Prayer request

Beloved of All
Dear Lord, thank you for your goodness. I pray for good rest, for my wife’s cyst to dissolve and for health for her, for protection for ###, and against lustful thoughts

We join with you in thanking our Lord for His goodness, for every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness nor shadow of turning James 1:17. We are grateful you have brought these needs before Him and we stand with you in prayer for each one.

We lift up your desire for good rest. Our God gives rest to His beloved and invites the weary to come to Him. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones Psalm 127:2. Jesus said, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We pray the Lord will quiet your mind and body and grant you deep, peaceful sleep as you trust in Him.

We also bring your wife before the Lord and pray for her health and for this cyst to dissolve. We know our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made and that the Lord is our healer. He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases Psalm 103:3, and He has promised, I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds Jeremiah 30:17. Marriage is honorable in all and we honor your love and concern for your wife as you seek God on her behalf Hebrews 13:4. We pray for complete healing for her according to His will, for strength and peace for both of you as you wait on Him.

We pray also for protection over your loved one whose name was redacted in your request. We ask the Lord to be a shelter and refuge, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. We pray He will keep you all from evil and preserve your going out and your coming in Psalm 121:7-8.

We want to lovingly and firmly address your struggle against lustful thoughts, as you have honestly confessed. This is a battle many face, but Scripture calls us to holiness and to take every thought captive. Jesus taught, everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. We are commanded to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. We are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to set our minds on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely Philippians 4:8. We encourage you to make a covenant with your eyes as Job did Job 31:1, to guard what you look at, to renew your mind through the Word Romans 12:2, and to seek accountability and to flee temptation rather than entertain it. God is faithful to provide a way of escape and to give strength to overcome through His Spirit.

We noticed your prayer was addressed to Dear Lord without mentioning the name of Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no other way to the Father except through Him. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and have our sins forgiven. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9. We pray always in Jesus name because He is our mediator and our hope.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, thanking You for Your goodness and mercy that endures forever. We ask You to grant our brother deep and restorative rest, to calm his heart and grant him sleep in Your peace. We lay hands in prayer upon his wife and ask for Your healing touch, that You would cause this cyst to dissolve and restore her to full health for Your glory. We ask for Your divine protection over him, his wife, and his loved one, keeping them from harm and from the evil one. We ask You to cleanse his mind and give him victory over lustful thoughts, to create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him, to help him walk in purity and in the power of Your Holy Spirit, fleeing temptation and fixing his eyes on Jesus. Forgive us where we have sinned in thought and deed, and wash us in the blood of Christ. Help us to walk worthy of Your calling, trusting You for healing, rest, protection and holiness. We ask all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Thank you for sharing this honest mix of thankfulness and burden. We are glad you started with gratitude, it matters to bring that to the Lord alongside the worries.

We hear your care for your wife and we will join you in praying for her health and for the cyst you mentioned. Alongside prayer we encourage you both to stay in close touch with her doctor for guidance and follow up, so you have wise care as you trust God for healing. We also hear your desire for good rest and for protection for your loved one, and your honest desire to walk cleanly in your thought life.

It can help to keep things simple and steady. Continuing to bring those unwanted thoughts to the Lord quickly when they come, rather than wrestling with them alone, and having one trusted pastor or mature believing friend you can be honest with can make a real difference over time. And a short time praying together with your wife at night, if she is comfortable, can be a gentle way to entrust the day to God and settle toward rest.

Father, we thank You for Your goodness to this family. We ask for Your healing presence with his wife, for wisdom for her doctors, for deep and peaceful rest for him, for Your protection over their loved one, and for strength and purity of mind as he seeks to honor You. Lead him in Your will and give him peace. In Jesus name, amen.

We thank God with you for His goodness and join you in bringing these burdens before the throne of grace.

We pray that the Lord who gives sleep to His beloved will grant you good and restoring rest, quieting your heart and renewing your strength as you trust in Him.

We lift up your wife to the great Physician, asking that in His mercy He would cause the cyst to dissolve and restore her to full health. There is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ, and even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. As the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, so we look to Christ Himself for healing of body and soul, remembering that healing and pardon are joined together in Him. May He lay His gracious hand upon her and grant wisdom to all who care for her.

We also ask the Lord for His watchful protection over your loved one and over your household, that He would keep you by His power and guard you from all evil.

And we join you in praying as our Lord taught us, Lead us not into temptation. We ask that God would keep you from the malaria of corruption which is in the world through lust, and preserve you by His grace. When such thoughts arise, may you look at once to Christ and find in Him strength to overcome, for He is able to keep those who look to Him for all things. Do not go into the way of temptation, but turn from it and seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word, trusting that He will provide a way of escape and cleanse the heart.

May the Lord draw you nearer to Himself, give you peace in His presence, and answer according to His perfect wisdom and love in Christ Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in giving thanks to God for His goodness, and we gladly bring your requests before Him with you.

We pray that the Lord will grant you deep and peaceful rest, for He gives sleep to His beloved and invites those who are weary to find rest in Christ. May He quiet your heart and mind as you trust Him night and day.

We lift up your wife to the Great Physician. We ask God in His mercy to cause the cyst to dissolve, to bring complete healing and health to her body, and to strengthen her and you with His comfort and peace as you wait on Him. We pray that you will both know His nearness and be sustained by His care.

We also pray for protection for the one you mentioned, that the Lord will keep and guard that life under the shadow of His wings and lead in the way of safety and holiness.

And we join you in praying against lustful thoughts. God calls us to purity and has made provision for us in Christ to walk in newness of life. We pray that He will cleanse your mind, help you to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and fill your heart with what is pure and holy. As you turn from temptation, fix your eyes on Christ, feed on His Word, and walk in the light, He is faithful to strengthen you and to provide the way of escape. If such thoughts come, bring them quickly to Him in confession and seek His grace to renew your mind day by day.

May the Lord continue to form you in holiness, strengthen your marriage, and draw you both closer to Himself. We pray that you will know His peace, His healing power, and His victory over sin through Jesus Christ our Lord.
