Your prayer for your father has been heard with deep compassion, and we join you in bringing him before the Lord in his suffering with obstructive jaundice and this painful itching, and in the heavy burden of having spent all you have for his care.
It is right that you have submitted everything to God, for He is not distant from our afflictions. Though He is the unoriginate God, His Son took our flesh and suffered to be called Son of David, so that He might make us sons of God and make the Lord our Father. By His Spirit poured into our hearts we cry Abba Father, and the Spirit Himself bears witness that we are children and heirs of God through Christ. Therefore you may come with confidence to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone we have salvation and access to God.
Scripture also teaches us that to care for the body for health is good and needful. We are not to make provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts, but we are to seek what restores health and strength, as one would use medicine for infirmity. Your desire to seek continued treatment for your father is right and honoring to God, and we pray that God will provide what you lack.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift up this father who is seriously ill. You see his body afflicted with jaundice and constant itching, You know his weakness and his pain, and You know the fear and exhaustion of his family who have spent all they have. Have mercy upon him and grant relief. We ask that You would ease his itching, restore the flow of health in his body, and guide the hands of the doctors who care for him. Grant wisdom to those who treat him and open a way for the treatment he still needs. Where money has failed, show Your provision, whether through Your people, through help that is near, or through Your own gracious hand. Give this family peace that passes understanding, strength for each day, and a firm trust in Your fatherly care. Above all, let them know the comfort of being Your children in Christ, and let their hope rest fully in Him. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our only Savior and Healer. Amen.
Continue to cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. Keep seeking the medical help that is needed, and make your need known also to faithful believers near you, that they may bear this burden with you and help as they are able. The Lord who sees what you have already given in love for your father will not forsake you. May He grant you perseverance, and may His will be done with mercy and grace upon your father and your whole household.
