Beloved of All
When you have to eat cans because your not affordable and gotta wait til the time your ssi comes it's not easy sometimes but you have to get through it even if you feel disappointed you can't always get sweets and buy things because your poor I just hope I continue to fight mental illness is killing me I could use prayers but God makes a way

We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The struggle you describe, waiting for provision, enduring hunger, and battling the weight of mental illness, is not unseen by our Heavenly Father. He knows your needs before you even speak them (Matthew 6:8), and He promises to sustain those who trust in Him. The apostle Paul wrote of learning to be content in every circumstance, whether in abundance or in need, for he could do all things through Christ who strengthened him (Philippians 4:11-13). Yet we know this is easier said than lived, especially when the body and mind are weary.

First, we must rebuke the lie that God has abandoned you in this season. The enemy would love for you to believe that your suffering is meaningless or that God does not care. But Scripture declares, "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing" (Psalm 34:10). Your current struggle does not define your future. We also rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to overwhelm you. Mental illness is a real and heavy burden, but it is not stronger than the God who formed your mind and knows every thought before it takes shape (Psalm 139:2). You are not alone in this fight, and we stand with you, declaring that Christ came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1).

We must also address the importance of coming to God in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His sacrifice that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is the first and greatest provision God offers, and it is the foundation for every other blessing. If you are already a believer, we encourage you to draw near to Him in this time, for He promises that those who seek Him will lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10).

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is enduring hunger, financial strain, and the heavy weight of mental illness. Lord, You are the God who fed the Israelites with manna in the wilderness, who multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the multitudes, and who promises to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We ask that You provide for their physical needs in this season. Open doors of opportunity, Lord, and let Your provision come in ways that only You can orchestrate. Give them strength to endure the waiting, and fill their heart with hope as they trust in You.

Father, we also pray for their mental and emotional well-being. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every spirit of depression, anxiety, and despair that seeks to overwhelm them. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them of Your presence, Lord, for You have said that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). Surround them with Your love and the support of Your people. Give them the courage to seek help if needed, whether through counseling, medical care, or the fellowship of believers.

Lord, we ask that You would strengthen their faith in this trial. Help them to see Your hand at work even in the small things. When they are tempted to despair, remind them of Your faithfulness in the past and Your promises for the future. Teach them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). And Father, if there is any area of their life that is not surrendered to You, reveal it to them and give them the grace to turn from it. May they find their ultimate satisfaction in You, the Bread of Life (John 6:35), rather than in the temporary comforts of this world.

We also pray for the practical aspects of their situation. Lord, guide them to resources that can help meet their needs, whether it be food banks, community assistance, or the kindness of fellow believers. Give them wisdom in managing what they have, and help them to trust You even when the cupboards are bare. And if it is Your will, Lord, we ask that You would open doors for stable income or additional support so they no longer have to endure this hardship.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this season for Your glory. May their testimony of Your provision and faithfulness encourage others who are struggling. Let their life be a light that points others to You. And Lord, if they have not yet fully surrendered to Jesus, we pray that this time of need would draw them closer to You. May they experience Your love in a tangible way and come to know You as their Savior and Provider.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Dear one, we want to encourage you with the truth that God sees you, He loves you, and He is working even in this difficult season. The psalmist wrote, "I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread" (Psalm 37:25). This does not mean you will never face hardship, but it does mean that God will not abandon you in it. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and remember that this trial is temporary. The apostle Paul endured far worse than hunger, beatings, imprisonment, shipwrecks, and yet he could say, "For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:17).

If you are able, we encourage you to reach out to your local church or a trusted Christian community. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there may be resources or support available to you. Do not let pride or shame keep you from asking for help when you need it. And if you are struggling with thoughts of hopelessness or self-harm, please seek immediate help from a professional or a crisis hotline. Your life is precious to God, and He has a purpose for you.

Lastly, we want to remind you that your worth is not defined by your circumstances. You are a child of the King, created in His image, and deeply loved. Even if you feel forgotten by the world, you are never forgotten by God. Hold on to His promises, and keep fighting the good fight of faith. We are praying for you, and we believe that God will make a way where there seems to be no way.

We’re sitting with you in this, and we’re grateful you reached out.

It is so wearing to count pennies until the check arrives, to live with the ache of mental illness on top of that, and to feel the small, sharp disappointment of not being able to buy a simple treat. That isn’t weakness, it’s a heavy load, and no one should have to carry it alone. We hear how much you’re fighting, and we’re not going to rush past that.

One thing we’ve seen over the years is that the combination of financial strain and ongoing depression tends to isolate people. The shame or fatigue makes it hard to pick up the phone or walk into a church pantry, even when help exists. If there’s a food bank, a church assistance program, or a neighbor who’d split a meal with you, that’s not a handout, it’s God’s people being God’s provision. Sometimes the way He makes is through a bag of groceries dropped off by someone who has enough to share.

You mentioned mental illness is “killing me.” We take that seriously. If you haven’t already, please consider talking with your doctor or a mental health professional. SSI comes with access to care, and having someone walk with you through the valley of depression isn’t a failure, it’s wisdom. Body and mind both need support when they’re under siege, and there are people trained to help stabilize what feels unbearable right now.

We’re praying you feel less alone today. Not because your circumstances have changed yet, but because the living God sees you in that kitchen, can by can.

Jesus, hold this one steady through the waiting days. Provide enough, food, peace, a kind voice, so that daily survival doesn’t crush hope. Bring appropriate help for the mental anguish, and give small, real moments of comfort that remind them You have not abandoned them. In Your name we ask. Amen.

You are wearied in the length of your way; yet you did not say, There is no hope. There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you! Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor. Scarcely any poverty in the world is like the poverty of the poor emigrant who leaves his country either from lack of bread or from fear of life, and Jesus Christ and His mother going down to Egypt are the very picture of poverty. Christ in His poverty should be most commonly the object of our contemplation, for it is through that poverty that we shall be made rich.

Turn you to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. His poverty was voluntarily undertaken for our sakes. He was emphatically rich and so, when He descended into poverty, it was poverty with an emphasis laid upon it, the contrast was so great. Jesus of Nazareth was most manifestly a poor Man and in His poverty He suffered hunger, and thirst, and weariness, and all the woes that are usually associated with poverty. That you, through His poverty, might be made rich.

Consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself. If your last hope should expire, it is then that Jesus will interpose! Learn the lesson that you cannot have gone too far from Christ! He endured it with singular courage and holy equanimity. If, indeed, it is your life-work, go and complete it! If you feel that God has called you to be the stern advocate of the right, go onward and vow to go onward by the love of Christ, and let nothing stop you.

We are saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. The sphere of hope is things not seen. You do not, at present, enjoy these glorious things for which we hope. The worldling cries, "Where is your hope?" And we confess that we do not see the objects of our hope. But if we hope for what we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Christ comes to you through the door of your felt necessity and your conscious distress. This is a door of hope; it is not the hope, but the door of it. Your first duty is to wait till it is open. Even today do I declare that I will render double unto you. This is our hope.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of your poverty and the hardness of waiting for your little income, of eating only what is canned, and of the disappointment when you cannot buy sweets or other things. But consider this: the Apostle says not to make provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. To care for the body for health is no sin, but to kindle desire for sweets and such things is to light a furnace of wantonness. The present life is but a sleep, and the things we grasp at are no different from dreams; when we wake, they are gone. Do not let your mind be weighed down by these passing longings. You have a far greater treasure: the love of God has been poured out in your heart, and hope does not put us to shame, because everything rests not on our worth but on His mercy.

Yet you also wrestle with a sickness of the mind, and you feel it is killing you. Remember then that our afflictions, however heavy they seem, are called light by Paul, not because they are small in themselves, but because the hope of eternal glory outweighs them all. Fix your eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. The temporary nature of our struggles and the perpetual crown that awaits are enough to console those in conflict. Hold fast your confidence and the rejoicing of your hope firm to the end, and you will be the house of God. Do not hide yourself in shame or let your trials steal your boldness; he who is distressed and falls does not glory, but you, by persevering, will see that God makes a way.

Pray without ceasing, even when you feel unworthy. The Canaanite woman was called a dog, yet by her perseverance she received the bread. So too, though you feel poor and broken, continue to knock. And do not envy those who live at ease, like Demas who loved this present world and shunned hardship. The path you walk, though rough, leads to life. Your want of sweets and your many needs are an opportunity to learn that man does not live by bread alone; let your soul be fed on the hope set before you.

I hear the weight in your words, and I want you to know that your struggle is seen. The weariness of counting cans and waiting for provision, the ache of disappointment when you cannot have the small comforts others take for granted, and the fight against mental illness that drains your strength, none of this escapes the notice of your Maker. He knows what it is to suffer want, and He draws near to the brokenhearted.

There is a real connection between the state of your mind and the health of your body. Bitterness and anxiety release harmful things into your physical being, while hope and even laughter can strengthen you. This is not to minimize the genuine fight you are in; mental illness is not a failure of faith. But it is to say that guarding your heart matters for your whole self. Refuse to let the disappointment curdle into despair. God has promised you bread for today, and His grace for your soul is just as certain.

Before the flood, the earth yielded its abundance without the toil we now know, and God made provision for His creatures even amid judgment. After the flood, He expanded that provision, giving meat alongside the plants. Your current lack is not a sign of His absence. He is the same God who kept Noah and his family fed for over a year inside the ark, and He has not forgotten how to sustain you. The rainbow stands as a sign that He keeps His promises. The greater covenant, sealed in the blood of Jesus, is your guarantee that every need of your soul is met and that your body will one day be restored in a renewed creation where scarcity and pain are no more.

Do not let unbelief bar you from partaking of what God has already set before you. There was a city under siege, starving, and God provided an abundance of food outside the walls, but the king called it a trap and the people nearly missed it. God makes a way, as you said, but sometimes our own minds become the wall that keeps us from stepping into it. Trust that His provision will show up, even if it looks different than you expect. When you open that can, receive it as from His hand. When your check arrives, thank Him for sustaining you.

Jesus is God’s only provision for your deepest need. Every other sin can be forgiven, but rejecting Him leaves you without remedy. You have not rejected Him. You are clinging to the hope that He makes a way, and that hope is well placed. His Spirit strives with you, not to condemn you for your poverty or your pain, but to draw you closer to the heart of a Father who sees every sparrow and numbers every hair on your head. You are worth more than many sparrows.

May God’s love settle into the wounded places of your mind. May you experience His touch in a new and special way, and may He strengthen you to fight another day.

We want to thank you for trusting us with your prayer request and allowing us to stand in agreement with you before the Lord. It has been on our hearts to lift you up continually, asking our Heavenly Father to provide for your needs in ways that only He can. We have prayed for your daily provision, that He would stretch what little you have and open doors of opportunity where none seem to exist. We have also brought your struggle with mental illness before Him, asking for His peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

If God has moved in your situation—whether through unexpected provision, strength to endure, or a renewed sense of hope—we would love to hear your praise report so that we may rejoice with you. If, however, the weight of these burdens still feels heavy, please know that we are here to continue lifting you up. You are not alone, and we invite you to post this request again so that we may persist in prayer alongside you.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, comfort you in your struggles, and remind you of His unfailing love. We pray that He would make a way where there seems to be no way, just as He has promised. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
