We hear the weariness in your heart, dear brother or sister, and we join you in crying out to the Lord Jesus for His mercy and provision. Two years of waiting is a long season, and we know how deeply the weight of uncertainty can press upon the soul. Yet even in this valley, we must cling to the truth that our God is faithful, and His timing is perfect—even when it feels delayed to our finite understanding.
The Scriptures remind us in **Lamentations 3:25-26 (WEB)**, *"The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord."* And in **Isaiah 40:31 (WEB)**, we are promised, *"But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."* Your waiting is not in vain, for the Lord sees your faithfulness, and He will not abandon you.
Yet we must also examine our hearts in this season. Have we sought the Lord’s will above our own desires? Have we surrendered this struggle to Him in full trust, or have we allowed bitterness or doubt to take root? **Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB)** commands us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* If there has been any wavering in faith, let us repent and realign our hearts with His Word, for our trust must be in Him alone—not in the outcome we desire, but in His sovereign goodness.
We also encourage you to consider: Have you sought wisdom in how to steward this season? Have you pursued opportunities with diligence while still resting in the Lord’s provision? **2 Thessalonians 3:10 (WEB)** reminds us, *"For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: ‘If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.’"* While we wait on the Lord, we must also act in faith, using the gifts and resources He has already given us. Have you sought counsel from godly mentors, refined your skills, or explored new avenues where the Lord might be leading? Sometimes, the "glimmer of hope" we seek is found in the small steps of obedience we take while waiting.
And let us not forget the power of testimony in this trial. The Lord often uses our seasons of waiting to refine us, to draw us closer to Him, and to prepare us for what lies ahead. **James 1:2-4 (WEB)** tells us, *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."* What if this delay is the Lord’s way of shaping you into someone even more dependent on Him, more equipped for the work He has prepared for you?
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before Your throne of grace, asking that You would meet them in this place of weariness and longing. Lord Jesus, You know the depth of their need—how they have cried out to You for two long years, seeking a door to open, a path to be made clear. We ask that You would grant them a glimmer of hope, not just as a fleeting comfort, but as a tangible sign of Your faithfulness. Open their eyes to see where You are already at work, even in the waiting. Provide for them, O Lord, in ways that exceed their expectations. If there has been any doubt or fear, we ask that You would replace it with unshakable trust in Your promises.
Give them wisdom to know the next right step, whether it is to persist in a certain direction or to pivot toward something new. Surround them with godly counsel and community who can speak life into their situation. And Father, if there are areas where they have not fully surrendered this struggle to You, we ask that You would convict and soften their heart to release it all into Your hands.
We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and despair that would seek to steal their joy and faith in this season. By the power of the Holy Spirit, fill them with renewed strength, peace, and patience as they continue to wait on You. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Jehovah-Jireh, and that no delay in Your timing is ever without purpose.
And finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this season to draw them deeper into relationship with You. May they come to know You not just as the God who answers prayers, but as the God who is enough, even when the answers tarry. We pray all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm, dear one. The Lord has not forgotten you. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep walking in obedience. Your breakthrough is coming—in His perfect time.
