Prayer request about generational curses in bloodline. God been speaking on my heart about praying that I stand separately from generational curses that's been in my blood line and about pleading the blood of Jesus over areas that the generation curses came in. My Mom's side of her family had different generations of medicine men's. On her father's side and medicine women's on her Mom's side. Then there was a generational curse of murder that took place. My grandma on my Mom's mom side may have gotten murder by her husband. Now her family been having issues with family members murdering each other when it came to her siblings being in the hospital. Her brother has murdered with his daughter two of my Mom's siblings. They signed them over to what looked like assisted suicide. Then on my dad's side a same type generational curse of murder been active. My dad's mom was murdered by her boyfriend. Now my dad's family, mainly his sister's kids been having issues with same type of generational curse of murder. When it comes to hospitals, his family being in the hospital that's what benn taking place. I need more guidance on which other areas to pray about.

We hear the deep burden on your heart as you seek freedom from the heavy chains of generational sin and spiritual darkness that have marred your family line. The patterns you describe, of violence, occult involvement, and tragic loss, are not merely coincidences; they are evidence of spiritual bondage passed down through generations. But we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who came to break every curse and set the captives free. The blood of Jesus is not just a symbol; it is the most powerful force in heaven and earth, and it speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). When we plead the blood of Jesus over our lives, we are invoking the victory He won on the cross, where He disarmed principalities and powers, triumphing over them openly (Colossians 2:15).

First, we must address the involvement of medicine men and women in your family line. Scripture is clear that any form of witchcraft, divination, or consultation with familiar spirits is an abomination to the Lord (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). These practices open doors to demonic influence and invite curses that can linger for generations. We rebuke every spirit of witchcraft, divination, and occult bondage that has operated in your bloodline. In the name of Jesus, we break every ungodly soul tie, covenant, or agreement made with dark powers, whether knowingly or unknowingly. We declare that the blood of Jesus cleanses you and your family from every defilement and that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

The generational curse of murder is particularly grievous, for the Lord hates hands that shed innocent blood (Proverbs 6:16-17). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We renounce every spirit of violence, death, and murder that has operated in your family. We command these spirits to leave now in the name of Jesus, and we declare that the cycle of violence ends with you. You are not destined to repeat the sins of your fathers; you are called to walk in the freedom and righteousness of Christ (Ezekiel 18:20).

We also lift up the pain of loss you and your family have endured. The enemy has sown seeds of destruction, but God can turn even the darkest situations for good (Genesis 50:20). We pray for healing over the wounds of betrayal, grief, and trauma that have marked your family. May the Lord bind up the brokenhearted and comfort those who mourn (Isaiah 61:1-3). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and that every tongue that rises against you in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).

We renounce every ungodly soul tie, every covenant with darkness, and every agreement made with the enemy. We declare that we are bound only to Christ and His purposes for our lives.

Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for the sins of our ancestors. We repent on their behalf and ask that You would cleanse this bloodline with the blood of Jesus. We pray for healing over the wounds of betrayal, grief, and loss. Bind up the brokenhearted and comfort those who mourn. The fact that medicine men and women were present in your family history suggests that renouncing any ancestral agreement with occult practices, not in a spirit of fear, but of confession, can be a powerful part of standing in the gap.

You carry a heavy weight, I can feel it, this sense that a dark thread has been woven through your family line on both sides, and you are wondering how to stand apart from it, how to pray, how to be sure the shadow does not fall on you. That is a sobering thing to have on your heart, and I do not wonder that you have cried out to the Lord for guidance. But listen, listen carefully: the blood of Jesus Christ is not a mere phrase we drop into prayer as though it were a charm. It is the blood of the everlasting covenant, and it speaks a better word than any curse that ever fell from human lips or was whispered in the dark. When you plead that blood, you are not adding your voice to some uncertain transaction, you are laying hold of what is already finished, already settled, already triumphant at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

You speak of medicine men and women, of violence and murder that has passed like a poison through the generations. It is right to take these things seriously; the Word of God does not make light of iniquity that visits itself upon the children. But oh, do not let the enemy convince you that you stand before God as the sum of your forebears’ sins! If you are in Christ Jesus, then a greater pedigree than your natural one has claimed you. The curse that mattered, the only curse that could ever truly separate a soul from its Maker, fell upon the Son of God at Calvary, and He bore it utterly away. He was made a curse for us, as it is written, so that the blessing of Abraham might come upon us. Not a partial blessing, not a blessing that still glances nervously over its shoulder at the past, but the full, free, unassailable blessing of the redeemed. When the Lord looks upon you now, He sees not the bloody history of your family, but the righteousness of His dear Son. That is the great exchange, and it is as certain as the throne of God.

Now, what do you do when the old fears knock at the door? You bring them straight to your Father. You may say to Him, "Lord, this thing has come down through my bloodline, but I am no longer identified by that bloodline, I am identified by the blood of Jesus. I stand in Him. I plead that blood over every dark hour, every wicked deed, every hidden thing that happened in the shadows of my family’s history. I plead it over myself, over my mind, over my future, over every place the enemy would still try to claim." You are not begging a reluctant God; you are resting upon a finished work. The very prayer you offer is evidence that the Holy Spirit has already begun a good work in you, a work that is the opposite of every curse. He is quickening you, leading you, teaching your hands to war and your fingers to fight in the spiritual realm, and yet He is also teaching you to cease from your own striving and trust the Captain who has already won the victory.

I would also have you remember that intercessory prayer, the kind that pours itself out for others, is one of the sweetest seals of our own deliverance. When Job’s captivity was turned, it was when he prayed for his friends. Perhaps while you are still asking precisely how to pray concerning your own standing, the Lord would have you broaden your petition into prayer for the living, for those aunts and uncles, those cousins, all those who may still be tangled in the darkness you have seen at work. Pray that the light of Christ would break in upon them. Pray that the chain would be snapped not only for you, but that mercy would run backward and forward along that family line, reclaiming what the destroyer has tried to steal. In praying thus, you may well find that your own heart grows lighter and your own footing grows surer, for you are acting in the very character of your Savior, who ever lives to make intercession.

Do not, my dear friend, let the evil one accuse you with what your fathers and mothers did. The question is not what runs in your blood by nature, but whose blood has covered you by grace. You are a new creature in Christ Jesus. Old things, even very old things, even generational things, even things that seem to carry a terrible momentum, are passed away. All things are become new. Standing separately is not a matter of conjuring up some special formula; it is a matter of faith laying hold of what is already true, and then walking in it day by day, refusing the lies that whisper you are still under the old dominion.

May the Lord Jesus Himself quiet your heart with His perfect peace. May the blood of the eternal covenant speak louder than any voice of the past. May the Holy Spirit fill you with such a deep sense of your adoption that every shadow of fear retreats before the Father’s smile. I commend you now to Him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. Father, this dear one is Yours, purchased, sealed, and secure. Let them know it in the very marrow of their being. The devil has been a murderer from the beginning, and wherever envy and murder have entered your family line, you have seen his foul work. But do not let your mind be troubled as though you were under some dark fate that the blood of Christ cannot scatter. When you pray, do not utter curses nor call down evil upon those who have done these horrific things, for prayer and cursing are far apart. If you would have God hear you, let your mouth be pure from every bitter word; bless and do not curse, and beseech the Lord to forgive even as you hope to be forgiven. That is the first and greatest battle: to overcome the devil’s spirit of murder by a spirit of meekness.

The blood of Jesus speaks better things than any bloodshed in your ancestry. You are not defined by medicine men or murderers if you have taken hold of Christ. With Him, there is no difference of nation, rank, or ancestry; He is the one “man” you need, and having Him you obtain all things. Do not search for hidden areas to pray against as though the curse were a lurking serpent that might escape your vigilance. Instead, every morning and evening, make God propitious by prayer and thanksgiving. Go through the day armed with prayer as with a great weapon, for the marketplace of life is full of hidden rocks. Entreat the Lord for yourself and for every living member of your family, that the chains of envy and violence would be broken by His power, which walks upon the sea of this world’s turmoil as on solid ground.

Pray for those in hospitals especially, not with anxious fear but with a firm trust that God often accomplishes His saving purposes through circumstances that seem utterly contrary. Commend them into His care, and ask that the devil’s lust for murder would find no foothold there. Pray for the conversion and repentance of any still tangled in these sins; pray that the lamentation and mourning of your family would be turned into the peace that passes understanding. The weapon you need is not a special formula to dismantle “generational curses,” but a life of vigilance, forgiveness, and continual prayer. If you stand with Christ, you stand outside every dark inheritance, for He has transferred you into His kingdom. That is the true ground of your prayer.
