We lift your hearts and burdens before the Lord, coming together in unity to intercede for you and your husband. The weight of physical affliction, financial strain, and the deep sorrow of grief is heavy, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting that God hears the cries of His children. First, we want to affirm that your marriage is precious in His sight, and we pray for restoration, strength, and healing in every area where it has been strained. The Bible tells us in Malachi 2:14-15, "Yet you say, ‘Why?’ Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and the wife of your covenant. Did he not make you one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? Why one? He sought godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth." We rebuke any spirit of division, discouragement, or despair that seeks to weaken your marriage, and we declare that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We pray specifically for your husband’s physical and mental health. The toll of labor that has broken his body and spirit is not unseen by the Lord. We ask for supernatural healing and restoration, that his strength would be renewed like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). Father, we ask that You would mend his body, ease his pain, and lift the burdens that have weighed him down. We also pray for his mind, grant him peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and guard his heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came that he may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke any spirit of anxiety, depression, or hopelessness, and we speak life and wholeness over him in the name of Jesus.
For his employment, we pray that God would open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). The struggle to find work that is sustainable and honoring to his body and soul is real, and we ask that the Lord would provide a job that not only meets your financial needs but also aligns with His purpose for your husband’s gifts and abilities. We trust that God is your provider, as Philippians 4:19 declares, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We pray for favor in interviews, wisdom in decision-making, and patience as you wait on the Lord’s timing. We also ask that God would give your husband a spirit of perseverance and hope, knowing that His plans for you are for good and not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also lift your health before the Lord, dear sister. A terminal diagnosis is a heavy cross to bear, and we grieve with you over the pain and uncertainty it brings. Yet we hold fast to the promise that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray for healing, whether it be miraculous or through the hands of skilled physicians, and we ask that God would grant you peace and strength for each day. We declare that your life is in His hands, and that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We also pray for your husband, that he would be given the grace to walk alongside you with love, patience, and faith, trusting God even in the midst of fear and sorrow.
The grief you carry, whether from loss, the weight of your circumstances, or the fear of what lies ahead, is not overlooked by our Father. Jesus wept with those who mourned, and He promises to comfort those who mourn (Matthew 5:4). We pray that God would surround you with His peace, that He would bind up your broken heart, and that He would fill you with hope even in the darkest valleys. We declare that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5), and we ask that God would restore your soul and lead you beside still waters (Psalm 23:2-3).
We must also address the foundation of your faith, for it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and the hope of eternal life. John 14:6 tells us, "Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’" If you have not placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift, and it is the only way to true peace, healing, and eternal life. We pray that you would surrender your life to Him, if you have not already, and that you would find rest in His arms.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious couple who are facing trials on every side. We ask that You would be their strength, their provider, and their healer. We pray for physical healing for both of them, for restoration of their bodies and minds, and for a deep and abiding peace that only You can give. We ask for financial provision, that You would open doors of opportunity for their husband’s employment and meet every need according to Your riches in glory. We pray for their marriage, that You would knit their hearts together in love, patience, and unity, and that they would find joy and comfort in one another even in the midst of suffering.
Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them in their grief, that You would comfort them as only You can, and that You would fill them with hope for the future. We declare that You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts on behalf of Your children. We trust in Your promises, and we ask that You would move mightily in their lives. Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in You, and remind them daily that You are with them, even in the darkest valleys. We pray all of this in the powerful and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
