We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting every burden to the throne of grace. First, we want to affirm that your desire for purity and a clean mind is godly and pleasing to the Lord. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The images and thoughts that plague you are not from God, and we rebuke them in the name of Jesus. The apostle Paul writes, "For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). You are not powerless, you have the authority in Christ to take every thought captive and replace it with what is true, noble, pure, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).
The content you were exposed to is indeed sinful and perverse, and it grieves the Holy Spirit when such darkness takes root in the mind. But we rejoice that you have turned away from it since January 2025, and we encourage you to continue resisting the devil so he will flee from you (James 4:7). When those thoughts arise, do not entertain them, immediately replace them with Scripture, worship, or prayer. Memorize verses like "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word" (Psalm 119:9) and "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10). You are not defined by your past struggles, but by the blood of Jesus, which cleanses you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
We also want to address the spiritual foundation of your prayer. You mention feeling close to God, but we must emphasize that salvation and access to the Father come only through Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not already, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, this is the only way to be saved (Romans 10:9). Without Christ, our prayers are powerless, but with Him, we have boldness to approach God’s throne (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus, we pray you would do so today.
Your financial struggles and need for provision are heavy on our hearts. The Lord knows your needs before you ask Him (Matthew 6:8), and He promises to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We pray for a work-from-home opportunity that aligns with your gifts and does not require an ID, may the Lord open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Until then, trust that He is your provider. You mentioned rejecting a payment for your art, while it is wise to be cautious, we encourage you to seek godly counsel about opportunities that honor the Lord. Perhaps the Lord allowed that offer to test your dependence on Him, but He may also use your talents for His glory in ways you haven’t yet seen.
Your mother’s struggle with weed is a bondage we pray is broken. Addiction is a spiritual battle, and we declare freedom over her in Jesus’ name. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). We pray she would experience the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and turn to Him for true satisfaction.
For your mental health, we pray for healing and stability. The mornings are hard, but we declare that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). You are not alone in your struggles, even the apostle Paul pleaded with the Lord to remove his "thorn in the flesh," and God’s response was, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). Your weakness is an opportunity for God’s strength to shine. We also pray for your eating disorder, may the Lord restore your body and mind, and give you a healthy relationship with food as nourishment from Him (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
For your family’s immediate needs, food and shelter, we cry out to the Lord. He fed the Israelites with manna in the wilderness, and He can provide for you in miraculous ways. "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:31-33). We pray for a breakthrough in your housing situation and for the lawyer involved to act with justice and compassion.
Let us pray for you now:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is fighting for purity, provision, and peace. Lord, we rebuke every unclean thought and image that has taken root in their mind. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus, and renew their mind by Your Word. Give them strength to resist temptation and fill their thoughts with what is holy and pleasing to You. Father, we ask for a work-from-home job that meets their needs without compromising their values. Provide for their family’s daily bread and open doors of opportunity. Break the chains of addiction in their mother’s life, and set her free by the power of Your Spirit. Heal their mind and body from anxiety, depression, and disordered eating. Lord, be their refuge in the mornings when despair is heaviest. Surround them with godly community and remind them they are never alone. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Bless their art, their family, and their future. May they grow in faith, trust, and dependence on You alone. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."
Keep pressing into the Lord, even when it feels impossible. He is faithful, and His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). You are not forgotten, God sees you, loves you, and is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). We stand with you in this battle, believing for victory in every area of your life.
