Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this praise and prayer request and for giving thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ even in a long season of waiting. Four years of research and development with large investment and no income yet is a heavy burden to carry, and it is understandable that you would feel both the weight of it and the encouragement of seeing development at last begin to come. We will join you in continued prayer for your son and for this hydroponics work.
One truth to hold onto is that God always leaves room for Himself to work as He desires. In the law there was a provision for the cleansing of a leper, though leprosy was incurable by human means. God made a way so that if He chose to heal, there was a place for that healing to be recognized. In the same way we should not put God in a box and decide what He can or cannot do. What looks impossible or incurable to us is not beyond Him, and we can give Him allowance to work in this business in ways we cannot yet see.
Scripture also teaches practical wisdom for business. Slackness in work tends toward poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich, and the one who gathers in season is wise. God delights in honest dealings, in just weights and fair measures, and He calls those in business to be upright and straightforward. A good reputation for honesty will speak over time, while perverse dealings destroy. Pride brings shame, but with humility comes wisdom, and riches themselves do not deliver in the day of wrath, but righteousness does. Pray that your son will be diligent, honest, humble and faithful in every detail of this work, trusting that God honors that kind of integrity.
Remember too the first recorded words of Jesus, that He must be about His Father's business. That was not a mere ought or should, but a must that shaped His whole life. Our first calling is to be about the Father's will. When a business is placed under that purpose, it can become more than income. There are examples in Scripture of those who were successful in their trade and used what God gave them to open their homes and serve the church. Pray that whatever success God gives in this research would be used to honor Him and bless others.
Often God brings us to the end of our own resources so that we learn to trust Him more deeply. It is freeing to stop fretting and worrying and to place the burden on Him and rest. He has ways and methods we have never thought of. Investors and customers are important, but our trust is not to be in the arm of man but in the Lord Himself. This work ultimately belongs to Him, and we are servants who rest in His care while we do our part faithfully.
We pray with you that God will grant your son wisdom, perseverance and favor, that He will provide the right investors and customers according to His will, that He will establish the work of his hands, and that through this long process your son will grow in trust and in commitment to be about the Father's business above all. May the Lord give you peace as you wait on Him, and may He show His provision in His perfect time and way.
