I would be grateful for prayers that I may find inner peace and a sense of security, and simply sleep well. That God may bless and protect me. That I may feel hope, joy, and security regarding tomorrow and all days to come; that I may have a good day at work, feel God’s love and security, and be a blessing to the people I meet there. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We join you in thanking God that you have brought these desires before Him and we count it a privilege to lift you up together in the name of Jesus. Your longing for inner peace, security, restful sleep, and hope for the days to come is very close to the heart of our Father, who wants you to rest in His love and care.

The Scriptures remind us that true peace is not found in circumstances but in Christ Himself. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We are also promised, You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3, and Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. John 14:27.

For your sleep and sense of security, we hold to His promises that He watches over you even in the night. In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Psalm 4:8. When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet. Proverbs 3:24. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones. Psalm 127:2. We are encouraged to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. And for your hope regarding tomorrow, we remember, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.

For your workday and your desire to be a blessing, we pray you may know that whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23, so that your presence reflects His love to those you meet.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the precious name of Jesus and we lift up this dear one to You. We ask that You bless and keep them, that You make Your face to shine upon them and be gracious to them, that You lift up Your face toward them and give them peace. Numbers 6:24-26. Lord, quiet their heart and mind with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard their heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Grant them deep, restful, uninterrupted sleep and let them lie down in safety under Your watchful care. Remove anxiety about tomorrow and fill them with hope and joy, reminding them that Your steadfast love is new every morning and Your plans for them are good. Bless their work this day and in all days to come, give them strength, favor, and a clear mind, and let them feel Your nearness and Your unfailing love. Make them a vessel of Your grace and a blessing to every person they encounter, that others may see Your light in them. We trust You to answer according to Your perfect will. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every care to Him in prayer throughout the day and as you lie down at night, and to rest in the assurance that He who neither slumbers nor sleeps is keeping you. May you experience His love more deeply and walk in the security that you are held in His hands today, tomorrow, and all the days to come.

Your longing for inner peace and security and for quiet sleep is exceedingly desirable, and we hope you will never be satisfied until you are filled with joy and peace, and enjoy very much of them. Yet we must put the matter in its true order, for joy and peace are the soul's flower, and faith is the root. There are many who have a kind of joy and a kind of peace which will not stand, for it rests upon the sand of their own imaginations and not upon the rock of Divine Truth. That sacred faith which looks to Christ brings joy and peace as a consequence, and if you get faith into the ground, joy and peace will come of it. Do not seek joy and peace first and then say, now I believe, for that is to put the cart before the horse. Look to Christ and His wounds which still stream with mercy, trust Him alone for salvation, and in believing you shall have joy and peace.

The word of promise is, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. This peace is a present possession and may be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life, even with thronging duties pressing and with sorrows surging round. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and when the mind is stayed upon Him, there is a heavenly light even in the midnight of this world of care. Keep your thoughts upon Christ, commune with Him often, and you shall find that to do the will of Jesus is rest.

Your desire for security regarding tomorrow and all days to come has a sure answer in the Shepherd of the sheep. To His own He gives eternal life, and they are in His hands. He grasps them as a man holds a treasure in his hand and says, it is mine, and none shall pluck them thence. Neither shall any take them away from being under His protection. If you are His by faith, you have not a mere hope that may fail, but security and certainty, for no sheep of Christ shall ever be lost whom He has purchased with His blood. Know it and feel the joy of it, for nothing binds the heart to the Lord like a strong belief in His changeless love.

And concerning sleep, we are told, So He giveth His beloved sleep. There is a sleep of security which is enjoyed even in the midst of the greatest troubles, as David said, I will lay me down and sleep, for Thou Lord makest me to dwell in safety. It is the Lord who makes His beloved to dwell in safety, and therefore sleep becomes His gift. Seek not that carnal security which lulls the soul into forgetfulness of God, but that holy security which comes from being kept in Jesus. When you lie down at night, commit yourself anew into those hands from which none can pluck you, and He will give you rest.

For tomorrow and for your labour, remember that the joy of the Lord is your strength and your beauty. Your Lord desires that your joy may be full, a joy which no man takes from you, for it rests upon this, that Christ rose from the dead and ever lives to keep you. If a man is at peace with himself through Christ, he is peaceful with others, and one of the best medicines for a good temper and a useful life is communion with God and consequent joy of heart. Go to your work, then, not in your own strength, but asking that you may receive, that your joy may be full, and that you may prove the reality of your faith and make your religion attractive to others.

We will pray for you, that the God of hope will fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost, that you may be kept in perfect peace, that you may sleep quietly as one beloved of the Lord, that you may know yourself secure in the hands of Christ, that tomorrow and all days to come may be faced with hope, and that at your work you may feel the love of God and be made a blessing to those you meet, to the glory of Him who alone is our salvation.
