We come before the throne of grace with you in this time of deep need, lifting up your hearts to our Heavenly Father, who knows your struggles and cares for you more than you can imagine. It is beautiful that you have called upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we find hope and salvation. As Scripture assures us, *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Your faith in crying out to Him is a testament to your trust, and we join you in seeking His will.
The burden of providing for your family, especially as your child begins college, is a weighty responsibility, and we understand the emotional toll this season of waiting has taken on you. Two years of seeking employment can feel like an eternity when the pressures of embarrassment, guilt, and the fear of social stigma weigh heavily upon your hearts. But take courage, for the Lord has not forgotten you. His timing is perfect, even when it does not align with our desires. *"Wait for Yahweh. Be strong and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh"* (Psalm 27:14, WEB). This is not a passive waiting but an active trust—one where you continue to seek Him, serve Him, and prepare yourselves for the doors He will open.
We must also remind you that while the world may measure success by financial stability or social standing, God measures it by faith, obedience, and reliance on Him. The stigma you fear is man-made, but your worth is found in Christ alone. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB). Let these words sink deep into your spirits. The Lord is not ashamed of you; He is your provider, your shield, and your honor.
As you seek employment, we encourage you to examine your hearts and ensure that your trust is fully placed in Him, not in the opportunities themselves. Have you sought His wisdom in how to prepare for the roles you desire? Are there skills or areas of growth the Lord may be calling you to develop during this season? *"Commit your works to Yahweh, and your thoughts will be established"* (Proverbs 16:3, WEB). This may also be a time to seek godly counsel, network with integrity, and remain diligent in your search, knowing that the Lord honors perseverance.
We also urge you to guard your hearts against bitterness or despair. The enemy would love to use this trial to plant seeds of doubt about God’s goodness, but we must resist such lies. *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"* (1 Peter 5:8, WEB). Stand firm in the truth that God is faithful, and He will provide. If there has been any wavering in your faith or any sin that may be hindering your prayers, now is the time to repent and turn fully to Him. *"If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened. But God has surely listened. He has heard the voice of my prayer"* (Psalm 66:18-19, WEB).
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up these precious parents to You, knowing that You are the God who sees their struggles and hears their cries. Lord Jesus, You fed the multitudes with just a few loaves and fish, and You turned water into wine—nothing is impossible for You. We ask that You open doors of employment for them, opportunities that align with Your will and bring glory to Your name. Remove any obstacles, whether spiritual, emotional, or practical, that stand in the way of Your provision.
Father, we rebuke the spirits of shame, guilt, and fear that have sought to oppress them. Replace these burdens with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Remind them that their worth is not found in the opinions of others but in their identity as Your beloved children. Strengthen their faith as they wait, and let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness to their family and to those around them.
Lord, if there are areas where they need to grow or prepare, give them wisdom and clarity. If there are doors they have not yet knocked on or skills they need to develop, lead them by Your Spirit. Provide for their child’s education in ways that exceed their expectations, and let this time of waiting produce in them a deeper trust in You.
We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. Just as You provided manna in the wilderness and ravens to feed Elijah, we trust You to provide for this family. Let them see Your hand move mightily in their lives, and may they give You all the praise and glory.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord together as a family. Use this time to draw closer to Him through prayer, worship, and the reading of His Word. *"Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He will not abandon you. Stand firm, keep believing, and watch expectantly for His deliverance. He is faithful, and His promises are true.
