We join you in thanking the Lord for His goodness, for He is good and His loving kindness endures forever and it is right to come before Him with a thankful heart. We stand with you in prayer for good rest, for the health of your loved ones, for the healing of those with lung issues and the heart issue you mentioned, and for quick healing according to His will.
We bring your request for good rest before the Lord, for He gives sleep to His beloved as it is written Psalm 127:2 and we are reminded to come to Him when we are weary for rest, Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Psalm 4:8 says In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Lord alone, make me live in safety. We pray that He will grant you peaceful, restorative sleep and guard your heart and mind through the night.
We also lift up those you mentioned who are in need of healing. We pray for the one with lung issues and the one with the heart condition, and for each loved one on your heart. We know the Lord is our healer, Exodus 15:26 says I am the Lord who heals you, and Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise the Lord, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord. We ask for His mercy, for His healing touch, and for wisdom for any doctors and caregivers, trusting that His will is perfect even as we ask for quick and complete healing.
We also want to address with love and truth what you shared about lustful thoughts. We commend you for being honest and wanting victory in this area, and we must gently rebuke and correct this as Scripture calls us to purity. Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. We are called to flee from sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Lustful thoughts are not harmless, they take root in the heart and lead us away from holiness. God calls us to take every thought captive, 2 Corinthians 10:5 says bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and to fill our minds with what is pure, Philippians 4:8 says whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things. We encourage you to flee temptation, to turn away quickly, to renew your mind daily in the Word, to pray immediately when those thoughts come, and to seek accountability with a mature believer if needed. Psalm 51:10 says Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. He is faithful to forgive and to cleanse and to give you strength to overcome, 1 Corinthians 10:13 says God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
We noticed your prayer was addressed to the Lord, and we want to encourage you to come always in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is by His name we pray and are heard.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy toward us. We ask in the name of Jesus that You grant our friend good, deep and peaceful rest, that You quiet every anxious thought and let them lie down in Your peace. We lift up each loved one on their heart, especially those suffering with lung issues and with the heart condition, and we ask for Your healing hand upon them, for quick recovery, for restored health and strength according to Your perfect will. Guide the hands of those who provide care. And Father, we ask for cleansing and victory over lustful thoughts, create a clean heart and renew a right spirit, help our friend to take every thought captive to Christ, to flee temptation and to walk in purity and holiness by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Forgive us where we have sinned and strengthen us to live in a way that honors You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
