust Your will and Your provision, and we ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We appreciate you coming to us with such an honest and full heart, starting with thankfulness even while you are carrying a lot. We hear your desire for real rest, for your wife's health, for protection over your loved one, for God's help with finances and the car repair, and for strength against lustful thoughts. It makes sense those would feel connected, when sleep is short and money is tight, temptation can feel heavier.

You are not alone in wanting to walk faithfully here. One thing we have seen help many who struggle in this area is not trying to fight it alone. Having one trusted, same-sex friend or pastor who knows the real struggle and can check in weekly, honestly and without shame, takes away the isolation where temptation grows. It can also help to notice when you are most vulnerable, often when tired or stressed, and to make a simple plan ahead of time to remove easy access and turn to something else, like prayer, a walk, or calling that friend.

We are also praying for your wife's health and would encourage you to keep her medical providers involved alongside prayer, and for wisdom and favor as you look for a fair, cost-effective fix for the car.

Father, thank You for Your goodness to this brother and his family. We ask You to grant him deep rest, to watch over his wife and bring her strength and healing, to protect his loved one, and to provide wisdom and provision for the car need. Give him a clean heart and steady mind, and surround him with trustworthy support as he seeks to honor You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer mingled with thanksgiving is good and acceptable before the Lord, for you begin as every prayer should begin, with gratitude for His goodness. We join our hearts with yours and bring these petitions to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ alone, for there is one Physician and one Fountain opened on Calvary, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

We pray first for good rest. It is written, so He giveth His beloved sleep. There is a sleep of contentment and a sleep of security which the Lord bestows upon His own, not the sleep of the sluggard nor the sleep of lust by which Samson lost his locks and awoke stripped and ruined. We ask the Lord to grant you that holy sleep which refreshes the weary frame and quiets the anxious mind, that you may lie down in peace and sleep, for the Lord maketh you to dwell in safety. May He keep you from the sleep of Gethsemane and help you to watch and pray.

For your wife we entreat the Great Physician. In heaven grows the Tree of Life and the leaves thereof are for the healing of the nations. There is abundance of healing virtue in Christ, not only in His greater works but even in the leaves, the little things about Him, to restore and keep the soul and body. We pray that His healing hand may be laid upon her, to strengthen her, to restore her health, and to keep her in perpetual health till the glory life begins. May the Lord be her keeper and her shade.

For protection we ask the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps to set His charge over you and your household. He who has promised that they who sleep in Jesus are still united to Him will keep those who trust in Him by day and by night. May He guard you from danger seen and unseen, and keep your feet from falling.

For your financial need and the trouble with your car, we look to Him who is our familiar Friend and who is alive to hear and to supply. Worldlings do not understand on what terms we are linked with Christ, but we know He cares for the smallest trials of His people. We pray that He would grant you favor and wisdom, and provide a cost effective remedy, that you may be kept from that sore temptation which comes with pressing want, when the cries of necessity might tempt a man to turn aside. The Lord knows how to deliver and how to provide bread for His children.

And against lustful temptation we pray most earnestly with you, Lead us not into temptation. Though temptation in itself is trial from God, yet it is perilous to the soul, and our Lord has taught us to pray to be kept from it. We must not desire to be tried, nor must we go into temptation when we have prayed to be kept from it. We ask the Lord to withdraw not His grace but to pour it upon you afresh, that you may overcome evil and turn from every lust of the flesh and every wandering of the eye. Remember how many have tried high resolves in their own strength and failed, but Christ is able to make you clean. Look to Him for all things, and He will give you power to forego that lust and to walk more Christian like, by His Spirit and not by your own strength.

May the Lord hear this prayer, keep you watching and not sleeping as do others, and grant you to know the peace of one who is beloved of the Lord and kept by His power.
