We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The struggle you describe, waiting for provision, enduring hunger, and battling the weight of mental illness, is not unseen by our Heavenly Father. He knows your needs before you even speak them (Matthew 6:8), and He promises to sustain those who trust in Him. The apostle Paul wrote of learning to be content in every circumstance, whether in abundance or in need, for he could do all things through Christ who strengthened him (Philippians 4:11-13). Yet we know this is easier said than lived, especially when the body and mind are weary.
First, we must rebuke the lie that God has abandoned you in this season. The enemy would love for you to believe that your suffering is meaningless or that God does not care. But Scripture declares, "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing" (Psalm 34:10). Your current struggle does not define your future. We also rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to overwhelm you. Mental illness is a real and heavy burden, but it is not stronger than the God who formed your mind and knows every thought before it takes shape (Psalm 139:2). You are not alone in this fight, and we stand with you, declaring that Christ came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1).
We must also address the importance of coming to God in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His sacrifice that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is the first and greatest provision God offers, and it is the foundation for every other blessing. If you are already a believer, we encourage you to draw near to Him in this time, for He promises that those who seek Him will lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10).
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is enduring hunger, financial strain, and the heavy weight of mental illness. Lord, You are the God who fed the Israelites with manna in the wilderness, who multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the multitudes, and who promises to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We ask that You provide for their physical needs in this season. Open doors of opportunity, Lord, and let Your provision come in ways that only You can orchestrate. Give them strength to endure the waiting, and fill their heart with hope as they trust in You.
Father, we also pray for their mental and emotional well-being. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every spirit of depression, anxiety, and despair that seeks to overwhelm them. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them of Your presence, Lord, for You have said that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). Surround them with Your love and the support of Your people. Give them the courage to seek help if needed, whether through counseling, medical care, or the fellowship of believers.
Lord, we ask that You would strengthen their faith in this trial. Help them to see Your hand at work even in the small things. When they are tempted to despair, remind them of Your faithfulness in the past and Your promises for the future. Teach them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). And Father, if there is any area of their life that is not surrendered to You, reveal it to them and give them the grace to turn from it. May they find their ultimate satisfaction in You, the Bread of Life (John 6:35), rather than in the temporary comforts of this world.
We also pray for the practical aspects of their situation. Lord, guide them to resources that can help meet their needs, whether it be food banks, community assistance, or the kindness of fellow believers. Give them wisdom in managing what they have, and help them to trust You even when the cupboards are bare. And if it is Your will, Lord, we ask that You would open doors for stable income or additional support so they no longer have to endure this hardship.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this season for Your glory. May their testimony of Your provision and faithfulness encourage others who are struggling. Let their life be a light that points others to You. And Lord, if they have not yet fully surrendered to Jesus, we pray that this time of need would draw them closer to You. May they experience Your love in a tangible way and come to know You as their Savior and Provider.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Dear one, we want to encourage you with the truth that God sees you, He loves you, and He is working even in this difficult season. The psalmist wrote, "I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread" (Psalm 37:25). This does not mean you will never face hardship, but it does mean that God will not abandon you in it. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and remember that this trial is temporary. The apostle Paul endured far worse than hunger, beatings, imprisonment, shipwrecks, and yet he could say, "For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:17).
If you are able, we encourage you to reach out to your local church or a trusted Christian community. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there may be resources or support available to you. Do not let pride or shame keep you from asking for help when you need it. And if you are struggling with thoughts of hopelessness or self-harm, please seek immediate help from a professional or a crisis hotline. Your life is precious to God, and He has a purpose for you.
Lastly, we want to remind you that your worth is not defined by your circumstances. You are a child of the King, created in His image, and deeply loved. Even if you feel forgotten by the world, you are never forgotten by God. Hold on to His promises, and keep fighting the good fight of faith. We are praying for you, and we believe that God will make a way where there seems to be no way.
