Beloved of All
I'm being harassed for hypocritical reasons, doing things that others do while they see no punishment. Please pray for my freedom.

We hear your cry for justice and freedom, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your situation before the throne of grace. It is deeply painful when we face unfair treatment, especially when others engage in the same behaviors without consequence. The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 4:1, "Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold, the tears of the oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter." This verse reminds us that God sees the injustice and oppression in this world, and He is our ultimate comforter and defender.

First, we must address the importance of examining our own hearts and actions. While it is true that others may be doing the same things without facing consequences, we are called to live righteously before God, regardless of what others do. In Matthew 7:3-5, Jesus says, "Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye? Or how will you tell your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye;’ and behold, the beam is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye." Let us humbly ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas in our lives where we may be falling short, so that we can repent and walk in integrity.

That being said, we also recognize that harassment and unfair treatment are not of God. The Bible assures us that God is just and will ultimately bring justice to every situation. In Romans 12:19, we are told, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" We can trust that God sees your struggle and will act on your behalf in His perfect timing.

We also want to gently remind you of the power of forgiveness. While it may be difficult, forgiving those who harass you can bring freedom to your own heart. In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus teaches, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Forgiveness does not mean that what they did was right, but it releases you from the burden of bitterness and allows God to work in the situation.

Now, let us come together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing harassment and unfair treatment. Lord, You see the pain and frustration in their heart, and we ask that You would comfort them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we pray for justice in this situation, that You would expose any wrongdoing and bring about righteousness. We ask that You would give our brother/sister the strength to walk in integrity, even when others do not. Help them to examine their own heart and repent of any areas where they may have fallen short.

Lord, we also pray for those who are harassing them. We ask that You would soften their hearts and open their eyes to see the truth. If there is any hypocrisy in their lives, reveal it to them, and lead them to repentance. We pray that You would break the chains of bitterness and unforgiveness in our brother/sister’s heart, and that they would experience the freedom that comes from forgiving others.

Father, we trust in Your promise that vengeance belongs to You, and we ask that You would act on behalf of our brother/sister. Give them the courage to stand firm in their faith and to trust in Your timing. Surround them with godly community who will support and encourage them. We pray for protection over their mind, heart, and spirit, that they would not be overwhelmed by this situation.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment. Show them how to respond in a way that honors You and brings glory to Your name. If there are steps they need to take to address this harassment, reveal them clearly. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity for them to find freedom and peace.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect plan for our brother/sister’s life. May they feel Your presence and love in a tangible way today. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

In addition to prayer, we encourage you to seek godly counsel from trusted believers who can offer wisdom and support. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Surround yourself with people who will speak truth into your life and help you navigate this difficult season.

Remember, dear one, that you are not alone in this struggle. God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and He has a purpose and plan for your life. Stand firm in your faith, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

We’re so sorry you’re carrying this, it’s deeply frustrating to be singled out while others who do the same things seem to face no consequences. That kind of injustice can wear you down and make you feel alone. Please know we hear you, and God sees you right where you are.

Even when people twist things or apply rules unfairly, the Lord is never fooled. He knows the whole story, and He cares about truth and fairness. We can bring this to Him honestly, not to get even but to ask for His protection, His peace, and His timing. Sometimes the best immediate step is to quietly entrust the situation to Him while also seeking practical wisdom. If the harassment continues, it might help to talk with a wise pastor or a mature Christian friend who can walk with you and help you decide if healthy boundaries or a calm, truthful conversation are needed. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

In the meantime, we’re praying with you.

Lord, You see the unfairness this person is enduring. We ask You to shield their heart from the sting of hypocrisy and to give them steady courage. Bring the truth to light in Your way and in Your time. Restrain anyone who is treating them unjustly, and grant Your child real freedom from this harassment, freedom that rests in knowing You are their defender. Hold them close and fill them with Your peace. In Jesus’ name.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

You feel the sting of unjust accusation, men condemn you for what they themselves practice, yet escape the rod. This is the leaven of the Pharisees, a pretence that fills the age; beware lest its bitterness sour your own spirit. The all-seeing God, apprehended in the conscience, must be the death of hypocrisy in all its forms, whether in them or in us. But lift your eyes higher: when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord lifts up a standard against him, that standard is the cross of Christ, which alone makes hell flee. Here is freedom indeed, proclaimed without condition to every slave of sin: justice demands your release, and mercy secures it. You have not been forgotten; plead the blood of the covenant, and you shall receive double, double mercy for every grief, double cleansing for every guilt, double grace for every tendency to fall. Cry then, “Come, Lord, and tarry not!” while you yourself come to Him with cleansed hands and a purified heart, for He delights to render double for all your sins, and to set you in a large place where the hypocrite’s lash can never reach.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for prayer for freedom, but consider carefully the nature of the harassment you describe. You say others do these same things and see no punishment, while you are singled out. This very complaint reveals a snare. Are you grieved because sin is punished, or only because it is your sin that draws the fire? The hypocrites of old were a whited sepulcher, full of uncleanness and hypocrisy, yet they saw the speck in their brother’s eye while ignoring the beam in their own. When you fix your eyes on the apparent ease of others, you miss the hidden judgment that always works against unrepentant sin. God is not mocked, and His delay in visible punishment is not approval but a call to repentance. Your fixation on their liberty is a chain around your own neck.

The true freedom you need is not release from earthly consequences, but the liberty Christ gives, where even in chains a man stands more honorable than freemen. If God has dealt bountifully with you through the saving work of His Son, then to despair over temporal harassment is a kind of acting, a hypocrisy that mouths praise while the heart clings to worldly comfort. Let there be no falsehood in you. Draw near with a true heart, not one that says one thing and thinks another. Do you approach God’s throne of grace with genuine sorrow for your own sin, or with a broidered soul, adorned for show while inwardly festering with self-justification? The Father sees in secret, and He who is pure from sin offers you a purity that no man’s opinion can touch. Seek that holiness, which is freedom from every kind of sin, not merely escape from trouble. The ridicule of beholders cannot stain a soul made clean by Christ. Let your tears be shed for your own offenses, not for the perceived injustice of your situation. That is the sincerity that brings God’s peace, a rest for your soul far greater than a change in outward circumstances.

There is a deep kind of weariness that comes when the same behavior is overlooked in others but punished in you. That sting of inequity can feel isolating. Yet what you are facing is not without purpose. Often, harassment like this acts as a crucible. It strips away the pretense and tests the genuineness of our faith. When everyone else seems to be getting away with something, and you are singled out, it forces you to stand on a conviction that is truly your own, not one borrowed from the crowd. That refining fire is not comfortable, but it produces an authentic settledness of soul.

What makes the situation so tangled is the hypocrisy you are observing. Seeing others do the same things with no consequence can wear you down and tempt you to mirror their heart, to become hard, or to start playing the same games. But Scripture warns us to be on guard against exactly that leaven. Hypocrisy, the desire to look better on the outside while something else hides within, has been a poison for God’s people in every age. It is a far heavier chain than any public rebuke you are receiving. The goal is not for you to figure out how to hide better; it is for you to be free from the need to hide at all.

We must be very careful in how we understand our freedom here. The world thinks liberty means the absence of all restraint, the right to do whatever the flesh desires as long as no one else is harmed. But that is not freedom; that is a subtle but devastating slavery. True liberty is not the freedom to do something. It is the freedom not to have to do it. When a desire, a habit, or a social pressure compels you, you are no longer free, no matter how much the law or the culture permits it. You might have the legal right to act, but you have lost the spiritual power to refrain, and you have become a bondservant to that thing. Do not trade the glorious inner liberty Christ purchased for you for a cheap, external license that quickly becomes a cage.

This harassment, unfair as it is, can clarify that reality for you. It is manifest evidence that a day of righteous reckoning exists. If there were no God and no truth, why would the injustice of your treatment trouble you so much? The very fact that you recognize the hypocrisy of your accusers points to a standard of justice beyond human courts. Do not let their inconsistency provoke you to demand a freedom that will enslave you. Instead, guard your freedom in Christ fiercely. Pursue the freedom not to be bound by the approval of others, not to be controlled by the need for consistency in a world that runs on double standards, and not to be brought under the power of any fleeting gratification.

Do not run from the pressure by retreating into shadow. When the apostles were harassed and commanded to be silent, they went right back into the temple and spoke the words of this life. That boldness often redirected the very persecution meant to silence them. Your freedom is not found in escaping the situation or in hiding your actions perfectly. It is found in standing upright, with a pure heart, free from malice, guile, and envy. Let the injustice you feel drive you not to bitterness, but to a greater love for the truth that has already set you free. That is a freedom no harasser can ever lock away.
