Prayer request

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for allowing us to pray with you. Your anxiety and fear before this blood test are understood, and we are bringing your requests before the Lord.

There is an important difference the Bible shows us between having peace with God and having the peace of God in our daily lives. Peace with God comes only through Jesus Christ, because He made peace through the blood of His cross. Scripture teaches that the life is in the blood and that it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. God taught His people to have a deep reverence for blood for this reason, and that reverence points us to something greater. Jesus did not enter the presence of God with the blood of animals, but with His own blood, once for all, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Because of that one sacrifice there is no need for any further offering. If you have trusted in Christ, you have been brought from darkness into His kingdom and you have peace with God. That is the foundation for everything else.

The peace of God is the rest He wants you to experience each day in the midst of fear and uncertainty. The Bible warns us not to come short of the promise of entering His rest through unbelief, but to enter in by trusting Him. Many who have peace with God have not yet learned to live in the peace of God, to have a heart at rest. The promise is that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. The apostle Peter speaks of a peace that passes all understanding, a peace the world cannot understand, which guards our hearts and minds in Christ.

That perfect peace does not come from trying harder or from telling ourselves that everything is fine when our hearts are still in turmoil. Scripture says there is no real peace while the heart is at war with God, and to say peace, peace when there is no peace is a false healing. True peace comes when we submit to God, rest in what Christ has already finished from the foundation of the world, and keep our thoughts fixed on Him. As your mind turns toward Him in trust, His peace begins to fill your heart. It does not mean you will be perfect or that you will never feel weakness, but that God is at work and He is able to do what you cannot do for yourself.

In that rest we can also trust His protection. To be hidden under His protection is to stay close to Him, under the shelter of His care, rather than wandering into fear on every side. He searches the heart and knows all that concerns you, including your desire to feel safe and for your privacy and integrity to be guarded both now and in the future.

We are praying for you specifically in the way you asked:

We ask the Lord to lift this severe anxiety and fear and to give you His perfect peace as your mind rests on Him. We pray that you will sense His nearness and feel safe, hidden and kept under His protection, and that your privacy and integrity will be protected. We pray that the Lord will provide a kind and understanding person to take the blood test, that the process will go smoothly, that the results will be good, and that there will be no need to repeat it. We pray for His help, encouragement and support through every step, so that all will work out for the best and you will feel comforted and at ease afterward.

May you know both the peace with God that comes through the blood of Jesus and the daily peace of God that keeps your heart as you trust Him. We continue to hold you in prayer and ask God to ordain peace for you and to let you experience His care in a very personal way.

Father, we bring this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. You know the fear and anxiety surrounding this blood test. We thank You that through the blood of Jesus we have peace with You and access to Your presence. We ask now for the peace of God to guard this heart and mind. Keep this person in perfect peace as trust is placed in You. Cover with Your protection, guard privacy and integrity, provide a kind and gentle hand to do the test, grant favorable results with no need for repetition, and give encouragement and strength so that afterward there is relief and thankfulness. Let Your rest be known in a deep way. In Jesus name, Amen.
