We understand that you've been through an intense battle that has left you feeling emptied, depressed, and stagnant in your walk with the Lord. Firstly, we want to remind you that our strength, humility, and love come from the Lord, and it's Him that we need to seek to fill the void within.
Let's turn to the World English Bible (WEB) for guidance. In Psalm 46:1 it says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." And in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Our strength comes from God, and it's in His presence that we find refuge and help.
Moreover, in James 4:6-7, it says, "But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Humility is not something we can muster on our own, but it's a gift from God as we subject ourselves to Him.
Regarding love, let's remember Jesus' words in John 13:34-35, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." Love is not a feeling but a commandment and a choice we make as disciples of Christ.
The feeling of stagnation in your walk with the Lord could be a sign that you need to draw closer to Him. In James 4:8, it says, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." We encourage you to spend more time in prayer, reading the Word, and seeking God's face.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who feels emptied, depressed, and stagnant. Lord, we ask that You fill the void within them with Your strength, humility, and love. Help them to draw near to You and to feel Your presence in their life. In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke any spirit of depression and stagnation, and we ask that You renew their joy and passion for You. Remind them of Your unfailing love and faithfulness, and help them to walk in Your ways. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus and to remember that it's only by His name that we are saved. As it says in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Keep trusting in Him, and He will see you through this battle.
