Prayer Request: Provision & Smooth Move

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord, thank You for making a way with the new landlord. Please continue to make a way for us today. Please provide transport and funds for the movers, and touch their hearts to allow me to pay them later when the promised money comes through. Please give my old landlord understanding and allow us to move peacefully today. Father, please provide the funds I promised the new landlord by next week, and also provide for the money I owe the university. We are almost out of food. Lord, please provide food and meet our needs. Father, I have no one else to turn to. Please make a way again and provide for every need. Amen.

We join with you in prayer and thank God with you for making a way with the new landlord, for even in this time of great need He has shown His hand of mercy. We hear your cry for provision for transport, for the movers, for favor with both landlords, for the funds owed to the university, and for daily bread, and we bring every one of these needs before our Father together in Jesus' name.

We are encouraged by your dependence on the Lord, for He is our true provider when we have no one else to turn to. Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And in Matthew 6:33 we are told, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. We stand on these promises with you, that the God who sees you and your household will not forsake you, as Psalm 37:25 says, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.

We want to gently and lovingly speak to one area of concern in your request with biblical wisdom. You have promised funds to the new landlord by next week and to the movers that you will pay them later when money comes through, and you owe the university, yet you are almost out of food and do not currently have these funds. The Word cautions us about making promises or vows we are not yet able to fulfill. Ecclesiastes 5:4 says, When you vow a vow to God, don't defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you vow. And Psalm 37:21 says, The wicked borrow, and don't pay back, but the righteous give generously. Also Romans 13:8 reminds us, Owe no one anything, except to love one another. We encourage you in the future to be very careful not to promise what is not in your hand, but to be completely honest and transparent with your landlords and the movers about your situation, trusting God to give you favor through honesty rather than through a promise you may not be able to keep. This protects your testimony and honors the Lord. We also encourage you to continue to be diligent in seeking work and stewardship as God provides, for 2 Thessalonians 3:10 teaches that diligence and provision go together.

We also noticed that your request mentions Lord and Father but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no more important truth. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to always come to God in the name of Jesus, trusting in His death and resurrection for your salvation and for your daily access to the throne of grace. If you have not yet put your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for already making a way with the new landlord. We ask You to continue to make a way today. Lord, provide transport and the funds needed for the movers, and we pray You would touch the hearts of the movers and give them understanding, and help our friend to speak truthfully and humbly with them. Grant peace with the old landlord and allow this move to happen peacefully without conflict, for You are a God of peace. Father, You know the exact amount promised to the new landlord and the debt owed to the university, and You know the pantry is almost empty. We ask You to provide food and meet every need according to Your riches. You have promised in Psalm 50:15, Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me, and we are calling on You now. Give wisdom, open doors for provision, and guard this household from anxiety, as Philippians 4:6 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Provide supernaturally and through Your people, and help our friend to walk in integrity and faith while waiting on Your provision. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and provider, Amen.

Thank you for sharing so honestly with us in the middle of such a full and pressing day. We are joining you in prayer and we also thank God with you for the open door with the new landlord. We hear how much is resting on today, the transport and the movers and hoping they will allow later payment, needing understanding from your old landlord for a peaceful move, plus the funds you promised for next week, what you owe the university, and being almost out of food. Carrying all of that at once is a heavy burden.

In a day with so many moving pieces, clear and gentle communication can help protect your peace. If the movers agree to be paid later, see if you can get that agreement in a simple written note with the amount and the date you expect to pay. A brief written understanding with both landlords can also help everyone stay on the same page.

For the immediate needs, please consider reaching out today to a local church or community agency near you. Many have food pantries or benevolence help for exactly this kind of moment and can point you to other practical support. It may also help to contact your university student accounts or financial aid office soon to ask about any emergency options they offer.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see every need today, the move, the transport, the food, and the funds needed for the landlords and the university. Please make a way where there seems to be no way, grant favor and understanding with each person involved, and give wisdom and peace for each next step. Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join you at the mercy seat with earnest supplication for your present need.

You have thanked the Lord for making a way with the new landlord, and rightly so, for in Him we live and move and have our being, and every open door is of His mercy. We praise Him with you for what He has already done, and we pray that you will be enabled to praise Him more and more as He continues to supply you.

You are about to move from a little to a larger occupation, and it is natural you should feel timid because of the littleness of your strength. Hear the promise, He gives more grace. When the trial deepens and the burden grows, His grace grows also. Do not be over anxious to make more provision, or to trust to your own prudence, but go to the Lord for more grace, for this provision, like every other promise, is in and through Jesus Christ the Mediator. Oh for the agony of prayer that will lead you to the mercy seat with power, to seek from Him what none other can give.

We bring your petitions before the Father in the name of Christ. We ask that He would provide transport and the means to meet the cost of the movers, and that He would grant you favour and honesty in all your dealings, that you may owe no man anything but love and may keep your word with integrity. We pray for understanding and peace with your old landlord, that this move may be made in quietness and without strife. We ask the Lord to provide the funds you have promised to the new landlord by next week, and to make a way concerning what you owe to the university. He knows your frame and your need, and He has preserved you in health and strength and supplied food and raiment hitherto, and He is able to do so still.

You tell us you are almost out of food and have no one else to turn to. This is a sore trial, for all life here below needs to be sustained from without by food of some kind or other. Yet the great mercy is that there is abundant provision for sustaining life, both for the body and for the soul. There are no unnecessary miracles, but the Lord who commands to give food to sustain life will not forget His children. If one of our Father's children cannot fill his belly, it is not because there is not abundance on the Father's table. Look to Him who is Himself the food of our souls, whose flesh is food indeed and whose blood is drink indeed, to comfort the mourner, to strengthen the weak, and to satisfy the hungry heart. Seek first that spiritual food which comforts and strengthens, and trust Him also for daily bread.

We pray that the Lord will give you a contented heart and a gleaming eye even in want, that you will not live on the musty memory of past mercies but will have a fresh experience of Divine Love today, and that you will see His hand making a way again as you have asked. May He meet every need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and keep you in perfect peace as you trust in Him.

We commit you and this move into the hands of Him who has loved you with an everlasting love. May His will be done, and may you be sustained and provided for in His good time. Amen.

There is power in prayer (James 5:16)! My family and I moved to ### in February 2019 to work with a small church. My mom died in April 2019. The church grew from 28 to nearly 90 with 22 baptisms during Covid. God provided the increase. In my life as a minister, it seems like anytime something...
