We lift up your father before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, asking our Heavenly Father to intervene in this time of physical distress. The Bible tells us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." We stand on this promise, believing that God hears our cries and is able to restore health and strength.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, asking for Your healing touch upon this beloved father. You are the God who sees every detail of our lives, and You know the number of his days. We ask that You would lower his bilirubin levels, cleanse his liver, and restore his body to full health. Your word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We claim this healing in the name of Jesus, trusting that You are working even now.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for the medical professionals treating him. Guide their hands and minds, Lord, as they care for him. Give them insight into the best course of treatment, and let Your peace surround him during this time of uncertainty. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in his life, we pray that You would bring it to light and grant him the grace to repent and seek Your forgiveness. We know that sin can sometimes open the door to physical affliction, as seen in 1 Corinthians 11:29-30, "For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy way eats and drinks judgment to himself if he doesn’t discern the Lord’s body. For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep." We ask that You would cleanse his heart and draw him closer to You through this trial.
We also pray for you, his child, who is carrying this burden. May the Lord fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding, as Philippians 4:6-7 promises, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Lean on Him, for He is your strength and refuge.
Finally, we declare that by the stripes of Jesus, this father is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We speak life over his body and command every organ to function as You designed it to, Lord. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity and command it to leave in the name of Jesus. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already ours through Christ. We trust in Your perfect will and timing, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
