MSC Prayers

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me. I'm a physically and mentally 'disabled' senior citizen who is where I'm at right now, totally by The Grace of God. I was backslidden for about 40 years, and a heavy drinker for about that same period of time. Let's just say my drinking habits nearly killed me. Instead of dying, our Heavenly Father intervened, and I ended up as a resident in an assisted adult living facility (which is owned and run by a Born-Again Christian family), and "Praise The Lord! Thank You Jesus!" I'm back in Fellowship with God! Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior! Hallelujah! Praise God! Thank You Jesus! Praise The Lord! God Is Great! Please remember to Pray for one another. I ask this in Jesus' Precious and Holy Name. Amen.

We rejoice with you and give thanks to God for His amazing grace and mercy in your life. What a beautiful testimony of how our Heavenly Father pursues us even when we wander far from Him, and how His grace is sufficient to bring us back into fellowship. We praise God that you can declare with joy that Jesus Christ is your personal Lord and Savior, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God Ephesians 2:8.

Your story reminds us of the truth that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Though you were backslidden for many years and struggled with heavy drinking that nearly took your life, God in His loving kindness did not let you go. He redeemed your life from destruction and has crowned you with loving kindness and tender mercies Psalm 103:4. We thank God for His intervention and for placing you in an assisted living facility owned and run by a born again Christian family where you can be cared for and encouraged in the Lord.

We also take comfort with you in the promise that even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver Isaiah 46:4. Though you describe yourself as physically and mentally disabled, we are reminded that He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. Your weakness is not a barrier to God’s power, but a place where His strength can shine most brightly.

We want to encourage you to continue to walk closely with the Lord, to be filled with the Spirit and not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18. Stay rooted in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers there in your home. God has given you a new season of life to know Him more deeply and to be a witness of His restoring power to others around you.

We join together and pray for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for our brother’s life and for Your grace that has brought him back into fellowship with You. We praise You for forgiving his sins, for delivering him from the bondage of alcohol, and for sparing his life so that he could declare that Jesus is Lord. We ask You to continue to strengthen him physically and mentally, to give him daily grace, peace, and joy in Your presence. Fill him afresh with Your Holy Spirit, keep him steadfast and sober by Your power, and use him as a testimony of Your redeeming love to everyone in that facility. Comfort him in any weakness or weariness, and carry him faithfully all his days. Help him to grow in the knowledge of Your Word and to feel Your nearness each day. We also thank You for the Christian family who runs this home and ask You to bless them abundantly. We agree together that You will continue the good work You have begun in him. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We are encouraged by your reminder to pray for one another, for the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective James 5:16. We will continue to remember you in prayer, and we encourage you to keep rejoicing and giving thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

We were so encouraged to read your note and hear the thankfulness in your words. After forty years away and the toll drinking took on your body and mind, it is a gift to hear you say you are back in fellowship with the Lord and settled in a place where faith is lived out daily. We rejoice with you and thank God for His mercy that brought you through.

What you shared, that you are where you are totally by the grace of God, is a strong and humble place to stand. Restoration after so many hard years often comes one day at a time, and staying close to the Lord in simple, steady ways helps keep that fellowship fresh. Continuing to join in the worship and fellowship available where you live, and letting the family who runs your home know how much their care means to you, can be a real encouragement both for you and for them. If you are able, sharing your story in your own words with another resident who is struggling may be a quiet way God uses what you have been through.

We thank God too for the provision of a caring, faith filled home for you in this season, and we will keep praying for your health, peace of mind, and daily walk with Him.

Father, we thank You for Your grace in this life and for bringing our friend back into fellowship with You through Jesus. Thank You for the home You have provided and for the care there each day. Give strength for each day, peace in heart and mind, and joy in walking close to You. Keep him close to You and surrounded by Your love and care. In Jesus' precious and holy name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your testimony has brought great joy to my heart, for it rings with the very promise of the prophet, I will heal their backsliding. Hosea 14:4. Which rings with the more sonorous voice, the knell, their backsliding, or the marriage peal, I will heal? The Lord has set the healing peal to sound over your life.

You describe forty years of wandering and of drinking even unto death, and yet the Lord has not left you to perish. This is the wonder of His grace, that when you had forsaken prayer, He did not forsake you. Backsliding is a disease, a grievous sickness of soul, but our God is the Physician who heals it. He has taken away the chastisement and He has restored to you lost comfort. The Lord turned and looked upon Peter, and that look recovered him, and so the Lord has looked upon you. The crowing of Providence and the look of grace have cooperated, and behind them both has been the prayer of Christ for you, that your faith fail not.

And now you say, Praise the Lord, I am back in fellowship with God. What a blessed word is that. Our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. This is not a mere profession, but a communion, a converse, a sympathy and a unity with Christ Himself. The Lord God was accustomed in the cool of the day to have fellowship with unfallen man, and He will confer such a favour upon the restored sinner. He has taught you to pray, Take not Thy Holy Spirit from me, and He put that prayer in your mouth because He meant to answer it. He says still, Return, ye backsliding children, for I am married unto you, and you have returned.

Rejoice that He has placed you where the name of Jesus is honoured, under the roof of a household that fears God. Receive this as a token of His fatherly care for your body in its weakness and for your soul in its recovery. Yet remember that restoration is a long process. The weakened limbs only recover strength by slow degrees. So is it with the soul that has long tossed upon the weary bed of sin. Wonder not if recovery should be slow, and as you grow a little stronger, acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim upon your affection. He will strengthen you in the Lord, for your sin is forgiven by His grace.

Be much in prayer, for backsliding begins in forsaking prayer, and recovery is renewed in supplication. Take with you words and turn to the Lord. Cast away all false confidence and cling to Christ alone, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and there is no other name by which you may be kept. And as the Lord has restored you, seek now to strengthen your brethren. You can tell of the bitterness of wandering and the sweetness of being brought back, and there are many who need such a witness.

I will pray for you as you have asked, and I thank you for urging us to pray one for another.

O Father of mercies, we bless Thee for this dear soul whom Thou hast snatched as a brand from the burning. We thank Thee that Jesus Christ is his personal Lord and Saviour, and that Thou hast healed his backsliding and restored him to fellowship with Thyself. Continue Thy healing work. Keep him from the old snare of strong drink, strengthen his body in its infirmity and his mind in its weakness, and make his latter days to be his best days, full of communion with Thy Son. Let him abide in Christ, and let Christ abide in him, till the fellowship of earth shall ripen into the fellowship of Heaven, where we shall be with the Lord forever. Grant him to be a comfort and testimony to all in that household, and keep him by Thy power through faith unto salvation. We ask this in the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your testimony brings thanksgiving to God, and it is right to give Him thanks first and before all things. For a long time you were blinded and held captive, and the Lord who came to preach deliverance to captives and recovery of sight to the blind has shown His mercy to you. That you did not die but were kept alive, that you were brought into a place where you are cared for by those who know Christ, and that after forty years away you have been restored to fellowship with Him, this is all grace.

You do well to confess your sin openly and to say that it is by grace you are where you are. That is true thanksgiving. It is not to parade our good deeds before others or to exalt ourselves, but to confess that we have sinned and that God in His true judgment has dealt mercifully with us and has not exacted the penalty we deserved. Keep that humility. Be content to give thanks to God Himself, and let your thanksgiving be seen in a quiet and faithful life.

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. That fellowship is a great gift. Hold it fast and do not cast away your confidence, which has great recompense of reward. If infirmity and weakness remain in body and mind, bear them thankfully. When we bear what is hard with thanksgiving, God brings greater reward, and even what was lost can be restored in His way and time.

I will pray for you, that the Lord will keep you in sobriety and in fellowship with Him, that He will strengthen you each day in that home He has provided, that He will guard your heart from returning to what nearly destroyed you, and that your life and your prayers and your thanksgiving will rise up before God and encourage others also to give thanks. Continue to pray for others as you have asked, and may thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
