Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your honest prayer request. Your longing for inner peace, for security, for restful sleep, for hope and joy about the days ahead, and for a meaningful day at work where you know God's love and can be a blessing to others, is deeply understood. I have prayed for you and want to encourage you from Scripture.
True peace is not only something God gives, it is who He is for you in Jesus Christ. Through the finished work of Jesus on the cross, those who were once far off and without hope and without God in this world have been brought near. He Himself is our peace. That means your standing with God does not shift with how you feel or how the day went. It rests on what Christ has already done. When you are at peace with God through forgiveness of sins, that war inside begins to quiet and you can know peace within your own heart. Scripture promises that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said to His disciples, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The world offers temporary calm that fades, but His peace remains and guards the heart even when circumstances are unsettled. As you turn your thoughts to Him, especially when you lie down to rest, that quiet trust allows His peace to settle over you.
Hope and peace belong together, and both are inseparable from God. Apart from Him there is no real or lasting hope, which is a tragic way to live. But when you belong to Him, hope becomes living and sure because Jesus rose from the dead. You have more than a wish that things might get better. You have a living hope, a blessed hope, an abounding hope anchored in His resurrection and in His promise to come again and to keep you as His child. The God of hope wants to fill you with all joy and peace as you believe, as you trust His Word. That is how hope does its work. Through patience and comfort from the Scriptures, and through the Holy Spirit working in your heart by that Word, hope grows and overflows. The result of that hope is joy instead of heaviness and peace instead of inner turmoil. When the soul is cast down and restless, the answer Scripture gives is to put your hope in God, to desire His work and to expect Him to act, and then the soul finds rest.
God also wants to work in you so that He can work through you. Before He accomplishes His purposes through your life, He forms His peace and hope within you, even through hard and testing seasons. You may want to move quickly to the big work, but He is faithfully preparing your heart first. That preparation is not wasted. It is what makes you able to bring His love into ordinary places like your workplace. The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable, and those who sow peace reap a harvest of righteousness. Jesus calls peacemakers His children. As you go to work, you can be an instrument of His peace, offering kindness, patience, and grace to each person you meet, sharing by your words and actions the truth of the Father's love that has welcomed you.
I pray for you now that the Lord will ordain peace for you and watch over you. May He forgive and cleanse you through Christ, quiet your heart, and grant you deep and restful sleep as you trust Him through the night. May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace in believing, so that hope abounds in you by the Holy Spirit and by His Word. May you feel His love and security today and in all the days to come, and may He make your day at work fruitful, guarding you and using you to be a blessing and a source of His peace to everyone you encounter.
