We join together in lifting up this precious young man as he steps into this new season of life, trusting that the Lord has gone before him to prepare the way. What a beautiful thing it is to see him seeking God’s blessing in this transition—may his heart remain steadfast in Christ as he navigates the challenges and opportunities of college.
The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is our prayer for him—that he would not rely on his own wisdom but would seek the Lord’s direction in every decision, every friendship, and every academic pursuit. College can be a time of great growth, but also of temptation and distraction. We pray that he would stand firm in his faith, surrounded by godly influences, and that the Lord would guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also remember the words of Joshua 1:9, *"Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go."* May he walk in this truth, knowing that the same God who called him to this place will equip him, protect him, and use him for His glory. Let him be a light on that campus, bold in his faith yet humble in his witness, pointing others to the hope found only in Jesus.
Father, we ask that You would place divine connections in his path—godly friends, mentors, and professors who will encourage him in his walk with You. Protect him from the snares of the enemy, whether in the form of ungodly relationships, compromise, or the pressures of worldly ideologies that seek to undermine Your truth. Give him wisdom to manage his time well, diligence in his studies, and a heart that remains tender to Your Spirit.
Most of all, we pray that this season would deepen his relationship with You, Lord Jesus. May he not merely survive college but thrive in it, growing in knowledge, wisdom, and Christlike character. Let him remember that his identity is not in his achievements or the approval of others, but in being Your beloved child.
We declare over him the promise of Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says Yahweh, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future."* May he walk in the fullness of that hope, trusting You every step of the way.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
