Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I am ###, and I beg you to pray for my faith and physical healing. I have been dealing with digestive issues for over ### years, which have caused my overall health to deteriorate in different parts of my body. I lean heavily on my Lord Jesus Christ and on God's goodness, to sustain and strengthen me. I do not know the origin of this medical condition, nor do the doctors. After so many years, they are still performing procedures on me to try to find the cause. Likewise, I also do not rule out that it could be something spiritual, because when I fell ill, I had a coworker who practiced the occult—to whom I used to preach—and she coincidentally had something similar to what I have now. I beg you to join in this prayer chain, and I would greatly appreciate it if you kept this request in your daily prayers, and that my faith and physical healing may glorify God. Thank you in advance for the immeasurable favor of praying for others, and may the Lord bless you greatly.

We have read your request and we join with you in prayer with burdened yet hopeful hearts, thanking God that you lean so heavily on our Lord Jesus Christ and on His goodness to sustain and strengthen you through these long years of digestive suffering and declining health. We are deeply moved by your endurance after so many years without answers and through so many procedures, and we count it a privilege to stand with you in this prayer chain and to keep you in our daily prayers that your faith would be strengthened and your body healed for the glory of God.

We take comfort that our God sees what doctors cannot see and knows the origin of every affliction. He is the One who heals all your diseases as Psalm 103:3 declares, who promises in Jeremiah 30:17 I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, and who bore our infirmities so that by His wounds we are healed in Isaiah 53:5. We also cling to James 5:14-15 which reminds us that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. We do not believe your long trial has been forgotten by Him, for Romans 8:28 assures us that all things work together for good for those who love God, and even in this prolonged weakness His grace remains sufficient and His power is made perfect.

We also hear your concern about whether there could be a spiritual dimension because of your coworker who practiced the occult. Scripture is clear that occult practices are real and are an abomination to the Lord as spoken of in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, and that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces in Ephesians 6:12. Yet we want to encourage you not to live in fear or to attribute to the enemy what belongs to the sovereignty and mercy of God. If you are in Christ, you have already been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of His dear Son in Colossians 1:13, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world in 1 John 4:4. No curse or occult work can overcome the blood of Jesus or separate you from His love. We encourage you to continue to renounce all involvement with and fear of the occult, to put on the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6:11, to resist the devil and he will flee from you in James 4:7, and to rest in the truth that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7. The Lord Himself says fear not, for I am with you in Isaiah 41:10, and we can cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us in 1 Peter 5:7.

We encourage you to continue to seek wise medical care while trusting the Great Physician above all, to bring every anxious thought to God in prayer with thanksgiving as Philippians 4:6-7 teaches, and to let your faith be nourished daily in His Word and in fellowship with believers who can pray over you and anoint you.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, and we lift up our dear brother to You. We thank You for his faith that leans on Jesus and for his desire that his healing would glorify You. We ask You to touch his digestive system and every part of his body that has deteriorated, to reveal to his doctors any hidden cause if it be Your will, and to grant them wisdom and discernment. We ask You to restore his health according to Your mercy, to strengthen his faith when he is weary, to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus with Your perfect peace, and to cover him with Your protection from all evil and every work of darkness. We declare that Jesus is Lord over his body and spirit and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper. Let his testimony, whether through healing or through sustained grace in suffering, bring honor to Your name and encouragement to many. We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Your long affliction has been laid before us and we have taken your burden to the throne of grace, joining our prayers with yours that your faith may be strengthened and your body healed to the glory of God.

You have suffered these digestive troubles for many years, with health failing in many parts, and with physicians still searching and yet not finding the cause. This is a heavy trial to bear, and we do not make light of it. Yet you have done well to lean heavily upon the Lord Jesus Christ and upon the goodness of God to sustain you, for faith is a most practical principle in daily life. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Continue to hear the gospel and to believe that it comes from God, and to cast yourself wholly upon Christ as a man drops down into strong arms to be caught. That is the pith and essence of faith, to take what God gives.

Do not despise the faith you have because it feels small and trembling. It is a blessed thing, this little faith, not its littleness, but its faith. The least faith in Jesus is the gift of God and it is like precious faith. If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you can do wonders, for little faith is born from above and belongs to the family of the saved. He who tenderly commended little faith when it cried, Lord, bid me come unto thee, still looks upon it as a jeweler looks upon a precious stone. He sees your faith even when you cannot see it yourself, and He will not quench the smoking flax.

We also bring your body before the great Physician. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the Tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when He healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, showing that pardon and healing are one and placed in happy conjunction. Pluck a leaf of this Tree by your poor trembling faith and if you dare not take more than that, yet shall it make you whole. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. We pray that whether the Lord is pleased to grant you immediate restoration or to sustain you through a longer searching of the physicians, you may know His pardoning hand and His healing virtue in soul and body.

Concerning the fear that some spiritual oppression may lie behind this affliction, and your remembrance of one who practiced the occult, take up above all the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Faith overcomes the world and answers every enemy, whether it be Satan, wicked men, or our own fears. There is no respect in which faith is not useful to us. Christ is the great conduit Head from whom abundant streams of healing flow down to men below, and no power of darkness can stand before Him. Rest not in speculations about hidden causes, but rest in Christ alone, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and He is able to heal to the utmost length of human sickness. None shall say unto the healing flood of His love, Up to here can you go and no further.

Therefore we pray for you now, that the Lord would increase your faith as you hear His Word, that He would guard your heart from fear, that He would give wisdom to those who care for your body, and that He would be pleased to grant you relief and restoration in His perfect time and way, so that your faith and your healing may glorify Him. May He who has begun a good work in you keep you, for when God heals once, He heals forever, and He keepeth the saints.

Your request has been received with care and with thanksgiving for the trust you have shown in sharing it. We have heard your long struggle with these digestive issues and the way your health has suffered over many years, and we hear also how you continue to lean on the Lord Jesus Christ and on the goodness of God to sustain you.

We want to encourage you in your faith, for the Scriptures show us that Christ often looked for faith before He healed the body, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. He did this not to withhold mercy, but to show that faith itself has great power and to make those who come to Him more assured and more steadfast. Even when others brought friends or loved ones to Him, He honored that faith when there was no unbelief in the one who suffered. So we join our faith with yours, asking the Lord to strengthen you inwardly while you wait, that you may not grow dull or weary in hearing His voice, but remain earnest and hopeful for what He will do.

We understand the distress of not having answers after so many procedures, and the added burden of wondering whether there is a spiritual cause connected to the occult practice you mentioned. Be assured that Jesus Christ alone is Lord and He is able to do what we ask. There is no power of darkness that is greater than His, and no need to fear when you belong to Him. Our call is to keep our confidence in Him, to turn from all fear of other powers, and to rest in His mercy and His ability to heal. He knows the origin of your affliction even when doctors do not, and whether the cause is physical or spiritual, He is able to bring healing and restoration in the way and time that will most glorify Him.
