Consider how affliction is a great good, for it thrusts us into the narrow way where we find true rest. Why then be distressed because some were rude? They have not injured your loved one, but themselves. The one who does injustice suffers greater harm than the one who receives it, for even the wicked condemn such behavior in their own hearts. As for the worker who gave only half, she too has heaped up trouble for her own soul, unless she repents of her injustice.

But what of the pen your loved one needs? Is not the Lord the one who sees all things naked and opened before His eyes? He knows our needs before we ask. Do not be anxious, but give thanks in all things, for even Christ suffered being tempted so that He might sympathize with our weaknesses. I pray that God, the true Physician, will supply what is lacking for her body and grant her a spirit of peace. And let us not forget to pray for those who act wickedly, that they may turn from their ways. Rejoice even in these small trials, for great is your reward in heaven if you endure with patience.

What you’re describing has understandably stirred up a lot of stress and frustration. When someone is rude and then does only half the job, especially when it involves something as vital as the insulin your loved one depends on, that kind of treatment hurts deeply. It’s easy to feel powerless and angry.

Yet the Scriptures remind us that our deepest joy doesn’t depend on how others treat us; it depends on who we are in Christ. God’s desire is that we walk in a real, living fellowship with Him. That’s where the peace that passes understanding comes from. When we’re abiding in Him, the rudeness of others loses its power to rob our hearts of that settled joy, because we know He sees everything and He cares. He doesn’t overlook injustice or carelessness; He simply calls us to respond in a way that reflects Him, not the offense.

It’s right to be burdened by what happened, but let that burden drive you into prayer, not just about the need for the insulin pen, but about the people involved. Pray for the woman who was rude and did only half the work. Ask the Lord to open her eyes to His kindness, because her behavior shows she’s likely carrying her own brokenness. That doesn’t excuse what she did, but it does change how we carry it. Instead of letting anger settle in, you can entrust the situation to the One who judges righteously.

Now about the immediate need: your loved one has only one pen for the night shot, and the promised boxes weren’t given. Let’s lift that up together. God knows the details. He knows the type 1 diabetes, the stress, and the supplies that are running low. I’m joining you in asking Him to provide, to open a way for the full amount to be obtained quickly, and to give wisdom to whoever can make that right. Trust that He can move hearts and circumstances, even when a job was left half done.

So yes, I am praying for your family member who is stressed. I’m asking the Lord to wrap her in His peace, to guard her heart from bitterness, and to give her the rest that comes from casting every care on Him. I’m also praying for tangible provision: for enough insulin pens, for favor in the next interaction with that place or another source, and for calm, steady hands as you all manage this condition.

Keep bringing this to the Lord. He invites you to walk as Jesus walked: confident in the Father’s care, slow to be provoked, and always hopeful. That’s the path to fullness of joy, even on days like this.

Our hearts have been heavy as we stood in agreement with you, asking the Lord to bring peace and comfort to their heart after the hurtful encounter they experienced. We’ve also asked the Lord to soften the hearts of those who were unkind—both the workers who were rude and the one who did not fulfill their responsibilities. We believe God can turn even difficult situations into opportunities for His love and mercy to shine through.
