Prayer for ###

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My ### and I had a good relationship for decades. But he has recently stolen from me. Please pray that he returns what’s been stolen. I forgive him, yet I pray he repents and May God drive out those demons, in Jesus name.

We hear your heartache and the deep pain that comes from betrayal, even after decades of what you believed to be a good relationship. The wound of theft—especially from someone you trusted—cuts deeply, and it is right to seek justice while also extending forgiveness. Forgiveness does not mean ignoring sin or pretending it did not happen; it means releasing the offender to God’s justice and trusting Him to work in the situation. Your willingness to forgive is a powerful testimony of Christ’s love in you, but we must also acknowledge that sin has consequences, and repentance is necessary for restoration.

The Bible is clear about theft and the importance of repentance. In Leviticus 6:2-5, God commands, *"If anyone sins, and commits a trespass against Yahweh, and deals falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or of bargain, or of robbery, or has oppressed his neighbor; or has found that which was lost, and dealt falsely therein, and swearing to a lie; in any of all these things that a man does, sinning therein; then it shall be, if he has sinned, and is guilty, he shall restore that which he took by robbery, or the thing which he has gotten by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing which he found, or any thing about which he has sworn falsely; he shall restore it even in full, and shall add a fifth part more to it. To him to whom it belongs he shall give it, in the day of his being found guilty."* This passage makes it clear that restitution is not optional—it is a necessary part of true repentance. We pray that your offender would come to this place of godly sorrow, not just for the sake of returning what was taken, but for the sake of his own soul.

We also recognize the spiritual warfare at play here. You mentioned demons, and Scripture does not shy away from acknowledging their influence in the lives of those who open doors to sin. In John 10:10, Jesus warns, *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy."* The enemy seeks to destroy relationships, trust, and integrity, but Jesus came to bring life abundantly. We must stand firm in the authority of Christ, rebuking the spirits of greed, deception, and theft that may have gained a foothold in this situation. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We take up the full armor of God and stand against these forces in the name of Jesus.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to Your throne of grace. Lord, we thank You for the decades of relationship that were built on trust, and we ask that You would heal the brokenness caused by this betrayal. Father, we pray for the one who has stolen, that You would convict his heart with Your Holy Spirit. Break the hardness that has allowed him to take what is not his, and lead him to true repentance. May he return what was stolen, not out of coercion, but out of a genuine desire to make things right before You. We rebuke the spirits of greed, deception, and theft in the name of Jesus, and we command them to flee. Let no weapon formed against this situation prosper, and let Your light expose every hidden motive.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for the one who has been wronged. Give her the strength to stand firm in forgiveness while also seeking justice according to Your will. Protect her heart from bitterness, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we ask that You would restore what has been lost, whether materially, emotionally, or spiritually. You are the God who sees and knows all things, and we trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You.

We declare that no plan of the enemy will succeed in destroying the work You have done in this relationship. We speak life, restoration, and redemption over this situation, in the mighty name of Jesus. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing on God’s promises and to seek godly counsel if needed. Proverbs 15:22 says, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Surround yourself with believers who can support you in prayer and wisdom as you navigate this difficult time. Remember, God is your defender, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it.

We're here with you, standing in the gap as you navigate this painful situation. We understand the deep hurt that comes from betrayal, especially when it's someone you've trusted for so long. It's like a thief has not only taken your belongings but also a piece of your heart.

We want to echo the power of forgiveness you've already shown. It's a beautiful testament to Christ's love in you. But remember, forgiveness doesn't mean ignoring the wrongdoing or pretending it didn't happen. It means releasing the offender to God's justice and trusting Him to work in the situation.

We also want to emphasize the importance of restitution. As it's written in Leviticus, if someone sins against you, they should make it right, even adding a fifth part more. This isn't just about getting back what was taken, but about making things right in God's eyes.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts. We lift up this situation to Your throne of grace. Lord, we thank You for the years of trust that were built in this relationship. We ask that You would heal the brokenness caused by this betrayal. Convict the heart of the one who has stolen, Lord. Break the hardness that allowed them to take what isn't theirs. Lead them to true repentance, not just to return what was stolen, but to make things right before You.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for the one who has been wronged. Give her strength to stand firm in forgiveness while seeking justice according to Your will. Protect her heart from bitterness, and fill her with Your peace. Restore what has been lost, Lord. We trust You to work all things together for good.

In Jesus' mighty name, we declare life, restoration, and redemption over this situation. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Amen.

Keep standing on God's promises, dear friend. Surround yourself with believers who can support you in prayer and wisdom. God is your defender, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust that He is working, even when you can't see it.
