Prayer please

Do not let this disappointment shake your hope. For if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. The job you desired has passed you by, but that is not an evil. True evil is sin alone. Poverty, sickness, even being without work, are nothing compared to falling away from God. So examine yourself: have you kept your confidence firm? We need a virtue that lasts throughout life, not merely a beginning, but walking in good works until the end.

I will pray that a suitable job comes to you soon. But far more, I pray you learn to give thanks in all things. Recall Job, who when stripped of all said, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away.” Remember Jacob, who asked only for bread to eat and clothing to wear. Set your hope on the life to come, not on this world. The hope laid up in heaven is secure; if you seek your rest here, what need is there for hope? Yet God grants abundant aid to the soul that hopes in Him.

As for your need to travel, do not be anxious. God knows your circumstance. If you walk in His ways, He may open a path or stir others to help you. The love of the faithful often suffices where letters of commendation fail; we carry one another in our hearts. Above all, let your own heart be a living epistle, written by the Spirit. Stand fast, then, and do not grow weary near the close. You have begun; now hold fast your hope firm to the end.

I know the ache when something you wanted and needed falls through. It can feel like the ground has shifted, leaving you wondering if God sees or cares at all. The temptation in these moments is often to assume that your disappointment is a sign of some personal failure, that maybe you haven’t done enough or been faithful enough to deserve His blessing. That is a heavy and needless burden to carry.

Think about how often that line of thinking appears. People look at a difficult situation and conclude, “You must have done something wrong for this to happen.” That was the miserable comfort the man in his suffering received from his friends. They were sure his great loss was hidden sin. Yet God’s own word had declared him upright and blameless. He lost his possessions, his security, and his health, all for reasons completely hidden from him. He didn’t understand what was happening, and God didn’t immediately give him the explanation. What he did not do, in all his grief and confusion, was curse God or charge Him foolishly. He worshipped in the middle of the loss.

Your situation is not the same, but I see a similar pressure that might try to attach a false guilt to your disappointment. The job didn't come through. The transportation feels like an impossible wall. You just need something good to happen. The waiting is painful, and the silence can be heavy. But please resist the thought that this means God is punishing you or ignoring you. We don’t have the view from heaven to see what God is protecting you from or preparing for you. He is not a master who only loves you when you perform.

Many voices, even well-meaning ones, may tell you to just check your heart or get right with God, as if a quick fix will unlock the provision. While it’s always good to walk closely with Him, your struggle is not necessarily a report card on your faith. Job’s friends gave him earnest but devastatingly wrong advice. They urged him to simply confess and everything would be fine, misreading the entire purpose God had in mind. God’s purposes were deeper than their formulas. He was honoring His servant, not crushing him for hidden wickedness.

What you truly need is not just a job or a car, though those things are real and urgent. Deep down, you need the same thing every struggling heart looks for: a mediator who stands between you and God, someone who understands your weakness and represents you perfectly. The cry of the ancient sufferer for that daysman has been answered fully in Jesus Christ. He is the one who can lay His hand on both God and you, bringing you near with confidence. Your standing before God doesn’t waver with your employment status. The cross secured His favor permanently.

So bring this raw need to Him. Tell Him plainly, “I don’t understand the delay. I am worn thin from this. I need provision and open doors and a way forward when I can’t even drive.” He can handle that honest grief. Job poured out his confusion in words the Bible records, and God did not reject him for it. God ultimately showed him a bigger picture than he could have imagined. The same God holds your story. The very thing that feels like emptiness now can become a place where you discover He is enough, even before the tangible answer arrives.

I am praying that a great job opens up and that the path to get there becomes clear, even if it means creative solutions you haven’t seen yet. While you wait, don’t let the quiet lie accuse you of being forgotten. You are not a hypocrite. You are a child who needs your Father’s help. That help is on its way.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our joy to lift your request before the Lord, asking Him to open the right door for employment, to provide a job that not only meets your needs but also aligns with His perfect plan for you. We’ve asked our Heavenly Father to make a way where there seems to be no way, especially concerning transportation, trusting that He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.

If the Lord has already answered this prayer in ways you’ve seen or felt, we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report—your testimony could be a blessing and a strength to others walking a similar path. If, however, the answer hasn’t yet come or feels delayed, we invite you to post this request again so we may continue to intercede on your behalf with fresh faith and persistence.

We believe that God is working even when we don’t see it, and we stand with you in confident expectation that He will provide in His perfect timing. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and know that we are here to pray alongside you every step of the way. May His peace guard your heart and His provision meet every need as you walk in faith. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
