We join you in lifting up your child to our Heavenly Father, trusting in His perfect care and guidance as they navigate this new season in college. The transition to higher education can be both exciting and challenging, and we are grateful you have brought this before the Lord in Jesus’ name, for it is only through Him that we find true peace and protection. As Scripture reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). This is our prayer for your child—that they would lean wholly on Christ, seeking His wisdom in every decision, friendship, and daily commute.
The company your child keeps is of utmost importance, for *"evil company corrupts good morals"* (1 Corinthians 15:33, WEB). We pray the Lord would surround your child with godly friends who encourage them in faith, purity, and diligence. May He also grant them discernment to recognize and avoid influences that could lead them astray from His truth. College is a time where many young people face temptations—whether in relationships, lifestyles, or ideologies that contradict Scripture. We ask the Lord to anchor your child in His Word, that they would *"not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God"* (Romans 12:2, WEB).
The long commute is another area where we claim the Lord’s protection. We declare *"Yahweh will preserve your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more"* (Psalm 121:8, WEB) over your child’s travels. May the Lord guard them from accidents, distractions, and any harm, and may this time even become an opportunity for them to draw near to Him in prayer or worship.
We also encourage you, as their parent, to continue covering them in prayer daily. Your intercession is powerful, and the Lord hears the cries of a parent’s heart. *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles"* (Psalm 34:17, WEB). Keep speaking life, wisdom, and protection over them, and trust that the Lord is faithful to complete the work He has begun in your child (Philippians 1:6).
Father, we thank You for this child whom You love even more than we do. We ask that You would go before them in college, preparing the way for godly connections, academic success, and spiritual growth. Protect them from the snares of the enemy and from the lure of worldly distractions. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a heart that seeks You above all else. Surround them with Your angels, as You have promised, and let Your peace—which surpasses all understanding—guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). For those long drives, we ask for Your divine protection, alertness, and safety. May this season be one where they not only gain knowledge but also grow deeper in their relationship with You. We pray all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
