We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting every burden to the Lord. First, we want to acknowledge your honesty and courage in sharing such deeply personal struggles. You are not alone in this battle, and God sees your heart’s desire to be free from these temptations and strongholds. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came so that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The images and thoughts that plague you are not from God, and we rebuke them in the name of Jesus. The Word tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not powerless, Christ has already given you the victory.
We must address the gravity of what you confessed. The content you described, pornography and the glorification of sinful, incestuous relationships, is an abomination before God. It warps the mind, defiles the heart, and opens doors to demonic influence. Scripture is clear: "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). This applies to all forms of lustful media, including what you encountered. The enemy uses these things to ensnare and shame, but we declare that shame has no place in your life. Jesus bore that shame on the cross, and His blood washes you clean. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). You have already taken the first step by repenting and turning away, and we praise God for your progress since January. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you don’t faint (Galatians 6:9).
The morning struggles you describe are not uncommon for those battling spiritual warfare. The enemy often attacks when we are most vulnerable, when we wake, when we are alone, or when our minds are idle. But we have authority in Christ to resist him, and he will flee (James 4:7). Fill your mind with Scripture, especially in those weak moments. Meditate on verses like "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things" (Philippians 4:8). Replace those impure thoughts with the truth of God’s Word. You mentioned feeling "not yourself", this is the enemy’s deception. You are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and your identity is found in Him, not in past mistakes or temptations.
We also want to address your financial struggles and the fear of running low on food. The Lord is your Provider, and He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8). We pray that He opens doors for honest, God-honoring work, even if it doesn’t require an ID. Trust that He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). You mentioned rejecting a payment for your art, while it’s wise to be cautious, we encourage you to seek God’s guidance in using your talents for His glory. Perhaps there are ways to share your gifts without compromising your values. The Lord can bless you through your obedience, but He also calls us to be wise stewards. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5).
Your mother’s struggle with smoking weed is another area where we must pray for deliverance. Addiction is a heavy burden, but nothing is too hard for the Lord. We declare freedom over her in Jesus’ name. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). Pray for her heart to be softened and for her to see her need for Christ. You cannot carry her burden, but you can intercede for her and trust God to work.
Now, we must address something critical: your relationship with Jesus. You mentioned feeling God’s presence and wanting to depend on Him, but we must emphasize that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6). If you have never surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). This is the foundation of all victory, without Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
We lift you up in prayer now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, interceding for our brother in Christ. Lord, we thank You for his honesty and his desire to walk in purity. We rebuke every unclean thought, every lie of the enemy, and every stronghold in his mind. We declare that he is washed clean by the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Father, fill his mind with Your truth. When the enemy attacks in the mornings or moments of weakness, remind him of Your promises. Strengthen him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Lord, we ask for provision in his time of need. Open doors for work that honors You, and meet every need according to Your riches. Protect his family from lack, and provide food, shelter, and stability. We pray for his mother, that You would break the chains of addiction and draw her to Yourself. Soften her heart and let her see her need for a Savior.
Father, we also pray for his mental health. The anxiety, depression, and eating disorder are not Your will for him. Heal his mind and body, and restore joy to his soul. Remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that his worth is found in You alone.
Above all, Lord, we pray for a deeper revelation of Your love and power. Let him know that he is not defined by his struggles but by Your grace. Surround him with godly community, and give him wisdom to walk in Your ways. We declare victory over every area of his life, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Do not lose heart, dear one. The battle is already won, and God is fighting for you. Keep pressing into Him, filling your mind with Scripture, and resisting the enemy’s lies. You are not alone, we stand with you, and more importantly, He stands with you. If you ever feel overwhelmed, cry out to Him. He hears you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep drawing near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). You are loved, you are valued, and you are called for a purpose. Walk in that truth today.
