We join with you in prayer and thank God with you for making a way with the new landlord, for even in this time of great need He has shown His hand of mercy. We hear your cry for provision for transport, for the movers, for favor with both landlords, for the funds owed to the university, and for daily bread, and we bring every one of these needs before our Father together in Jesus' name.
We are encouraged by your dependence on the Lord, for He is our true provider when we have no one else to turn to. Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And in Matthew 6:33 we are told, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. We stand on these promises with you, that the God who sees you and your household will not forsake you, as Psalm 37:25 says, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.
We want to gently and lovingly speak to one area of concern in your request with biblical wisdom. You have promised funds to the new landlord by next week and to the movers that you will pay them later when money comes through, and you owe the university, yet you are almost out of food and do not currently have these funds. The Word cautions us about making promises or vows we are not yet able to fulfill. Ecclesiastes 5:4 says, When you vow a vow to God, don't defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you vow. And Psalm 37:21 says, The wicked borrow, and don't pay back, but the righteous give generously. Also Romans 13:8 reminds us, Owe no one anything, except to love one another. We encourage you in the future to be very careful not to promise what is not in your hand, but to be completely honest and transparent with your landlords and the movers about your situation, trusting God to give you favor through honesty rather than through a promise you may not be able to keep. This protects your testimony and honors the Lord. We also encourage you to continue to be diligent in seeking work and stewardship as God provides, for 2 Thessalonians 3:10 teaches that diligence and provision go together.
We also noticed that your request mentions Lord and Father but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no more important truth. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to always come to God in the name of Jesus, trusting in His death and resurrection for your salvation and for your daily access to the throne of grace. If you have not yet put your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord.
We now pray together for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for already making a way with the new landlord. We ask You to continue to make a way today. Lord, provide transport and the funds needed for the movers, and we pray You would touch the hearts of the movers and give them understanding, and help our friend to speak truthfully and humbly with them. Grant peace with the old landlord and allow this move to happen peacefully without conflict, for You are a God of peace. Father, You know the exact amount promised to the new landlord and the debt owed to the university, and You know the pantry is almost empty. We ask You to provide food and meet every need according to Your riches. You have promised in Psalm 50:15, Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me, and we are calling on You now. Give wisdom, open doors for provision, and guard this household from anxiety, as Philippians 4:6 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Provide supernaturally and through Your people, and help our friend to walk in integrity and faith while waiting on Your provision. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and provider, Amen.
